Welcome to the 39th Tablescape Thursday! We’re out on the porch for this week’s Tablescape Thursday.
The table is ready and the candles are lit…
I’ve layered lots of creamy white textures, one on top of the other. I found the dinner plates and bowls at Home Goods.
I pulled our color scheme (green and purple) from these special Wedgwood salad plates. They have a beautiful raised floral pattern all around the outer edge, along with a pretty green trim.
From the markings on the back, I believe the plates date back to around 1937 or earlier.
And here’s our dinner plate…it’s the same pattern as the bowl. Found this set at Home Goods but it did not have a maker or pattern name on the label. Lace chargers are from Horchow. Neiman Marcus also carried them but unfortunately, I haven’t seen them on either site in quite a while.
A friend gave me these sweet hand towels for my birthday a few months ago.
I thought they made wonderful napkins for our floral-themed tablescape.
Stemware was only $2.50 each from a local thrift store. Update: Thanks so much to Mary for letting me know this beautiful stemware is by Rosenthal Papyrus.
The floral centerpiece was gathered from the yard and from the garden.
The white flowers are from a “weed” type tree that grows wild in my backyard. The scent is heavenly, so I haven’t had the heart to cut it down. The purple flower is from my garden…its common name is Spiderwort. (Tradescantia) The spiderwort has long skinny leaves that just shoot out from the stem, kind of like the legs of a spider. Wonder if that’s where it got its name. It gave the arrangement a wild and wooly look.
A view from the end of the table–even in the middle of the day, the lighting and candlelight work their magic.
Thanks for coming by the porch this afternoon. Can’t wait to see all the beautiful tablescapes posted for this Tablescape Thursday!

That Wedgewood china is to die for and your centerpiece is to stunning. I love the story of Josiah Wedgewood. He truly changed the way we do business. Made nice china too!
Your tablescape is beyond beautiful! I enjoyed viewing imensely!
WOW Susan, this table setting is gorgeous. I love the Wedgewood plates and you complimented them so well with the other plates and chargers. Those towels are just the cutest and what a good idea to use them as napkins.
Thanks again for hosting.
Oh I always enjoy coming out on your porch. What a lovely setting. The white on white with the touches of green is fabulous! I love it…
Susan, I can’t decide which I love more – the incredible tablescape or the dragonfly lights!!!!
Your table is so beautiful as usual. I started mine today, but is was so rainy and dark on the lanai..I figured I would finish it the morning. I need some place mats with ducks in boats or frogs with umbrellas. I’ll see what I can scrounge up. I love your dishes, pale green glass and your leggy Tradescantia. Cozy, comfortable and welcoming.
Sue.
Oh how I love your porch tablescapes! Such a pretty setting, and this week is especially beautiful, Susan. Those Wedgewood salad plates are so beautiful, and I love the idea of using tea towels for napkins. I think maybe your “weed tree” is honeysuckle? Love the spiderwort, too. 🙂
Beautiful table Susan! I love all those plates. Such texture!!! I have lots of spiderwort in my yard too! 😀 Jewel
Such a pretty tablescape. I love all the gorgeous white and the beautiful little salad plates with the lovely flowers. How clever to use the tea towels as napkins. They are just perfect. Everything is just stunning. Hugs, Marty

Susan, We have spider wort too, around our pond and it is blooming right now too! I ahve seen that white flower too but don’t know what it is. I have always been in love with those lace chargers of yours! However, I have to say I just LOVE the towels/napkins! The designs are delightful! AND you have given me some inspiration for another TT down the road:):) Of course, you are SUCh a BIG inspiration to all of us out here in blogland!!!1 Have a wonderful holiday weekend! Hugs, Pinky
Beautiful. Everything. I’m almost speechless. The china, the towels, the flowers, the lights, the porch, (and especially the stemware =]).
It's very beautiful Susan .. love the mix of green & white and the addition of the purple just sets it off.
