Inspiring Transformations For Your Weekend

Happy Easter! I haven’t felt so well the last few days so this weekend I decided to just relax a bit and enjoy visiting some wonderful blogs. In my visiting, I found a few treasures that were just too good to not share.

This kitchen renovation blew me away! I so wanted to post the “After” picture because it’s amazing, but I didn’t want to spoil the surprise for you. So, showing great restraint, I’m sharing just the “Before. You’ll find the gorgeous “After” at Hooked on Houses.

Outdated Kitchen Before Makeover

Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick completely transformed her windows with trim. If you weren’t a believer in what trim can do for a window before, you will be once you see her Before and After pictures. Sarah included a detailed tutorial sharing how she did it in her post, too. You’ll find it at her blog here: Window Molding Transforms Windows

Ever thought about turning a dresser into a sink/vanity for a bathroom? Marion will show you how in this beautiful makeover at Miss Mustard Seed.

I love ironstone and adore brown and white transferware.  Jacqueline is a master at finding beautiful pieces while thrifting and she displays them so beautifully on her sideboard. Perfect inspiration for spring and you’ll find it at her blog here: Cabin & Cottage

If I ever get to Napa Valley, I’m visiting Castello di Amorosa, a winery designed just like a medieval castle! You can read all about it and seeing it being built here: Castello di Amorosa

Hope your Sunday is relaxing and wonderful!

  1. Happy Easter. I hope you feel better soon.

  2. “AhCHOO!” Sorry you’re not feeling the best…you didn’t eat too many chocolate bunny ears did you?? The Pollen here is over 1000 and norm is…75! Luv’d the converted vanity…we did the same thing with antique “wash stands” that had seen their best years. Put brass sinks in them…they’re good for another 50 years!! HAPPY EASTER!!! franki

  3. Hope you feel better soon, Susan! Happy Easter!

  4. Thanks for the shout-out for Maria’s kitchen makeover on my blog, Susan. Hope you feel better soon and have a happy Easter! xo

  5. Vicki Daugherty says

Susan, is anyone besides me NOT receiving their daily blogs sent via feedburner? At first I thought the problem must be with my computer and I began deleting saved posts, thinking I was out of space. But since then, I’ve read other posts by viewers saying they were not receiving any via feedburner also. What’s going on? I miss all my blogs and must find a way to be reconnected. I’ve re-signed up on some but always get the message that I am ‘already on their mailing list. Vicki in Louisville KY.

    • Vicki, you’re the second person this week who has mentioned that to me. So many bloggers use Feedburner because it’s free and most paid services can run a pretty hefty amount each month. I may need to just go with a paid service though if Feedburner is failing to deliver. One BNOTP reader told me that she unsubscribed and then re-subscribed and then she started getting her emails again.
One thing that may be happening…maybe your email host has decided that Feedburner is spam and is filtering all the Feedburner emails out so they never arrive. Be sure to look in your spam folder, too.
Oh, one more thing I thought of, occasionally when I get an email, I’ll mean to click the delete (trash can) symbol after I’ve read it, but once in a blue moon, I accidentally click the spam icon in my rush. I normally realize it immediately and click on “undo” because I don’t want gmail thinking that all emails from that person are spam. I wonder if you could have accidentally at some time clicked the spam icon instead of the delete button and now that’s why you don’t get the emails. That may not be it…but just wondering. Try unsubscribing and then resubscribing to see if that works. Let me know if that works.

  6. Oh, it is tough to be unwell in the Spring when everything shouts to be up, active and doing! Feel better soon
    and a blessed Easter!
Re Maria’s kitchen? Marvelously tramsformed! However, I think she overdid the white-ness to the point of
sterility. For me I’d like more shots of contrast, either hyping her lovely green or even the black as shown
in the eating area. Just me……

  7. WOW, I would never have believed that was the same kitchen!! Absolutely stunning makeover. Thanks for sharing and hope you feel better quickly. Try to enjoy your Easter. XO

  8. Hope you feel better soon dear Susan! The kitchen transformation is amazing…almost like mine 4 years ago!
Happy Easter to you and your family.

  9. Hi, Susan,
So sorry to hear you are not well. Hope you feel better soon. I was interested in hearing about Vicki missing emails. For some reason BTNOP now goes to my spam folder, so I have to remember to check that folder first thing so I don’t miss any of your posts. I will try unsubscribing then subscribing again, as you suggested. Take care, rest, stay warm and HYDRATE. Rosie

    • I feel much better this afternoon, thanks Rosie. Sorry it’s going into your spam file…I know that’s annoying! I’m not sure how it is with your email but in Gmail, if you see an e-mail in the Spam folder, you can open it and click “not spam” and it will put it in your Inbox and I think after that it will quit throwing it into the spam folder. If that doesn’t work for you, hopefully unsubscribing and resubscribing will work.

  10. Thanks so much for the link Susan, hope you are feeling better my friend!!

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
