In The BNOTP Library: Classic Greenwich Style

You would laugh at me if you saw me getting ready to write a “BNOTP Library” post. I get up from my desk, walk over to the bookshelves here in the office and start pulling books off the shelf–one after the other, agonizing over which of my children is my favorite today.

Okay, well at least that’s how it seems when I’m going through the process. You would think I’m preparing to write the last “In The BNOTP Library” post ever and there will never be another one. It’s so hard choosing which book to share because all my faves have wormed their way into my heart in some mysterious way. It’s a sickness. Hope there’s no cure.

I had another book post written and ready to share but after this morning’s tour of Ron Howard’s beautiful Greenwich, Connecticut home in this post: Ron Howard’s Greenwich Connecticut Home: Take the Tour, there was just one logical choice for our book this evening.

Classic Greenwich Style by Cindy Rinfret

3 Things I Like About This Book:

  • Lots of pictures of beautiful Greenwich homes filled to overflowing with gorgeous antiques
  • Showcases a mix of homes varying from formal to “country elegance”
  • This book pulls back the curtain and feels a bit indulgent as it lets us past the mystery and mystique the Greenwich area has always seemed to have. It’s exciting getting a little peek into some of the stately homes in that area.

Cindy’s Latest Book

I purchased the book I’m featuring today back in 2008. Cindy has written a second book that was just released last year called Greenwich Style: Inspired Family Homes. In an interview she said the difference between her first book (the one featured today) and her latest book is the first one featured homes with more formal interiors. The second book apparently focuses on a more casual lifestyle in the Greenwich area.

I haven’t ordered her latest book yet but I have it on my wish list. I know I won’t be able to resist for long. If you are interested in checking out her most recent book, you’ll find it here: Greenwich Style: Inspired Family Homes
