Welcome to the 145th Tablescape Thursday!
Welcome Friends! We’re jetting off to Switzerland this evening for dinner with our friend, Cornelia.
It’s always such a treat to have dinner here in Cornelia’s beautiful dining room.
Cornelia has set a lovely table for us this evening! The tablecloth and napkins are by Le Jacquard Francais.
Salad plate is Limoges by Raynaud & Co.
The dinner plate is by Jacob Zeidler & Co, Selb, Vavaria and Cornelia said it would have been produced prior to 1917 because in 1917 Rosenthal took over the company.
This pattern is just beautiful!
The colored, crystal stemware is vintage Bohemian glass and is hand-cut.
The two wine glasses are Theresienthal and are hand-blown in Germany.
I love the flatware Cornelia chose for this table setting. The design looks like a pretty wreath. Cornelia said, “The cutlery is sterling silver by Jezler. The pattern is called Empire and is no longer manufactured.
Love, love, love to see knife rests used in a table setting. You just feel so completely spoiled with these small but significant touches.
The candelabra is German silver.
This sweet candlestick is silver and made by Jezler in Switzerland.
The little figurine is from Bavaria and is made by Nymphenburg.
The vase filled with beautiful lilies is hand-blown crystal and is by Peill made in Germany.
The lovely flowers below are from Cornelia’s garden.
Cornelia, thanks so much for a wonderful evening. Everything was perfect and we’ll be oohing and ahhing for days over this gorgeous table!
Looking forward to viewing your beautiful tablescapes!

Cornelia's tables always speak of elegance, sophistication, and a thorough knowledge of the finest in china, crystal, and silver. Bisous
It's always a joy to stop by and see the delightful tables you've set for us, Susan. I smile only slightly less when I see that you're whisking us off to Switzerland for another of Cornelia's gracious and charming creations.
I know it's a bit of a cliché to describe something as being "old world," but it's what I always think when I see Cornelia's dining room. A piano AND a grandfather's clock in the dining room? Cozy chairs by the windows? Elegant linens, stunning flowers, gorgeous silver candelabra and cutlery? What's NOT to admire?
Seeing the silver knife rests stirred my passion for starting collections! I have a new quest!
Thank you, Cornelia, for allowing us into your lovely home. Thank you, Susan, for your friendship, guidance, sense of fun, and divine inspiration!
With fondness and gratitude,
Bill
Cornelia's room has that not-easily-duplicated old world feel. sigh! Her room is just beautiful as is her table.

I just love Cornelias tablescape – so very elegant. I didn't get a chance to comment on the blue porch ceilings, but I do just love the design element and the history behind it. I have noticed many homes in New England have the same treatment! Thanks again for hosting.
Such a lovely dining room. I love how the patterns used here work. The pattern on the Limoges by Raynaud are gorgeous. Finished with beautiful stemware. The fresh flowers at each place setting gives the feeling of summer dining. Lovely….
