I’ve been doing some fluffing on the porch today…even got out the froggy fountain. Thought I’d share some some of the little details. So just make yourself at home.
Deck with pergola…
Lit up at night…
More details back on the porch…
Here’s your tea. It’s so nice out…why don’t we sit here on the deck and catch up.

As usual, your photography is just gorgeous. Like looking through a magazine. Can I come live on your porch?
Now that’s what I call a porch! Fabulous! I love the square dishes you displayed in the green cabinet. Where’d you find those? I love em.
Your porches and decks are amazing. So warm and inviting. We have two of the same wineglasses (we like singles/doubles for fun).
I’ll think of you next time I use them.
Your porch is so cozy. I could spend all day there just being lazy. I love the dragonfly lights.

Great views of your amazing porch Susan. You have done amazing job. Where we live in BC, I have never seen anything like what you have except in magazines. I think too it could be a climate factor to have such wonderful open air living. All the pictures are equisite of your place, but I was very, very partial to the picture of your kitty all snuggled up. I guess that is a prerequisite of cozy porch living.:) Wonderful all round.
Thanks again for sharing your beautiful space.
Enjoy your weekend!
Pauline
Lovely place to be just any time of day, dear Susan! thanks for sharing your piece of heaven on earth us all of us…
Hugs
cielo
Susan,
Thanks for showing us your wonderful porch in detail. Love it.

It’s so pretty. They only fluffing I’ve done lately was to buy 4 bunches of daisies like yours. They’re pretty cute in a green McCoy vase though…
* Sooo pretty, Susan… and kitty seems to be soooo comfy in there, too! ADOOOORE your bunny tray too! Yummy!
Hugs & best wishes for a lovely holiday weekend!

Thank you for the virtual tea and tour. I feel so much better and relaxed already, what a lovely way to start my morning.
Love the curved tops of the windows, the paneled ceiling, the darling detailed porch light, the white wicker everything ~ especially the lamp and porch swing with the ruffled chain holders. Your fabrics are exquisit, the billowy white curtains, calming greens and charming tiny prints, love them all. The minty green hutch with your adorable cottage dishes and accessories, especially the salt & pepper shakers, and the custom knobs are so perfect for their spot. The bird house by Penney and the other birdy accessories are the iceing on this cake that is your porch. The sparkle of all the lighting, your twinkle light tree and your Colonial Candles highlight and spotlight it all to perfection.
Thank you again Susan for sharing all this beauty with us this morning.
Hugs,
Sue
I so adore your porch. I miss mine and long for a new one.
How absolutely beautiful! How do you get anything done around your home? I’d never want to leave the porch!!!!
Your porch is absolutely lovely and looks so inviting!
But I am also curious about the christmas tree – does that have a special meaning?
Monika
A little piece of heaven!! I would love to just sit in your swing, read a few books and just enjoy the view! Gorgeous!
I loved seeing all these little details. You are a true hostess and have made us all feel so welcome! I’d love to actually be sitting here with you, enjoying that glass of tea! In the meantime, I’ll settle for some virtual inspiration. Thanks Susan!

It is absolutely lovely and I would want to spend all my time there.
I cannot tell but is it glass enclosed, screen enclosed or not enclosed at all?
The Raggedy Girl
What a beautiful space! I want to be your cat!!! 🙂

You have a really beautiful blog and i enjoyed the porch tour.Every thing on your porch looks lovely ,the froggy fountain is interesting.
My dear ~ this is not ‘fluffing’ this is an all-out decorating showcase! Have a wonderful week down there in GA!
My favorite detail is the shirred sleeve over the chain suspending the swing. I have used these in other ways, but had not thought of this — very clever.

SUSAN YOU ARE KILLING ME! I love your porch sooo very much…and being the good person I am, I should not want (covet) what you have, but darlin’ your porch just makes me Swoon! It is wonderful! Perfect for visiting, entertaining, dreaming, eating a summer meal, lounging, napping (on the porch)…hey there you go! I saved these pictures for hubby to look at, while I’m busy swooning! Big smile!

