A Whimsical Tablescape In Celebration Of Winnie-the-Pooh Turning 100 Years Old This Year!

Welcome to the 906th Tablescape Thursday! Were you a fan of Winnie the Pooh books when you were growing up? On October 14 of this year, Winnie-the-Pooh turns 100 years old! October 14th is the centennial celebration of the publication of A.A. Milne’s original Winnie-the-Pooh book. A few weeks back, Teresa, a dear friend of mine, attended a special event hosted by the Society For The Advancement of Floral Design (SAFD Houston), where beautiful table settings were created for everyone’s enjoyment. The theme of one of the tables was a delightful celebration of the 100th anniversary of the publication of the very first Winnie the Pooh book.

This table was Teresa’s favorite of all the beautiful table settings on display that day, and I can see why. It’s wonderful!

The 4-tiered cake in the centerpiece was amazing!

Love the incorporation of flowers and candles!

A lot of the characters from the Winnie-the-Pooh book were included in this table setting. Of course, each place setting included a small jar of honey.

Thanks so much to Teresa for sharing this adorable table! I’ll be sharing a few other tables that she photographed in an upcoming post real soon.

Looking forward to the beautiful table settings linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  1. Oh that is just darling!! What a sweet and fun table, and how great that Teresa got to go to this event. It must have been a blast to see all the different tables. It was nice of her to share, and thanks to you for hosting!

  2. Aww, I LOVED Poohbear and I still do. He was the only childhood character that I really loved. Everything about him, from his love for a smackeral of honey, to being stuck in Rabbit’s door, to his walks around the forest worried about heffalumps, he was always adorable. Christopher Robin was a lucky little boy. Thanks, Teresa and Susan for sharing this. I didn’t know it was his centennial!

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
