While we continue enjoying the beautiful table settings linked for today’s Tablescape Thursday, I wanted to share an absolutely wonderful book that’s all about creating beautiful tables. It’s also by one of my favorite authors, Barbara Milo Ohrbach, an author of a previous book I’ve shared from my library. If you love creating beautiful tablescapes and table centerpieces for everyday or for special occasions, you’ll love this book.
In the BNOTP Library: Tabletops: Easy, Practical, Beautiful Ways to Decorate the Table
Author: Barbara Milo Ohrbach
Hardcover: 144 pages
Book size: 10.3 x 7.8 x 0.7
3 Things I Like About This Book:
- Same wonderful photography and pictures we’ve come to know and love from other Ohrbach books. This is one of those feel-good books that you’ll pull off the shelf to drool over again and again.
- Lots of ideas for simple but beautiful centerpieces. There’s nothing complicated or intimidating in this lovely book; someone just starting out and wanting to learn more about setting pretty tables would enjoy and learn a tremendous amount by reading it.
- Love the stories Barbara mixes into her books. Her books are as enjoyable to read as they are beautiful!
- Bonus: Love the chapters on dining outside and holiday settings. There’s even a chapter on using flowers IN food. I’ve done a little of that myself. 🙂

You’ll find another gorgeous Ohrbach book that was featured previously here: Antiques At Home. I’ve never purchased a book by Barbara Milo Ohrbach that I didn’t absolutely love!

I LOVE Barbara Milo Orbach. Her book The Scented Room is one of my favorites. I did not know that she had a book on table settings. More to investigate, I see!
Oh, that’s a good one too, Pattie. I have that one as well. Her books are always so beautiful…like comfort food for the soul.
Thank you for the recommendation, Susan. This book sounds wonderful. What could be bad about a book with pictures of beautiful dishes and tablescapes? I’m looking into it right now. Rosie
You’ll love it, Rosie! All Barbara’s books are wonderful…total eye candy for sure. 🙂
Susan, I have her book the Scented Room also. After reading your recommendation, I have just ordered Tabletops through the library.
Thank you!
You will love it, Megan! I tried to not gush too much in that post, but it’s hard not to since it’s one of my faves. 🙂
Lov seeing the books in your library! Continue please!
Thanks, Christine! I’m having a lot of fun sharing them, books are a passion of mine…so will do! 🙂
I have that fabulous book already — I think I bought it on your recommendation!
