A Beautiful, Colorful Porch Makeover for Summer

Welcome to the 443rd Metamorphosis Monday!

Recently Brenda wanted to update her front porch. It had been a few years since she last decorated this area and felt it was past time for a makeover.

Summer Porch Makeover, Before Photos

This bench was still super cute, just needed a bit of TLC and some updating.

The chairs, though still comfortable, were really showing a lot of wear. I love the built-in side table!

You can really see how weathered they are in this photo below.

Brenda took the chairs completely apart to work on the seat and back.

Brenda also decided to create a bit of art for the large wall behind the chairs. Brenda said, “Getting started, I cut out two patterns (one smaller than the other) of the blue shapes, painting them two different shades of blue. Before that I drew out the design.  I watered down some paint for the back ground.”

You can just tell it’s going to be wonderful! Let’s check out the “After” of this porch makeover!

AFTER

Brenda enlisted the help of her daughter, Ginger, with this makeover. Brenda said, “It was a lot of work this last week-end. My daughter and I worked nonstop, something I have wanted to do for many years, and with her help, it got done.”

Wow, such a beautiful and dramatic change! I love it!

Beautiful Front Porch Design and Makeover

Would you even recognize this bench now? Love the color and Brenda even recovered the cushions! The colors are so pretty contrasting against the wall color. Notice how the flower in the pillows picks up the color of the wall behind the bench. So pretty!

The floral rug adds so much to this space! It’s perfect! Brenda has created such an inviting space to welcome friends and family to her home.

Remember the badly worn chairs that Brenda took apart to refurbish?

They look amazing now painted this bright, cheerful red! Those little built-in side tables look so cute in red, too!

Oh, and there’s Brenda’s beautiful painting!

Great to see a mom and daughter working together on a project. My mother was a fabulous artist but often low on ideas. I had lots of great ideas but couldn’t get them to my hands so often we combined our talents. Beautiful job ladies!
