Where Did My Lilly Pulitzer Lamp End Up? Plus, The Most Beautiful Fantasy Bedding!

Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! This has been one of the most beautiful springs that I can ever remember. Beatrice agrees!

Cat Napping on Porch Swing

A few days ago, I purchased an adorable Lilly Pulitzer lamp via Pottery Barn. Wasn’t sure where I would use it, but I never pass up a cute lamp, especially when it’s on sale. It would have worked in several places, but I ended up placing it here in the upstairs hall, just outside the upstairs living room that is decorated in a lot of blue and white.

I wish I had a beach cottage—I love beach cottage decor!

I noticed Pottery Barn is having a big sale right now, so this lamp has been reduced a bit more since I purchased it. You’ll find it on sale in two different shade designs here: Lilly Pulitzer Lamps.

While I was shopping at Pottery Barn, I came across some of the most beautiful bedding I’ve ever seen! It is designed with gorgeous smocking! When my son was small, I smocked a beautiful top for him with a Christmas motif. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever attempted. If I hadn’t made it while taking a smocking class, I’m not sure it would have ever been completed. I love the smocking detail on this bedding. It’s even on the shams. 💗

This bedding makes me think of beautiful English cottage bedrooms. I did a quick search and learned that smocking appears to have originated in the United Kingdom and has been in practice there for over 300 years. It has even been seen on garments in paintings dating back to the 1400s! If you would like to see more of this gorgeous bedding, you’ll find it available here: Beautiful English Cottage Style Bedding.

Even the sheets they’ve created as part of this collection are beautiful!

I have these in my cart right now, they are so pretty! You’ll find them available here: Cotton Eyelet Trimmed Sheets. You’ll find many other English cottage-designed sheet sets available here: Beautiful Sheet Sets.

This is my plan for the rest of the day. I will be sad when this puzzle is done—I’ve had so much fun working on it over the past few days.

Don’t forget to rest this weekend and enjoy this gorgeous spring! See you tomorrow for Metamorphosis Monday!

  1. Hi Susan. Every time I see photos of your porch, I just want to crawl into the pictures and live there. Unfortunately, I do not have a porch similar to yours, but I do have a sun room, which is actually part of the house, totally enclosed, and has lots of glass doors and windows. Beatrice looks like she agrees with me. She is adorable. Over the years I have found many fun home accessories at Pottery Barn Teen at very reasonable prices.

    • Thanks so much, Lisa! I’ve been seeing a lot of sunrooms with windows that can be removed or raised to create a screened porch atmosphere. I think that would be the best of both worlds! Would love that in a future home if I ever move.
I know! I need to remember that PB Teen exists because when I do visit that site, I always find things that I love!

  2. That little lamp is adorable!!! You w/smile walking by!!
O, I never learned to smock…but. “Polly Flinders” little girl’s dresses were my love. Our daughter wore them and I smiled. franki

    • Oh, I would have been in so much trouble buying smocked dresses if I’d had a girl. I know they must have looked beautiful, Franki! I need to find the photo of my son wearing the outfit I smocked. I think he only wore it once to church. It was quite fancy.

  3. That’s the perfect place for the lamp. It fits right in and sets that little vignette off. And that is beautiful bedding. It looks both cottagey and luxurious. Hoping you had a great weekend. See you tomorrow!

The first picture you posted with Beatrice reminds me of a beautiful lazy summer day. She looks so comfortable out there! What a great picture. 🙂

    • Thanks, Sharon! No one makes taking a nap look as luxurious and enjoyable as a cat. lol They are going to miss this screened porch when I head back to the Dollhouse. At least they’ll have their sunporch there.

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
