Back when I first moved into the Dollhouse almost two years ago, I was seriously thinking of ordering this table from Rooms To Go. It felt just right for a cottage-style home, and I thought it would be perfect for the dining room. I also loved that I could someday have the back and seats reupholstered in a beautiful fabric to coordinate with whatever drapes/curtains I would eventually add to that space.

I really like how this table has worked out in this room. It came with a good-sized leaf, which easily allows the table to seat 8 when needed. The table and the chairs are incredibly sturdy and quite heavy. It feels very solid and well-made! I feel like this set will last many, many years.

Back when I was shopping for a Dollhouse table, I had been super tempted to buy this round version. I really like the design of its base, and when I visited the store, it was in stock on the showroom floor, so I was able to see it and try out the chairs. It did not disappoint, and I’ve never forgotten about it. In the end, I chose a rectangular-shaped table for the Dollhouse dining room since that shape fits the room really well and would seat more people when needed.

I’ve been playing a bit of musical tables over the past two years! You may remember seeing this wicker dining room set over the years, as I often set tables in the breakfast room for Tablescape Thursday. I purchased it many years ago, before I added on a screened porch. It was my sneaky way of bringing a bit of white wicker into my home. Unfortunately, the table has always felt a little too big for my breakfast room in Georgia—the chairs are quite large. Plus, I now have all the white wicker I could want out on the screened porch, so I decided a while back to take this wicker set north to the Dollhouse sunroom.

It has worked pretty well here on the sunporch. Again, it’s a bit larger than I would like, but it’s certainly fine for now.

That left my breakfast room in Georgia empty; it looks so weird that way each time I visit. Now that I’m headed back to Georgia, it’s time to do something about that empty breakfast room. Last night I ordered the round set I had originally seen and liked so much in person. It’s the perfect size for my breakfast area, and I think it will look great in there! It’s being delivered next Thursday, March 19th. I’m looking forward to one day having the backs and seats possibly upholstered in a fun buffalo check. I’ll be sure to share how it looks next week, once it’s delivered. I sure hope the delivery goes off without a hitch! I could use a simple delivery after the many botched ones that I’ve been through in Ohio!

I didn’t get to leave for Georgia on Friday as planned, but I’m headed there today. Dreading the drive and hoping the kitties cooperate and don’t meow the entire way. lol
Happy Weekend!

Anxious to see how it looks. BTW What happened to the bathroom wallpaper at the dollhouse?
I think I’ve found someone else to complete that. So stay tuned.
Buffalo check would be gorgeous on the new chairs.
I think so, too! I like the neutral fabric that always comes on these chairs, and it cleans well, but def need some fun color! 🙂
I’m excited to see how the set looks in Georgia and how you have them reupholstered. I’m a big fan of buffalo plaid. And I’m excited about seeing the Dollhouse bathroom finished. Have a safe trip back to Georgia.
Me, too! I just love it! Thanks, Barbara, we made it home safely, and the kittens have been working overtime exploring every single room in the house. lol
Those FIRST impressions…amazing, huh!! ALL looking good!!! franki
Thanks, Franki!
Hope all went well with your trip. Did you have to drive in that INSANE wind we had friday? It was unreal – never had anything close to those kinds of winds in my entire life. Power lines and trees and poles down, huge trucks overturned, just chaos. And it blasted for so long! Hope you had no troubles.
Musical dining sets indeed! Slow but steady, it’s all coming together. Now you/we can focus on outdoorsy stuff
Yes, would love to do more in the yard this year!
Wondering if a solid table top is going to look bigger than your glass top table. I like the wicker on the sun porch. I also have a chaise and they sure are hard to place because they stick out, but I won’t give it up. I love how chaises look so inviting. Will you be adding more color on the sun porch in Ohio? Looking forward to the wallpaper in the Dollhouse bath.
The issue with the other table/chairs was the chairs. The chairs were really big/wide. This table is actually a little bigger, but the chairs are a normal size and not as wide as the wicker ones, so I think it will be okay. Tomorrow, I’ll mark it off on the floor with some masking tape, just to make sure. Thanks for asking about that, good idea to double check before it’s delivered.
I really want to go ahead and do the wallpaper since I’ve found someone who I believe will do a great job. He’s done work for me once before and it was excellent. The only issue is, I’m not sure how long I’ll keep this house and it may be more sensible to paint. So I need to think about that. I really want to see that paper in place, though.
I love chaises, too!
What a lovely table and chairs. I hope you are prepared for the cold weather we are getting beginning tomorrow. It is supposed to be in the 20’s a couple of nights. I hope you have safe travels.