Hugs,
Debbie
* This is SOOOOO CHARMING, Susan! So fresh, so clean, so "pure", and then to add the PERFECT & DELIGHTFUL hand towels as napkins just makes it SPRINGTIME SPECTACULAR!!! As always, A+, dear friend!
Am off now, to get at least a FEW minutes of TT in before Dh gets home shortly~~~ This is ALWAYS my FAV, as you should know!!! THANKS for doing this!
Love, Linda *
Very elegant Susan! Thank you for hosting this event again. I am having fun playing along!
Kindest Regards:
Dana
Very pretty, as always! I am madly in love with the handtowels!! So funny you have the dragonfly lights. I was at Big Lots a month or two ago and found battery operated blinking dragonfly lights. I had to have them and for now they are on top of my china cabinet. So cute with the lights off.. Will definitely check out your link as I’ve been on a dragonfly and bumblebee craze lately. P.S Wish we had a Classy Flea close by. Love the glasses and the price you paid for them! Hope you have a happy Memorial Day ..weekend..
it is ALWAYS so warm and inviting here, another stellar porch moment in time~
A very pretty tablescape and I love those lights. And the wine glasses — we have two (we collect odd ones for “fun”) but they do make a pretty table —
It surely says “summer”
Absolutely lovely. I love your mix of Horchow, Home goods, and Wedgwood. They all go so well together!
Susan, that is just stunning..
Such lovely dishes and all your special touches. I love the color combo! Lucky guests who get to dine there..it looks so warm…
It’s Memorial Day weekend, so I went Patriotic, and you missed my hot pink and green paisley last week…Nothing as beautiful as yours!
Happy Memorial Day weekend to you and your family, Susan! Thank you for being such a gracious host..
Another gorgeous tablescape with gorgeous dishes and accessories, nothing less to expect from Susan, the tablescape queen. I really enjoyed this, Susan!…Christine
Everything is so pretty today, Susan. A rainy day seems to be a wonderful time to relax on the porch with a light meal.
I really like your stemware. I wish it wasn’t from a local place. Do they ship? ;-D
The white flowers are so cool~they remind me of spider mums. Do not cut them down!!! By order of Blondie!!
Have a wonderful rest of the week!
xoxo
Jane
Another stupendous effort, my dear!
For the first time, I enlarged the picture. I really, really like your porch. I am going to have to show these pix to a builder when I get to that point.

Your porch is always THE place to be! Too bad it doesn’t hold all of us who would love to visit! Thanks for “inviting” us to enjoy a few minutes on your porch.
I love all the creamy dishes. The whole tablescape just has a dreamy feel to it. Beautiful hand towels. Those dragonfly and bee lights are so cute!
I love the flowers from your yard, so beautiful! Your whole table is lovely, with the aqua colored glass, creamy colored plates and adorable towels. :O)
Beautiful as usual! I love those textured bowls and plates! I’ll have to see if HomeSense (Canadian version of Home Goods) has them, though I didn’t notice anything like that when I was there today. I also like the green coloured glasses, and of course the flowers.
I like the layers of white (the Home Goods dinnerware is so pretty with its raised pattern). And I love the hint of green with the stemware. Very pretty!
Susan this table is definitely another winner. You have such a great eye in combining your different dish patterns! The little hand towels are just perfect with your setting and those dragonfly lights! They’re the bomb. I know, I’ve been watching American Idol.
Oh, I wanted to tell you, Ross and Marshalls sell Colonial Candles in jars! I bought a couple and they do smell delicious! Thank you again for being such a wonderful asset in Blogland!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
An absolute MASTERPIECE…I always love everything you do and everything you have…you are, indeed, THE TABLESCAPE QUEEN. I am bowing to you right now..!!:O)
Thanks so much for hosting such a successful meme. I enjoy it very much as all the others do, too.
xo bj
I adore the dragonfly lights! The stemware is so pretty with your wonderful collection of white dishes! The salad plate is just lovely! Now! Why can’t we have a Home Goods! Your table is beautiful! Love the flowers to set the setting! The towels are darling! Just love this setting, and I did not think you could out do yourself! But You Have! I love it Susan.
