This is it—the shirt that saved my life in Egypt! lol It’s true! I foolishly took white denim jeans on my visit to Egypt, thinking they would be perfect, especially in white, since it would reflect the sun’s heat—oh my gosh, never doing that again when traveling to a hot-weather region. Those jeans were thick and insufferably hot.
What saved me from completely keeling over in the heat were my linen tops!
Linen is so airy, almost like wearing nothing. I love how it’s so light, yet keeps its shape and doesn’t cling to the body. And when a blessed breeze finally comes your way, you can feel it since it’s linen and breathes. One of my favorite features of this top is the roll-up sleeves that, once rolled up, can be buttoned into place. This style top is perfect in hot, sunny weather because the sleeves can be rolled down when outside to keep the hot sun off your arms, then rolled up when going inside. Since it’s linen and breathable, I felt cooler outdoors with my sleeves rolled down. It kept the sun’s hot rays off my skin. Once inside, I could easily roll them up. I need to get out in the garden now while the temps are still cool, but before I go, I have to share these summer PJs that I’ve been loving! I’ve meant to share them so many times and keep forgetting. Many years ago, I found some all-cotton “shorty” pajamas on Amazon and loved them! I like them so much that, over the course of a year or so, I must have purchased 7-8 pairs. I keep some here and some back in Georgia. Unfortunately, they are no longer available, and I’ve been searching for a reasonably priced replacement since I wear mine so much during the summertime.
I don’t care for cotton jersey; it often feels thin and I don’t like how it clings to the body. I prefer 100% cotton poplin. It’s light, airy, and so comfortable for sleeping. Well, I finally found them! I purchased these PJs in two designs and liked them so much, I purchased two more sets! I should probably purchase a few more before they are all gone. I live in these when I’m home and running around the house vacuuming and cleaning. I even wear them outside in my backyard when gardening since they look a bit like a shorts set and no one can see me in the backyard anyway. They are pretty, cool, wash well, and are so comfy!
