Velvet & Sequins For Metamorphosis Monday—Pretty Daffodils, Too!

Welcome to the 787th Metamorphosis Monday! So I had an exciting weekend! Not! After an appliance repairman diagnosed and fixed an icemaker problem (it’s ALWAYS the icemaker, isn’t it?!) I spent the weekend giving my refrigerator a full, top-to-bottom cleaning that included pulling out all the shelves and drawers and replacing two smallish light bulbs inside, one of which had burned out at some point unbeknownst to me. Whoo-hoo! Cleaning the refrigerator scores right up there with sorting out my sock drawer on the excitement meter. Ha!

Since I don’t have a worthy “Before and After” to share with you for this week’s Met Monday, how about some beautiful inspiration from Martha who recently hosted her Supper Club for a delightful February dinner party?! Martha set a beautiful table, beginning with an elegant, white, damask tablecloth.

Such a pretty view across the table!

Martha’s centerpiece is composed of velvet roses and both velvet and sequin hearts. Martha, we need to know where you found these! Sooo pretty!

The stems appear to be real stems! I love the contrast of the rugged stems mixed with soft velvet and sparkly sequins.

Martha said, “The white plates are Mikasa Italian Countryside and the floral ones are Royal Albert American Beauty.” Notice the cute heart-shaped spoon! ❤️

Martha shared, “I bought the silver charger plates online several years ago. They are by far the heaviest chargers I have. Those lovely red wine glasses were from our much lamented Pier 1 about a year before they closed. How I miss that store!” Me too, Martha! I keep hoping they will miraculously reopen their brick-and-mortar stores one day.

I love the sweet velvet hearts! What a beautiful surprise for each of the dinner guests!

Thanks so much to Martha for sharing this wonderful table setting that she created for her special Supper Club members!

I’ll leave you with this photo of the daffodils that are currently in full bloom in my front yard. I noticed while out on an errand recently, all the Redbud trees are blooming, too! Spring has definitely arrived here in Georgia, despite what the calendar may say. Just hope we don’t get a hard freeze because I am loving all this floral sunshine!

    • I don’t see a link in the post back to the party, so that’s probably the problem. Am I missing it and it’s there? If you add a link back to the Metamorphosis Monday, it should go through okay.

  7. Thanks for hosting, and I always love your velvet creations…so rich in color! Sandi

  8. Susan, the hearts and flowers came from Plush Pumpkins online.
How I love your daffodils! At my other house, I had beautiful large areas covered in them. Regretfully, I have never put them in at this house. In the south, they are always a glorious touch to February!

  9. My best score in a thrift store was a huge white Damask tablecloth for $1.49 that looked new. Everyone is so creative. Love the daffodils. I don’t miss snow, but I miss spring flowers.

  10. Oh those red velvet roses. The star of the show. Thanks for the peek into spring with the daffodils photo–I needed that!

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