Man, I’m not even done with my table yet. Look at all the participants today!
Your table is beautiful… as always! I love that stemware, very nice shade of green. Perfect accent color!
Another GREAT one! I love those dragonfly lights, your “weeds” and the comfy-ness of your porch!
We didn’t have any rain up here! Amazing that we are only 40 minutes or so away from each other!
Blessings…
As usual your table does not disappoint!!! I love the spiderwort–I am not familiar with this. I love the texture it adds to your table. Thanks for having the party 🙂
How fun, I’ll remember to stop by every Thursday!
Oh, this is so fabulous……and I LOVE those handtowels!!! They are adorable!
Suzanne
Your tablescapes are always so gorgeous! I find it relaxing to just browse through your wonderful pictures. Interesting info about your flower arrangement.
OMG, I'm in a dither & don't know where to begin! The new dishes are just too, too cute & now I need to go to HOME GOODS! I have no idea where on earth I'd put anything else but I really need to go!
I ♥ the bike towels!!! Do you know where your friend found them???
Your flowers are gorgeous & I really wish I had a weed tree like yours!
Your tablescape is just gorgeous & I need to find fat bumblebee lights too… ☺ Diane
Susan, you truly keep the design standards high…your table is fabulous!
Hi Susan,
The little dragonfly lights are so very cute. Your flower arrangement is so pretty; I’ve never heard of Spiderwort and I wish my weeds had pretty fragrant white flowers!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
Nola
I love the amount of pictures you use to illustrate your table. I look at each one! They inspire me! Liz
Your blog is so inspiring! Thanks for the great ideas. BTW, I was at my friend’s this week enjoying her yard and her wonderful, fragrant Fringe Tree. It looks like yours, I think. She planted hers, so be sure to enjoy yours! They sure don’t grow “wild” in Kansas!
You seem to top your previous tablescape each week- love it!

mary
What a lovely table you’ve set!
Blessings,
~Deanna~
Beautiful tablescape! Isn’t Homegoods the best. I really like the bumblebee lights! 🙂
All the best,
Allison
This is so fresh, soft and summery! Those lights are beautiful and offer just the right warm touch. I sure do love those flowers! I think any summery table would look great with flowers that are a little wild!
Kady
Very beautiful. I just love it.
so romantic.
god bless
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL post!!!
ENJOY your day!

LOL..I came to see your tablescape and enter my own..and burst out laughing. I FORGOT THE GLASSES! Just completely forgot them…too funny. Oh well…I am not going to do it all over! Good enough. I’ll do better next time.
Your tablescape is, as usual, amazing. Those glasses! Exquisite..I learn from you every week. So very elegant! I have everything but bugs..LOL..oh and glasses! The little fireflie’s and the beautiful napkins…those plates…everything..over the top. You have set the doggoned bar sooo high, Susan. Keep going..it keeps me interested!!
~smiles and hugs,
Mona
Love your table Susan. The dragonfly lights are adorable. I have not done a tablescape in weeks! We have been BAD & eaten in front of the TV. Life has seemed to get in the way lately. But, I do have 2 new sets of dishes that I NEED to create with. This dish thing is getting to be an addiction. I know you understand that! 🙂
green and white have always felt so garden~esque to me! my nanny had a room whose color combo was green and white.. 🙂
she would bring in accessories, like orange (lol) and the room would be so hip she thought! 🙂
Now, it would be hip … and retro!
although i think the entire setting is quite sweet, the addition of the tea towels, with the art…finishes the tablescape with just the right touch!
I like it a lot!
OH…how I love green and white and candles. Just so pretty.
Your tablescapes are ALWAYS amazing! What fun you must have on the porch!!
I posted TT..better late than never, right? 😉
Blessings!
Myrna
Well done!
You do know how to create a welcoming space for guests to relax. The dragonfly lamps are the cutest things.
Keep working on me, i feel a tablescape might be brewing at my place.
Simply Beautiful.
