Welcome to the 845th Tablescape Thursday! We are out on the sunporch for this week’s table setting.
Since the porch isn’t heated, I placed a small electric heater on the porch and opened the door from the living out to the porch. The porch was toasty warm in no time. I would enjoy dining out here any time of the year now that I know how easy it is to warm up.
This was a fun table to set, the first one here on the porch.
Do you remember this dinnerware? I purchased it online just a few years back and have shared it in a table setting a couple of times now.
I love the toile design, the garland surrounding the edge of each plate, and the beautiful homes depicted in this snowy winter setting.
I can never remember who makes this beautiful holly glassware but I bet someone will recognize it. It’s delicate but at the same time feels quite sturdy. The chargers are from Horchow back in 2008.(Thanks so much to Holly for identifying the glassware in her comment as Winterberry by Pfaltzgraff. I wish my brain could remember that whenever I use it. lol)
This dinnerware is still available here: Home Christmas Toile Dinnerware.
In this previous Christmas table setting, we can see how the dinner plate has a different design than the salad plate. I love that they created a different scene for the dinner plate instead of just repeating the same one that’s on the salad plate.
Many years ago I used sleigh ornaments in a table to hold the place cards. I brought those out again for this table, only I didn’t have the place cards with me. So I improvised with business cards I’ve collected since I moved here to give you an idea of how the place cards would work displayed this way. I need to buy some real place cards to keep here. So when you’re out shopping, if you enjoy using place cards in your holiday tables, look for ornaments that could work as place card holders.
This will have to be my only Christmas tree for this year. I had hoped to bring up three boxes of ornaments, the family ornaments that I always use on the Christmas tree that I place in my kitchen each year. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get those in the car along with all the other items I needed to bring up this trip. I may still go out looking for a tree, though, even if I don’t have ornaments for it. I wonder if there are any good ones left in the Lowe’s or Home Depot?
This tree is perfect for the sunroom/sunporch since it’s decorated all in birds, birds bundled up for the cold winter weather we are having here in Ohio. It was 19 degrees out when I awoke this morning. On days like this, I just want to stay inside all day. Hope you are keeping warm!
Looking forward to the beautiful table settings linked below for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!
If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.
Thanks so much Susan! Your sunporch is holiday ready! What a lovely spot to dine. I love the red plaid tablecloth and the centerpiece tree with the bundled birds! Stay cozy~
Thanks so much, Jenna! Hope you are having a wonderful December!
Susan, I love all the additions you’re making ro the dollhouse. Though I’ve been following, I was buried in a big project relocating a sister from SC to WV, mostly in Nov. I’m happy to be Gnome for the Holidays, as the table goes, but I’m far from finished with decorating. Have a great day!
Wow, that is a big project! She is so blessed to have you helping her, Rita! If I know you, you’ll have your home decorated in no time! Love your energy!
Looks SO cozy! I believe the glassware is Pfaltzgraff Winterberry – which is a very cute casual pattern with lots of accessories.
Thanks, Holly! And thanks so much for identifying the glassware. That definitely rings a bell. I wish my brain could remember that name, so glad you recognized it!
So pretty! Love the birds dressed for the cold. 19 degrees, oh my. I still have brown leaves falling past my window. Ugh, not Christmassy at all. Thanks for sharing and getting me into the spirit.
That’s how it was in Georgia when I left, still a lot of brown/gold leaves on the trees. Even Georgia got unusually cold of the past week or two. Ugh.
Thanks, Kathleen!
I have the very same Santa Boyd’s bear sitting in a sleigh on my hearth! I have enjoyed your transition to Dayton. My husband has a cousin in nearby Centerville, and she said she hoped you were in the Oakwood area.
Thanks, Joan! Yes, I am, and Centerville is very close! I was shopping yesterday and running errands in Beavercreek and I could not believe the traffic! I think everyone took yesterday off, may to get ready for the weekend decorating and parties.
That’s great that your sunporch can warm up enough to hang out in the winter – and set lovely tables! I, like Jenna, love your little birds, and the china is perfect. Thanks for another wonderful table and party! Hope you have a relaxing cozy weekend!
What a beautiful table Susan! The dishware is divine and I adore the little birds dressed up for winter in the tree. Thanks for hosting and congrats on your first table in the sunporch!
Susan ….you have done your magic once again. This table setting in the Dollhouse is so darn cute. I especially love the sweet little birds dressed in their winter clothes, so cute.
I never mentioned this before but have always wanted to, so here goes.
Your header on your Autumn website is so darn cute and such great details for the season. I get such a chuckle every time I see and can see you have such an incredible eye for the finer details. Love, love it!
Ellie from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
Thanks so much, Ellie! Appreciate that so much! I’m so glad you mentioned the header, this year I’ve been terrible about remembering to change it on time for the various holidays/seasons. I just changed it to the Christmas header since Thanksgiving has passed. 🙂
We have an artificial tree with lights. Last year I didn’t have the energy to pull out the ornaments and we left it ‘as is.’ It was beautiful at night with the lights glittering. Another plus-I didn’t have to put the ornaments away in January, which I always find tedious. We have the tree up now, and I’m debating about the decorations. Happy Holidays in your new home!
Beautiful table scape Susan! I love that room in the dollhouse, but then I am loving all the rooms in the dollhouse. LOL Those dishes are my favorite of yours, love the beautiful scenes! Oh I think you should get a tree, even if it just lights up, it will still give all the feels even though it wouldn’t have ornaments. Hugs, Brenda
That table setting looks so good there–such a splash of color. If you do get another tree, depending on size, it might be a good chance to should the kids how it was done in the olden days. Like strung popcorn (we know they would eat most of it), a chain made from construction paper, etc. Mostly just paint, color, cut and glue things to other things
Lovely tablescape! Scenes like those on your plates evoke such nostalgia for me and really sets the mood for Christmas. Because we’re having work done in several areas of our home at present, I can’t put out much in the way of Christmas decor-or any decor for that matter- which really is bummer. When you get to be my age, you want to be able to celebrate every holiday. I’ve never ordered wreaths from LCF, but they are beautiful. The dollhouse has evolved so nicely due to your creativity. I’m enjoying the journey. Blessings for a wonderful holiday season, Susan, and much love.
Such a darling table. I love the idea of ornaments as place card holders. Plaid and Christmas just go together for me. Enjoy the holiday season….maybe a white one for you!
Susan
Where did you find the birds with sweaters?
I think I found those in Hobby Lobby. It’s been several years, so hard to remember. I think it was either Hobby Lobby are Target.
Love the festive Porch!! Looks so pretty. Where did you get your Chargers? Are they made of wood? I love those. Everything is coming together so beautifully. Thanks
Thanks, so much, Peggy! Do you mean the white chargers? I found those online at Horchow in 2008. They are ceramic and on the back it says: Vintage Garden, Ambiance Collections.
