Amazing Deal On Ring Camera Floodlight-Includes Installation! Plus, A Smart Birdfeeder!

Welcome to the 899th Metamorphosis Monday Party! Happy new week to you! I have a variety of goodies to share today, but first on the list is this amazing blackened salmon sandwich I had while dining in the Big Canoe Clubhouse on Saturday. If you ever have the chance to eat there, you will not be disappointed. This sandwich was so good, I was very tempted to order a second to take home to enjoy the following day. I’m serious, it was that good! It’s a good thing I don’t live in BC, or I’d be having this at least once a week or whenever it was available on the menu.

I have two friends who live in Big Canoe, so every once in a while, I get to enter the gates and enjoy heaven for a bit. On Saturday, my friend, Katherine, and I attended a Wildflower Plant Sale. I didn’t buy anything, but it was a lot of fun seeing all the plants and meeting a lot of new people while there.

One More Ring Floodlight, This Deal Was Too Good To Pass Up: Changing gears: Recently, I added two new Ring floodlights to the Georgia house. There was one last spot where I would love to have added one, but I was trying to keep my cost down that day since I was also scheduled to have the electricians install two ceiling fans. They had to order a part, so we had to reschedule that; hope to get those installed soon!

THIS IS AWESOME! Last night, I came across an amazing find! Right now, the Ring Floodlight that I always buy due to its great reviews, is on sale for a lot less than what I paid for the two I purchased a few weeks back. When I purchased the previous ones, I paid $229 each. Right now, that same Ring floodlight camera is on sale for $169! That’s $60 less (or $120 since I purchased 2) than what I paid just a few weeks ago. Argh! And on top of that, at checkout, they offered installation for just $89.99! I had to pay $250 each to have them installed by the electricians I used. Double argh! This is the floodlight that I always order since it has great reviews. (This photo is from the Ohio house garage.)

So all this is to say, if you have ever wanted to add a Ring Floodlight Camera to your exterior, this seems like the best time to do it. You can purchase and have it installed for $259.98, which is around $10 dollars more than what I had to pay just for installation! So it’s almost like getting the Ring floodlight for free! I wish they’d had this sale going when I purchased the other two! You’ll find the Ring Floodlight on sale here: Ring Floodlight Sale + Great Price for Installation. Hopefully, the $89.99 installation offer shows up for your area when you check out. For me, it showed up when I got to the checkout screen where you schedule the delivery date. You can see it toward the bottom on the right side of the screen.

Birdfy Camera Birdfeeder: Okay, this post is turning into a long one. I just have one more goody to share with you for this Met Monday. A while back, my son and daughter-in-law gave me the Birdfy Birdfeeder for Christmas. Are you familiar with those? They are one of the camera birdfeeders that will record the birdies as they visit, then share it with you via the Birdfy App on your phone. There’s no charge for the app unless you want it to identify the birds for you as they visit. I didn’t sign up for the identification feature since I recognize the birds that frequent my feeders, and if I don’t know one, I can always look them up in one of my bird books.

I need to make a trip over to Wild Birds Unlimited for seed. I just ran out of Choice Blend, which is a huge favorite with my backyard birds, so, the only seed I had available was safflower. Actually, that’s probably a good thing since this feeder isn’t squirrel-proof and safflower seed isn’t a favorite of most squirrels. Cardinals love it, though, so I can’t wait until my cardinals find this feeder! I mounted it on one of the support posts for the pergola that’s above my deck.

Within 20 minutes of hanging it, I had my first visitor, a cute Tufted Titmouse. He has been back multiple times this morning. The lighting isn’t the greatest in my backyard due to all the shade. I’m wondering if the pictures will be sharper/better later in the day when more sun gets through to the deck. If that happens, I’ll add additional photos to this post later in the day. Do you have one of the camera bird feeders? I think I’m going to really enjoy this!

The app records the visits so you can go back and watch them when you’re available. They can even be downloaded to your phone or shared with a friend or to social media. As I’m typing this, my Titmouse is visiting constantly now. He (or is it a she?) is definitely comfortable with the new feeder. Love that!