Hi Susan…well, you’ve worked your magic again! Those white chargers are the perfect compliment to anything you put them with…and this tablescape is so crisp with just a touch of color. Love it! 😉 Bo
Susan,
Your table settings are always so elegant. Never over done but just simple perfection. The white on white is so inviting and relaxing.
I grow spiderwort but have never thought of putting it in an arrangment before. I will remember this the next time I need something purple.
faye
You are truly the queen of Table Setting. I would die for a porch such as yours. That would be my favorite room of the house along with my kitchen. Stop by and see my table setting, if you like what you see, be sure to subscribe to my blog by clicking on “Follow” in the right hand column. This way we can inspire one another frequently! Be sure to stay a while when you’re there and enjoy the experience!
I love your green stemware. It really makes the table pop. The bumble bee lights are really something-I just LOVE them. My other favorite thing is the bicycle towels-they have a nice vintage flair to them-maybe it’s just the bicycles themselves that do that but either way, a refreshing tablescape. How lovely it would be to have lunch on the porch with the sound of the rain dancing down.
Your tablescape is so elegant. I love the look of the swing and the creaminess of your dining area. Absolutely beautiful and I love visiting you on your porch – which I do often.
B
Your tables are ALWAYS so beautiful. You truly have a knack for mixing and matching and finding the perfect elements to complete the table.
Oh so dreamy and relaxing. I’d love to pull up a chair and dine with you.
Hi Susan: I think Mr Linky went into hiding. Can’t find him to add myself to. Then again, I can be pretty unobservant at times…..
Sue I always enjoy visiting your porch and the beautiful tablescapes you create! Your lace charger plates are so pretty. I just love your creamy white dishes and how you combined them all together. The touch of soft green in your glasses is just perfect with the lovely floral centerpiece. Dreamy!! Hugs!
Susan, I love it all. Love the bicycle hand towels. Mr. Linky is MIA, so I can’t add myself.
Kathleen
Love, love, love your porch! I think I always say that. But I’m going to have to search your blog to see if I can see it from the outside where it attaches to your house. Curious me. Those white plates are so beautiful. All those pretty patterns put together. And I’m headed over now to look at those lights. You are a master at this, you know. You inspire me.
Brenda
Susan I love the white! It is crisp clean and summery. And I love the tree with lights in the background. I am enjoying the dragonfly and bumble bee theme you use often! It is wonderful. Your outdoor room is my idea of patio perfection! It has given me many, many ideas!
Blessings,
Debbie
Susan,
Like Florida Sue, I can’t seem to find Mr. Linky. Help!!!
Jane
What a lovely table and I went over to look at those sweet lights.
The Raggedy Girl
Heavenly table. I always love visiting you on the porch, it makes for the most wonderful tables. The soft colors and creams are so pretty. Love it all, and thanks for hosting.
Maryrose
I don’t even know where to start. This is absolutely just gorgeous! I kept going back to make sure that I haven’t missed anything!
Susan, I love the little pops of color (and big pop of color in the flower arrangement). Who needs tons of color when you have such beautiful detail in all the different pieces of the place setting? The lighting really sets a relaxing and comfortable mood–perfect for a dinner with close friends. Love it! And I love those adorable little bug lights. CA-UTE!
Blessings,
Linda
Beautiful table Susan!
I'm going to check Smith & Hawken for the lights. We have the round bulb lights on the deck at the lake, from Smith & Hawken. Found those at Target a couple of years ago. I think the bumble bees would be great for our back porch.
Just lovely, Susan! The entire table looks so calm and delicate but alive! I adore the green stemmed glasses. The bumble bee lights are fabulous!
Wonderful…wonderful!!
Barb
Enchanting as always!!
Now Im sorry to be brief but I have some dragonfly and bumble bee lights to buy.
Your dishes are so cheery and I love the hand towel “napkins”. Everything blends perfectly. I looked up your lights. They are so cute, I may have to order some.
