Welcome to the 664th Metamorphosis Monday!
Okay, I may have paraphrased that first line of the poem, The Spider and the Fly, just a little. I’m still trying to figure out exactly how to position all these legs! This was a bit of a dress rehearsal for Halloween night.
Getting dark now…
Would you brave these creepy crawlers and trick or treat at this house on Halloween night? I may add another spider or two. It would be fun to have one climbing down the pediment around the front door. Hee, hee. Yup, I need one more spider for the full effect. Ha! (Spiders are available here: Halloween Spiders and here: Halloween Spiders.
In the past, when I’ve used lanterns on the porch, I think I’ve normally placed them directly across from each other. I really like how they look in this staggered fashion a lot better. I placed a little faux leaf fall garland around the base of each candle inside each of the lanterns. Lanterns are such an easy way to decorate a porch and they add just the right amount of spookiness on Halloween night.
I found these adorable pillows in Marshalls a few days ago–picked up one for each bench.
The colors are more vivid than they are coming across in the photos.
Here’s a better view of the creepy (in a good way) village that’s embroidered onto each pillow. There’s Horseman’s Bridge, Dracula’s Castle, Candy Corn Mountain, Jack O’Lantern Patch, and Witch’s Broom Forest. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I’d take any shortcuts through Witch’s Broom Forest on my way home! 😉
I love the “Happy Halloween!” with the spider dangling down in the corner. So fun! When I shop for Halloween goodies, for just a few minutes I forget all the cares in the world and feel like a kid again. I love the silliness of Halloween!
The wreath is from a previous year–looks like it could use a bit of fluffing on the right side.
Here’s a better view of it from a previous post. I’m pretty sure I found it in Pier 1.
Happy Halloween my spooky friends!
Looking forward to all the great Before and Afters linked for this week’s Metamorphosis Monday!

Metamorphosis Monday
Metamorphosis Monday is a party that’s all about Before and Afters. Please link up your Before and After projects like DIY projects, room makeovers, craft projects even recipes. Any Before and After is great! Please do not link up Table Settings, save those for our Tablescape Thursday party on Thursday.
If you are participating in Met Monday, please link up using the “permalink” to your MM post and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then just copy and paste the address that shows up in the address bar at the top of your blog, into the “url” box for InLinkz when prompted.
In order to link up, you’ll need to include a link in your MM post back to the party so the other participants will have an opportunity to receive visits from your wonderful blog readers.
This party has ended, click button below for the links to all who participated.
That looks Spooktacular!! Great pillows! Your porch is ready for Trick or Treaters. I’d love it if you would put some spider webs on the two large bushes by the porch. 🙂 Happy Halloween, Susan!
Great idea, Anne! I love that…definitely need to add some webbing to the bushes! 🙂
Your porch IS pretty spooky, Susan. Love the lanterns and that adorable Trick or Treat pillow on your porch bench. so much fun. have a great week!
Thanks, Debra! Have a fabulous week!

Love the lanterns and spiders! On a side note, I know you really liked Pier 1 (didn’t we all!). World Market is carrying a collection called Pier Place. Clearly the same vendors that Pier 1 bought from. They have some beautiful things for Christmas.
Really? I have one not too far from me–I need to check them out. Thanks for letting me know, Peggy! Yes, I def miss Pier 1. Wish they would reopen again.
I was hoping you’d have a Halloween “Porchscape”! Thank you!
I love the staggered look – maybe a few spider webs??
And here’s the poem 🙂

Thanks, Liz! Yep, I looked it up since spell check kept trying to change my spelling of the word Parlour to Parlor. I decided to stay with the way it was spelled in the original poem. 🙂
I love how the spiders are positioned. Oh how I miss Pier 1. On line is just not the same. No World Market in my area.
I know, online just isn’t the same. I used to love to drive to the one that was about 2 miles from my house and browse through. It was so relaxing and definitely a happy place to visit.
Spooktacular Porch indeed!!!! 🙂
Thanks, Rosie! I’m going to work on those spiders a bit, see if I can get those legs a little better positioned. lol
I would definitely run TO your house for trick-or-treat; a house with such great and spooky decorating would have to have the best candy!
Love the pillows, so cute!! Thanks Susan!
Thanks, Jenna!
The pillows are adorable! But I can’t stand spiders in any form or fashion so I don’t use them in Halloween decorations. I’m happy for you to use them, however, and hope you’ll enjoy all the playfulness of the season.
Thanks, Joy! Yeah, I’m not a big fan of the real ones but I try to remind myself that they catch annoying bugs. That makes me feel a little about them. lol
Very cute! Love the pillows!!
Thanks, Sheri! Happy Halloween!
Very nice, but I think you need a Halloween wreath. The spiders are something!
I do! I have one but it’s seen better days. Thanks, Joyce!
Love how your Front Porch looks!!
Thanks again for hosting this lovely party every week! I know how much time and effort goes into doing so and I want you to know that it is greatly appreciated!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Have been looking forward to your Halloween porch, and it’s great! Love the staggered lanterns and those pillows are beautiful. Hugs!
Your porch looks so fun and festive! I love your pillows and beautiful wreath too. Thanks so much for hosting, CoCo
Hm. Hoping you will see my comment: just discovered that the links to other blogs at this end of this post are not working. I’ll see if I can access them from one of your earlier posts.
Kathy, check again to see if it’s working now. I had the same issue just a few minutes ago and now it seems to be working okay. I don’t know if that was a glitch somewhere or what was going on.
Also, just make sure you’re using the latest/updated version of your browser. I know that can affect if the links load sometimes.
Also, try rebooting your computer, that seemed to help when I did that with my computer just now. Let me know if you continue having trouble seeing them.