The Birdfy feeder that I have is not solar-powered, so it has to be periodically charged. When I installed it this morning, it was at around 98% charge. It has been visited a bunch of times today, plus, I’ve had it on live view a lot so I can listen to the birds singing in the backyard, and it’s still showing 96% charged. So it appears the charge will last for a pretty long time. You’ll find the Birdfy feeder that I have available here: Birdfy Bird Feeder.  If you get a lot of sunlight in your yard, you may want to buy one that is also solar powered, too. You’ll find the Birdfy camera feeders that can also run on solar power here: Birdy With Solar Powered Camera.

  1. The picture of that little bird in front of the camera is too cute! I didn’t know camera bird feeders existed. Always learning so much from you, Susan. Thanks. I hope you have a great week!

    • I know, I can’t stop watching it! I had a little house finch today, too. I need to buy some regular seed that will draw a wider variety. Thanks, Pam!

Hey Susan! I highly recommend the Merlin bird ID app. You can record the bird song in your backyard to identify all the birds! The data is used to help track bird numbers. Best of all, it is free!

    • I def should add that to my phone. I often hear beautiful songs, but I’m not sure what bird it’s coming from. Thanks for that suggestion, Nicole!

  3. Susan, I’m so glad you received a Birdfy feeder! My hubby gave me one for my birthday 2 yrs ago for our primary residence in IL, & last year he gave me the hummingbird feeder for our lake cottage in the north woods of WI. I enjoy them both immensely! The hummingbird feeder is far superior to watching tv in my opinion. Enjoy!

  4. Great price on the Ring camera. We use Vivent which is part of our alarm system but I love having the app and to know who’s just come into our driveway. It’s usually Amazon.
I also have a bird camera and if I face it in the right direction I can see other things in my backyard that the Vivent cameras don’t catch. Ours has night vision and I saw 2 coyotes go through the yard a couple nights ago. One thing you might want to look into at WBU is their “spicy” birdseed. The birds can’t taste the spice so they enjoy it but mammals will stay away. Squirrels, mice and other animals are deterred by the taste. I hope you are enjoying being back home for a while!

    • I was wondering about that since I can see a lot of the deck through the camera. I’ve been wondering if there’s protective plastic over the camera lens since it seems so blurry, but it could just be the shade/lighting. I do buy their spicy suet, but haven’t tried the birdseed yet. Thanks, Janet!

  5. That camera bird feeder will be so entertaining this spring and summer. Actually, all year long! Please post more photos in your future posts.

  6. Michele M. says

I SQUEALED with that adorable pic of the Tufted Titmouse. It is sooooo cute.
Oh I just that feeder. Thanks for sharing. Too much fun!!

  7. I also have a smart hummingbird feeder on my patio. The only problem is the WiFi sometimes doesn’t reach! Do you have that problem, or do you have an extender? Thanks! Enjoy your blog Susan!

    • Thanks, Janis! I’m sure I would be having that issue if this was the Ohio house since the walls are really thick there, or at least that’s what I’ve been told by electricians. I purchased an Eero Wifi Mesh system for that house since iPads and phones won’t work in the basement/movie room without it. This is the system I’m using in that house and it works great: https://amzn.to/42kVUbi .
Thankfully, that wasn’t an issue in this house. It may be because the modem is in the room that’s directly upstairs over the pergola/deck—so it’s pretty close to the feeder.

  8. Thanks so much for hosting!! I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into it along with visiting all the links!! I hope you are enjoying your week and you are doing well…

  9. Your son was so thoughtful in picking out the bird feeder! Great idea for those who love to watch birds as you do. I can’t have one because I have too many cats. If I could I would pick dual solar/charging. Solar is so unpredictable and eventually wear out with sun damage. Sometimes even new batteries won’t even work. The plant sale looked interesting…fun to see the different plants.

  10. We’ve had a birdyfy feeder for about a year. It’s a lot of fun. The charge lasts a long time. We mix cayenne pepper with the seed to keep the chipmunks and squirrels away. It works well. Just don’t touch your eyes or accidentally breath in a cloud of pepper dust when filling lol.

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