Oh gosh..I thought it was just me not able to find the linky..dude. I finally did my first table scape post. and this is my first comment on your blog. I love those napkins..esp the bike one. I’d love to find one and make a pillow out of it. I wish I could hang out with you on your porch one day..hee hee. great blog.

This is sooooo incredibly beautiful it takes my breath away! Your porch and tablescapes are always a feast for the eyes but you REALLY out-did yourself this time.
Beautiful and eloquent! I love the fresh bouquet. The perfect touch!
oh. wow. That is so beautiful – your table, your porch, your dishes — you do NOT ever want to invite me over, I don’t think I could ever leave 🙂
How fun to light up a porch with dragonfly and bumblebee lights! I love that idea. And I really like the look of the little touches of green on the table with the stemware. So pretty.
Thanks for joining my party, Susan! Hope you have a wonderful 3-day weekend. 🙂
Hi, Susan! I thoroughly enjoyed the photo tour of your porch. The wee lights add the perfect glow. The white dishes are making me crazy with joy. The floral pattern adds a surprise. I have been thinking about getting some bee flatware after seeing yours and Tammy’s. Do you put yours in the dishwasher? I hope to be tablescaping with you and the gang next week. I haven’t coughed in 24 hours, and Dr. Gollum says he thinks I am CURED. Have a super dooper Memorial Day.
Hugs, hugs, hugs.
Thanks for stopping by today. I have always loved your tablescapes. The bumble bee is the cutest thing ever!.I wish I had a porch , yours is just lovely. Kathy
I love the layerd look but I have a question regarding it. When it comes time to eat, do you use the dish on top for that course then remove it and so forth until you get to the bottom plate? This would cause a small disruption for my house as we eat our courses as the Europeans having our salad last. Thank you for your responses.
You always have find the best selections from your Home Goods Store and your favorite “Classy Flea,” of course, you can look at something and see things about that china that I wouldn’t, but when you put it together, it goes beautifully! Those dragon fly lights are adorable! Will have to check out their website..also think my neighbor gets their catalog.
Susan, I never tire of this beautiful setting and it always seems new and fresh everytime you do a tablescape here. This is a place that if I lived in your home I would be at all the time.It is perfectly “SUSAN”. You always set the bar when it comes to tablescapes. You could teach classes in HOW TO DO, Loved the addition of the lights, I do love a little whimsy. Hugs Kathysue
Absolutely enchanting, Susan. I adore those lights.
I love the new lights! I have dragonfly lights on my deck that I purchased at Target. I will have to check out your link to ponder purchasing some new friends;) Your blog is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much for stopping by!!
I have never been to your blog before and will certainly stop by again! Its lovely.
TTFN! Claudia
Love the hand towels! I have quite a bit of the spiderworts too. They come in quite a few colors. Different shades of purple including a fuschia and a white! Did you know the old timers also called it widow tears?!
This is my first visit here and I am so glad I found you! I LOVE what you are doing here. Wonderful! I linked late…
The porch looks awesome and that tablescape is just lovely. I love the flowers of the centerpiece, the china, and those darling towels! Perfect:)
Everything on the porch looks beautiful! So inviting, and I LOVE those little salad plates. Your towels make wonderful napkins, and add so much color to your table. As I always, beautiful tablescape. laurie

Susan, how do you do it? Every time you have something so gorgeous and unusual. Beautiful plates, but the ambiance on the porch and the dragonfly lights – wow! Linda
I’m amazed every single time. Gorgeous is an under statement.
Love the bumble bee lighting. 🙂
I love this tablesetting. If I were a guest I would have a hard time eating. I would be too busy admiring the table!
OK – I am WAY out of my league posting my beginning tablescaping skill (not to mention that I do it for 5 kids 13 and younger) but I thought I would share a birthday table for a 10 year old girl.
I can’t wait to check out all of the beautiful tables. Susan, yours is SO inspirational! You have wonderful taste.
xoxoxox
I found your blog from Julia’s Hooked on Fridays. It is BEAUTIFUL, I just want to camp out here for a while. I love your background, the photos, the music. So fun! Thanks.
