Lately, I’ve had curtains/draperies on the brain. Once the walls are all finished in my home office, I’m toying with the idea of adding some simple curtain panels on either side of the double window.
If you don’t sew or if you just don’t have the time to make your own draperies, one of the most reasonably priced stores with great “stuff” online is Country Curtains. Don’t let the name fool ya, they carry lot of beautiful curtains and draperies that are definitely not “country” style. They also have a few “physical” stores in the northeast where you can shop in person. I actually had the opportunity to shop in one a few years ago in Richmond, Virginia. It was like stepping inside the catalog. Wish I had been blogging then, I would have taken pics to share.
I adore this Buffalo Check…
You can get it in red, too.
Bees on a sheer fabric…LOVE!
Another cute sheer…
So perfect for summer…
Gorgeous silk panels for only $99 a panel! Wow! They come in several colors…
Wonderful draperies in a striped moire fabric…love these! This almost makes me want to paint my dining room walls this color just so I can buy these drapes.
These feel so fresh and summery…
They even have draperies that will go with the bedding I chose…
for my master bedroom many, many years ago. How cool is that?!
UPDATE: Added buffalo check curtains to my office…see how they turned out in this post: Buffalo Check Curtains for the Office
I love country curtains and I buy a lot of my window treatments their, also a lot of others things (LOL)! I just love your bedroom. Your bedskirt is the same panels I have in my dining room. Have a great one, Martina
Hi Susan,
I still like your fabrics used in your bedroom.
I'm needing to find some lace panels for Home Haven.
Think your post is helpful. I will be looking into their catalog.
Blessings,
d
Thank you for introducing me to Home Haven. What gorgeous panels!
Hoping to find something for the kitchen to go with the new updates.
I love the Country Curtains site. Will be visisting soon for some living room window treatments. Thanks!
I like the bee and beach one. I'm off to check them out …
I like them all, I would want to have them all. Have fun selecting one. HUGS MARY
Susan,
I use to get their catalog. . .haven't had one for years. . .may have to get back on their mailing list. I adore those with the bees, that was until I saw the ones with birds. How delightful are they? Thank you for such an inspiring post! "Mr. Ed" and I are toying with the idea of changing the Master Bedroom linens. This may be a great source for us!
Fondly,
Pat
I was in their store in Maryland(I think it was Maryland??) last summer. They have some beautiful things. Thanks for reminding me about their great company.

Hi Susan…There's a great Country Curtains store in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, too! They have really top quality stuff. Susan
I, too, love this company and have always been more than pleased with my purchases from them.
Years ago, when I was first married I ordered curtains from another catalog company I won't name. They were so cheap and thin – not at all how they appeared in print – that I refused for many years to ever order from another catalog. Then I gave CC a try and could not have been happier.
I adore Country Curtains and really enjoy shopping at their store here in Rhode Island. As someone mentioned their original store in Stockbridge, Mass. is wonderful – it's located inside the historic Red Lion Inn which I believe the Fitzpatrick family (of C.C.) also own. The home decor items, particularly the lamps they always carry, are a delight. It makes for a nice outing to shop at the Stckbridge store, have lunch in the Red Lion Tavern and then visit the Norman Rockwell Museum, a few streets over from Main. Also, their customer service is great when using the catalog for ordering and they are constantly updating styles and colors as well as continuig to offer more traditional looks.
I live just south of Richmond and I'm headed over there tonight – Thanks so much for the reminder that they are right here in town. I wear their catalog out every time I get one! Tess
I will check them out based on your beautiful report.

Years ago I was at their store in Sturbridge, MA. It was a great store to visit. I love the Moire Plaid in your Master Bedroom….a Classic!
Just about every window in our house growing up was dressed with Country Curtains. We lived right down the way from the one (original one, I think) in Stockbridge MA.
They are beautiful and of the BEST quality. Love them.
Can't afford them right now LOL… but still love them.
Hi Susan, We have a CC nearby, equally situated between Home Goods and Pierre Deux, so when I go in that direction to shop it usually means trouble! They have beautiful window treatments. I made some curtains when I first graduated from college, but I would not like to do that again! Linda
I get their catalog but haven't ordered anything from them. They have beautiful stuff. I adore those buffalo checks!
I stop in to visit their original store in the Red Lion Inn every year when I visit Stockbridge, MA. The red checked curtains are my favorite.
I know I should be looking at the curtain and they are pretty. But I really love the color of the door in the first shot! I wish I knew what it was. I'm trying to get ideas for colors that go well with brick.
I lot of my curtains have come from Country Curtains. I love that place! laurie
I have been buying from them for years. I love getting their catalogs and then trying to copy it myself. Sometimes, LOL
Almost every window in my home is dressed with something from Country Curtains. There are SO many choices and the quality is fantastic! I'm happy to see so many others like the store!
XO,
Jane
Last year, we discovered a CC store in our area…*swoooon*. I LOVE their curtains!!!! Love the store. When we start to decorate our family room, I want curtains from CC ! 🙂
I have been very pleased with everything I have ordered from them. The blackout panels saved my sanity!
Great company and customer service. They'll even send you swatches so you can check colors! I've shopped from their catalog for 25 years.
Susan, I enjoyed your post on Country Curtains. They have some truly gorgeous curtains and drapes.
Please come over and look at the silk drapes I made for my dining room and valances for the LR. I think you will like them. hugs, Ginger
Post is called "Granny's Silk Draperies". Pretty imaginative huh!
I like the checkered curtains. Although it looks like a table cloth, I find it lovely.
It looks like Nester has had practice destroying a few window treatments! Awesome article, I think window treatments make a great statement to any home, and love shopping for them.
I wish I had Nester's talent for making beautiful curtains. I'm curtain poor in my house…but one day I'm gonna fix that. 🙂
