A St. Patrick’s Day Porch: Fun Ideas for Decorating Your Porch for St. Patrick’s Day!

Welcome to the 633rd Metamorphosis Monday, a blog party sharing fabulous Before and Afters!

We’ve been having the most amazing weather over the last few weeks. It was 78° out on the porch today and I couldn’t wait to get out there and play a little. I turned on the fans overhead–love those soft breezes.

After a bit of cleaning and sprucing, I began adding a few touches for St. Patrick’s Day.

Mr. Leprechaun had to make his annual appearance. It just wouldn’t be a St. Patrick’s Day celebration without him! After the cleaning was done, I celebrated the opening of the porch for spring with a glass of Pinot Noir Rose Champagne. I love the rose-colored bottle this champagne comes in, I’m going to add it to my bottle tree out on the deck.

Whimsical Decorations for St. Patrick's Day

While I was searching for a big shamrock-covered platter I keep stored in my laundry room closet, I came across my diffuser pitcher.

Today was the perfect day to bring it out and fill it!

Sooo, yesterday I kept seeing this ad on Instagram for the cutest St. Patrick’s Day donuts from Krispy Kreme. They were soooo cute, I tried to order a dozen online for my son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons, but sadly during the ordering process, I discovered they no longer have a Krispy Kreme Donut Shop in their area. They used to but apparently, it had closed at some point. So that left me with no choice but to order them for me! 😉

I think this St. Patty’s promotion must have been really successful for them because though their ad shows the promotion includes a dozen donuts decorated in many different designs for St. Patrick’s Day, only about half of the donuts I received were decorated that way. Plus they were all done in the same design except one. The rest of the donuts I received were just regular chocolate-covered donuts, so that was kinda disappointing.

I noticed today when the ad popped up again on Instagram, a few people were complaining in the comments about similar issues, or not being able to order the St. Patrick’s Day donuts at all where they live. Based on an article I read online this evening, I think this may be the first year they’ve done this promotion. Despite not getting a dozen St. Patrick’s Day decorated donuts as the ad showed, I thought it was still a good deal. I received a dozen donuts delivered to my front door about an hour after ordering and the total cost was $22.09.

Several weeks ago, I came across the cutest St. Patrick’s Day pillow covers online. They were reasonably priced (just $14.99 for all four) and the reviews were really good so I decided to order them. I just looked again this evening and now they are marked down to just $9.99! (They are available here: St. Patrick’s Day Pillow Covers.)

This one is my favorite of all! Sooo cute!

I really wish there was a Shamrock Delivery service! Imagine being able to order up a truckload of lucky shamrocks whenever you were in need of some extra good luck. lol

I couldn’t resist decorating the porch hutch for St. Patrick’s Day.

This may be the first time I’ve used these plates on the hutch. I love how they look here!

Are you decorating for St. Patrick’s Day? I’m so excited that we are really close to that first day of spring now! The Redbud trees here are all in full bloom. I keep meaning to stop and take some pictures to share for those of you who live further north. I’ll try to bring spring to you early here on the blog and then you’ll get to celebrate a second spring when it arrives in your area! I had that happen to me one year, enjoyed spring here then a few weeks later visited family in Ohio and experienced the same trees and flowers blooming all over again. It was awesome!

  1. Really cute! I have a St Patrick’s Day table set right now. I think I need some donuts!!

  2. Snowflake281 says

What a great metamorphosis you created for your porch Susan. It looks so cute. I especially love how you dressed up the hutch with the St. Patrick’s Day plates. I don’t suppose if you know if those plates would be available for purchase somewhere would you? The new pillows are adorable too! Well, I hope you enjoy your St. Patrick’s Day this Wednesday and if someone greets you by saying “Top o’ the morning to you”, you can respond in the traditional way by saying “and the rest of the day to you”. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

    • I’ve had them for many years now. I’m pretty sure I found those in HomeGoods–if not there, it would have been TJ Max or Marshalls. The only place I know to look for them now would be on eBay, although I’ve not visited a HomeGoods or TJ Max in about a year. I just looked on the bottom of the plates and white round plates with shamrocks say Mesa with the web address of mesahomeproducts dot com. The green shamrock plates are by the same company and have the same web address on them. So if you look on eBay, check for the brand Mesa. Hope you are able to find some. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you!

    Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
    Hugs,

  4. Marinell Rollins says

Susan, just love, love, love BNOP……. The St Patty day pillow covers are sooooo cute. Do you have information as to where to purchase the inserts for them online at a “bargain” price? Thank you, Marinell

    • Thanks, Marinell! The inserts I used were from pillows I already had on the porch that were purchased in HomeGoods and a couple of pillows I had purchased in Pottery Barn a few years back. I just did a search on Amazon and found this set of four, 18″ x 18″ inserts that appears to have good reviews. https://bit.ly/3cOywsP .
Here’s a set of two that also appears to have great reviews, too: https://bit.ly/3crSOYA

      Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  5. That’s the best display of St. Patrick’s day, and out on a porch just ups the the enjoyment. The pickup truck pillow is so cute–what a rich green. And, yes, a lot of us would like to see some blooming things in your area.

