Cottage Retreats by Lisa Jill Schlang

3 Things I Like About This Book:

  • This book features all types of beautiful cottages. Some are on the beach, some are in the mountains and some are the stuff of fairy tales, especially those featured under the chapter titled, Romantic.
  • The chapter titles are: Tranquil, Romantic, Cozy, Nostalgic, Rustic and Whimsical. Those chapter titles give you at little idea of what awaits you inside this sweet cottage book. If this book doesn’t give you cottage fever big time, I don’t not what book would. It has me ready to put my house on the market right now to buy my own enchanting cottage.
  • If you love gardening, you’ll enjoy the garden scenes and the way flowers are used in the homes throughout the book. This book also has a “Source Directory” at the back that may prove helpful.

You can read more about this book, Cottage Retreats, and preview it at Amazon, where I normally buy my books here:

  1. I have a going fondness for cottage as as late. I’ll to check out this one. You have a lot of great books in your library.

    • Thanks, Theresa! I’ve gradually collected them over the years. When I discovered I could buy “Like New” or Very Good” condition used books on Amazon for often less than the cost of a magazine full of ads, I quit buying decor magazines and started buying books instead.

  2. Rose Ann Bacher-Giallombardo says

Thank you Susan for reminding me that buying books instead of expensive décor or garden magazines (that are filled w/ advertisements) is the way to go 🙂
Sometimes I purchase old magazines on Amazon such as:
“Home Companion” & “Summer or Spring Cottage”. . .terrific!

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
