Last week I mentioned that Lilly Pulitzer had come out with a line of dresses that was figure-flattering for all body types and surprisingly budget-friendly. I’m not sure if this is the first year these have been available or just the first year I’ve noticed. I think it’s the first year they’ve had them available because I’m obsessed with their fun summer prints and often check their site during the summer.
You may remember that I ordered this one.
It arrived and I love it! I’ve already worn it several times. It’s super comfortable and very flattering on. These photos taken in somewhat dim lighting don’t do it justice.
The back is so pretty and feminine…love that! I like how the open lattice part doesn’t come down too far so you can wear a normal bra with it.
I think this is a dress I’ll be wearing for many summers to come. Very much recommend it if you are looking for a cool, comfortable, flattering dress for casual summer wear. This dress is still available here: Summer Dress with Open Back.
This was the other dress I ordered. I couldn’t forget it once I saw it on their website…it’s just so summery and airy looking. It looked a bit short on the model online, but I know models are always quite tall so I took a chance and ordered it.
So glad I did because it fits beautifully! I’m 5’3 to 5’4″ and it hits me right at the top of my knee, so it would probably fit someone a few inches taller, as well. I put this dress on the minute it arrived and my daughter-in-law loved it!
Despite not being 100% cotton or linen, which is what I normally order, it is not the least bit clingy. Because it wasn’t all cotton, I ordered 1 size up, afraid it would be clingy. I normally wear a Small in Lilly dresses but I went with a Medium. I don’t really know if that was necessary, but I do love how nice and loose it fits, totally not-clingy.
This dress is available here: Blue and White Summer Dress.
I’ve been wearing this dress on outings with the white handbag I just purchased for summer. Love how it looks with summer clothes!
Aquas, blues, and varying shades of pink are pretty much my fave colors for summer. What colors do you crave and enjoy wearing for summer?
I loved the dress above so much, I immediately jumped on my computer to see what other colors it came in. I ordered it again in this print below. This color combination is available here: Summer Dress.
If Lilly keeps this up–offering summer dresses/clothes that are flattering on women of all sizes/shapes/ages, I will definitely continue buying dresses from them every summer! I really want to try one of their rompers!
I am so happy with the new styles and patterns Lilly is carrying this year, I decided to give the dress below a try, as well. I ordered it in two sizes (Small and Medium) to see which fits best. I’ll return the one that I don’t need once I see how it hangs.
Based on how well the others have looked/fit, I’m virtually positive this will be a keeper. You’ll find it available here: Tunic Dress in Pinks, Blues, and Greens.
Another favorite I shared a few days ago is this Etta shirt. I’ve never been a big fan of round-neck shirts, much prefer a V-neck as I find it way more flattering. I ordered two of these and loved them sooo much, I immediately ordered two more in other designs/patterns.
I can tell from how the sizes are selling out, I’m not alone in my love for this shirt. I hope Lilly continues to bring this shirt back every single year for many years to come. It looks sooo good with white shorts and white jeans/pants. This one comes in 17 colors/patterns, you’ll find those here: Summer Top.
Remember the pink and white gingham dress I ordered recently? I know several of you have also ordered it and love it as much as I do!
Since it worked out so well, I went ahead and ordered it in the blue and white version. Looking forward to it arriving soon! You’ll find it available in both colors here: Pink Gingham Dress and here: Pink Gingham Dress.
I feel like I’m pretty much ready for summer now! I know I’m going to continue checking out the Lilly P styles this summer though, just loving everything they’re doing now!
Have a wonderful weekend, dear friends! We are cooking out today and the kids are playing in their dinosaur pool. I’m going to miss these days when it’s time to go home.

You said it is a little cold here than Atlanta but we have so many things in Cincinnati fo you to see and take your grandsons to see.
Someone answered you about Mariemont down here for Cape Cod house.
It’s quite the community for them.
Just wanted to how nice it is hear
Great dresses Susan – I can see why you’re obsessed! 🙂 I’ll definitely check out Lilly Pulitzer. Hope you have a lovely weekend with your darling family!
Love her colorful prints, but much of the fabric has some stretchy material in it, which I find uncomfortable and hot. J’adore your Dior bag, Susan!
I know what you mean, I normally avoid non cotton fabrics but these sure are comfortable.
I’d love to know how long the dresses are on you. I’m 5’3″ and want dresses that come to the top of my knee. They are so pretty.
I’m 5’3′ to 5’4″ and they hit me right across the top of my knee.
Now THOSE look like summer!! LOVEly!! franki
Glad you’re having so much fun (and good luck!) finding summery clothes that you like, Susan. Wish you’d model some of them for us. Enjoy the boys and the nice weather.
Susan, i love dresses for summertime comfort. These are darling prints and perfect for summer!
All those dresses are just beautiful Susan and I know you look beautiful in them too. I love the summery colors and the styles of these dresses. I’m 4′ 11″ so everything is always way long on me. lol Yes, I find a V neck much more flattering-as least on me plus I don’t like anything up to close to my neck area. Hugs, Brenda
I live in Florida and would love to buy a Lilly dress, but I am over 5″ 8.5″ and they are way to short for me. The longer midi and maxi dresses they make are a bit dowdy for me. I have to settle for their tops, but I wish they would do some of their classic styles for tall women.
They have finally started making some longer dresses. I purchased the Ophelia Swing dress last summer and it’s pretty long. The models are all quite tall so look for the dresses that look modest/longer on them and not the ones that are so, so short. When I see a dress that looks really short on the model, I know I won’t like either…although sometimes what is short on them is normal on me since I’m 5’4″.