    • I was so surprised at how rich and beautiful the colors are! They really do look (in person) like the pictures online.
Thanks, Mia! Everything is starting to pop around here! I love it!

  6. Selma C Kessler says

    Susan-

Oh my gosh, those pillows are ADORABLE!! I’ll be checking those out today. I also love your tray with the bunny and the green border. It has that vintage ephemera look, and I love that. 🙂 As always, your porch is beautiful and welcoming–thank you for sharing! Selm

  7. Patti O'Donnell says

Thanks for the pillows. They are coming my way to add to my March decor.

  8. I love your St. Patty’s Day decor, Susan. Thanks so much for hosting!

  9. Brenda s. Lawrence says

The porch looks so festive all decked out for St. Patty’s Day Susan! I love how springy it looks. Loving the donuts too. lol We had a good taste of spring too, but today are back cold and windy. Rain/snow mix in the forecast as well for this week. Talk about a Debbie downer. lol But spring will be back to stay soon! Happy Spring Susan! Hugs, Brenda

  10. Thank you so much for your beautiful blog. I was wondering where did the tray featured on the table with the glass of wine and water came from.

    • I’ve had that little tray so long, having trouble remembing. I think I found it in Marshalls, but really not sure now.
      Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Shirin!

  11. Oh I’m so jealous of your lovely weather! I had to scrape ice off my car again this morning – I’m totally ready to welcome spring through your posts! 🙂
Love your St Patrick’s Day decor – thanks for the extra boost!

    • Ugh, that doesn’t sound like much fun. Barbara, it won’t be much longer and spring will be headed your way!
      Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  12. Jackie Allen says

Thank you for getting me into the Saint Patrick’s Day spirit! I purchased those pillow covers (same brand) in the winter with a winter theme on them. What a bargin – I just was putting them up yesterday and was thinking I need to go online and look for the same ones for spring. What a great idea to have them for every holiday/season – so reasonable and they don’t take up that much space! Spring is just around the corner – so excited! – Jackie

    • I think my daughter-in-law has this same brand, only for a different season/motif. I’m amazed how well made they are, especially for the price! Really, you’re so right. At that price we can have them for all the holidays! Love that!

  13. I love this post, especially the St. Pat’s pillows. Thanks for sharing.

    • Thanks, Kay! I love those, too! I think they do them in different themes so I’m going to start watching for them in the future.
      Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  14. So many fun and festive St. Patrick’s Day touches! They’re all really beautiful. Thanks so much for hosting. I hope your week is a special one, CoCo

  15. I am all decorated up for St. Patrick’s Day! Every year I fix a St. Patrick’s Day meal for my son’s family! Grandkids look forward to it every year, even though they are all teens now! I ordered a set of pillow covers for next year as well as a set of valentine ones! Thank you for sharing!

  16. Cyndi Raines says

Your St. Patrick’s little man is so cute! I have always really liked him and keep looking for one for me. Still on the hunt. Your porch is lovely and I like the St. Patrick’s dishes in your hutch, cute! Those pillows are such a bargain. Cute, Cute, Cute!

  17. Love the porch and that leprechaun. Susan, please say you did not eat a dozen donuts and drink a bottle of champagne all by yourself. I gained five pounds just looking at them. LOL

  18. Love the pillows so much I just ordered them! I have a few decorations out, mainly floral and a wreath. Your hutch looks super cute with the plates. The doughnuts are perfect. I would be a bit disappointed not getting 12 green. Lots of bulbs blooming in my garden and the roses are all lush with green, shiny leaves. Still very cold at night (CA). Happy St. Pat’s Day. Thanks to Ancestry I know I am 28% Irish, lol.

  19. Bobbi Duncan says

Always love seeing your cute Mr. Leprechaun. Although I’m part Irish, I don’t do much for that holiday– but love how cute you decorate for it. The pillows are perfect. I especially love the one w/ the bike! Hugs!

  20. Love the Saint Patrick’s day display. Those donuts look delicious.
    HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY
    Joan,Marion and Marilyn

  21. I love your little Patty’s Day Santa! He is adorable and your plates are so cute too. I hope you have a very happy St. Patty’s Day!

    Hugs,

    Tee @ Teediddlydee

  22. So pretty and nice to see, a spring teaser! Boulder received 2 feet of snow last weekend, but it is melting fast when the sun comes out at this altitude. I will just pretend the forecast is not for 12 inches this Sunday. In the meantime it is lovely to enjoy everyone’s springtime posts.

  23. M. Christie says

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you all.
I am officially retired as of today. Nearly 30 career, poof, all done. I guess this is a good day to celebrate. Haha
Social distancing and a cozy table for 2 tonight as it snows outside.
    Enjoy your blog! Cheers!

  24. Linda K. Engle says

Where can I buy the Leprechaun you have on the table, on the porch, etc. I can’t find him anywhere.

    • I purchased him about 10 years ago in Marshalls. I’m not sure where you could find him now. Marshalls and HomeGoods get in a lot of seasonal decor this time of year so I would check in those two stores.

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
