The Porch

Recently, I’ve had several requests for larger pictures of the “room” this blog is named after…The Porch. Can you believe I’ve been blogging for 4 months and I’ve never shared the porch with you, other than a few small pics on my sidebar. Well, it’s time to fix that.

On Wednesday, I will post a whole slew of porch pics and you will be able to click on them and enlarge them for an even better view. The Screened-In Porch is a very special place for me…a dream I carried in my head (and heart) for a long, long time. Perhaps that’s why I’ve never gotten around to posting about it…it’s sort of like doing a post about your child. I hope you will love my “baby” as much as I do.

Update: To see more of the screened-in porch and deck construction, click HERE and HERE and HERE.

To read about 9 awesome features you may want to consider including when building a screened-in porch, click here: 9 Great Features for a Screened in Porch.

You’ll find additional details about the porch construction (flooring, size, sheers etc…) under the FAQ category at the top of this blog.

  1. I love porches, and yours is beautiful!
And I can’t wait to hear your big fat secret either!

  2. I’ve seen pictures of your porch you posted on RMS and absolutely fell in love with it. In fact, I was going to copy much of yours for my screen porch. Unfortunately, we have enclosed it and we’re currently planning on turning it into a game room that the grandkids can enjoy and have room to play in when they visit. I may have to take pictures along the way so that I can share them on your Metamorphosis Monday!

Susan, I can't wait to see your porch! I've been dreaming of one myself & can't wait to get one again. I had a small porch in GA & I'd love to convert our deck into a beautiful screened porch. I've saved all my wicker just for that!

I'd like to invite you & all your readers to come over on Wed. (the 7th) for my Top Projects of 2008 Before & After party. Hope you will all join in. Your new Met Mondays sounds like fun too & maybe I'll have something I can join in on this year.

  31. Jan/jjlmnaz on RMS says

Dear Susan, You know that your porch is the start of this whole thing (in my mind). I’ll bet I visited your RMS post on that room about 50 or more times. What an escape and treat for the eyes! MMonday may be an incentive for me to actually start a blog, but if not, I will leave you the link to RMS. I hardly EVER visit there anymore, which is kind of a shame because so many talented people start out there. It is just too frustrating to get on most of the time. I love the very HINT of a secret so you know I’ll be checking in Wednesday for sure! Hugs, Jan

  54. The Strings says

I love your blog and Tablescape Tuesday is the best. This is my first time to join in on the fun for Tablescape Tuesday.

  55. WOW!!! This give me a GIANT urge to clean up and decorate my screened porch!!! I guess it’s technically a bird cage with a roof, but it’s one of my favorite “rooms.” I’ve been so wanting to make it an actual, livable part of the house. Due to “economic restrictions,” our well-worn furniture will have to do for now, but I’ve been thinking of ways to update and decorate it on a dumpster-dive weekend. I’ll try to get some before and after pics. Right now, it’s quite enjoyable with wind chimes, lots of plants and a cool little koi pond, but it’s golden hour IS approaching! THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION!!!!

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