Oh my gosh, that is the most beautiful porch I think I’ve ever seen! I would live out there! Loved all the little details!! I see kitty also loves to nap on the porch!… Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
Even though my (front) porch is small, I continue to be inspired by your beautiful porch. Some ideas I keep in mind for my ‘some day’ porch, others I try in a much smaller scale on my own small porch. Love the close-up photos and especially the photos from outside looking in. Very creative!
This porch is so welcoming–why go inside??
Susan! I love the porch. It looks so cozy and inviting. The lamps have a bit of mystique to them. The cat seems to love it too. And that Summer Breeze sign is my fav. I can hear the song now.
So incredibly awesome! I always enjoy photos of your porch and all the charming details. Loved the photos from the new angle…outside looking in with the lights on. Very cozy!
It’s perfect….really!
Having a glass of ice taa on your porch is so inviting. The porch has so many pretty things and is just stunning.
That is definitely the nicest porch I have ever seen.
Carolyn
Susan,You really do have the “Dream Porch”. It just makes me want to do what the kitty is doing or perhaps read a book or magazine. thanks so much for sharing the lovely photos with such magnificiant details.
Happy Memorial day,
Jean in Virginia
when I see your screened in porch, it makes me miss our previous home and I see how much better we could have made it look. Wished I’d known about your blog back then, so I could have “borrowed”some of your decorating and building ideas. The dragon fly lights, where do you have them displayed? Is that a fake tree in the corner?
With a nice porch like that it would be hard not to be out there all the time. Love that kitty too. Looked so comfy sleeping there.
Debbie
this has to be the prettiest and biggest! porch I have seen! wow. wow! no wonder your blog is named that. unreal!!!!!!!! I would move out there and sleep there. just beautiful.
How pretty is your porch? I had just posted about the dragonfly strand lights and someone mentioned seeing them on your porch. Love them!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful porch tour!
blessings,
melissa
I so would love a porch. (never had one)
My husband and I have always been renters. I love the idea of having a place to retreat to.
Thank you so much for your beautiful blog. It’s greatly appreciated ~ especially these days with so many blogs focusing on budgets and being frugal.
You just gained a new Follower!
I envy you your porch, but I envy you most for your sign: “Summer Breeze, makes me feel fine. . .” It’s from one of my very favorite songs! Can I steal the idea?? 🙂
Holly
Wow. No wonder you take naps on the porch…it’s so dreamy!
You have really gotten those spaces ready for anything. I love all the pictures you shared. My goodness Susan, how are you able to leave your home even to just get groceries? 😉
Hi Holly…Guess what…you can have your very own Summer Breeze sign! 🙂 My sign came from a local flea market/antique shop but here’s a place to order one online.
http://www.sawdustcityllc.com/sign_summer_breeze_makes_me_feel_fine__seals__crofts.html
I paid $35 for mine, too. Thanks for your visit and comments!
Susan
Hi Betty, Yep, that’s an artificial tree in the corner…used to have a live ficus there, but it didn’t do well. The tree is in a large decorative urn (shown in the post) so it has a bit of a topiary feel to it. It came pre-lit and I added the dragonfly lights to it to give it a porchy feel. I really love the way it lights up that area behind the swing at night. Thanks for the question! Susan
Your porch enchants me!!! So much so, that now I want to screen mine. How do you keep the rain out???? I visit here often to look at ALL your beautiful rooms, but I am in love with the porch!
What a beautiful porch! I love the way it glows in the night with all the pretty lights and candles. I think if I had a porch like this, I would want to spend ALL my time out there! It looks so refreshing, and I think of all the calming breezes coming in there! As always, you did a beautiful job on it!
Kady
Thanks for the wonderful visit on the porch Susan. I feel so relaxed now. Such beauty with comfort, doesn’t get any better than that. Can I come live wit you? 😉 Your place just looks so peaceful and enviting. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome porch. I scanned through the comments and don’t think I’m repeating this question, but what do you do when it rains? I don’t mean with the furnishings, but with the wood floors. Is it well protected from the elements? And, when can I come over for that nap?
Esta casa es la hermosa que he visto es un sueño , que belleza te felicito si tu vives alli, un abrazo desde Argentina.
Chany
What a fantastic porch!
Wow! What else can you say but just…WOW!…that and can you come to my house? 🙂 You really do inspire me.
I love your pretty porch! Your whole blog is gorgeous. My cousin Avonna told me to find you, and she was right, I do love your blog.
Kathi

New to this blog. This was just the relaxing spot I needed. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous porch. I shall visit often. What a lovely momentary retreat. Thank you.
I know I'm a little late to the party but….Holy Whip, talk about wonderful!
very late to see this but I dream for a porch like this…I love it all, the porch books, the hutch the sleeping kitty it all is a dream I would love to be in.. or at least visit.
Beautiful! I was wondering if you guys did the work yourselves or hired a contractor? Also, how was the flooring done? Was it concrete and then laid over with some kind of wood? Do you have to treat the wood often with some kind of sealer from rain coming in? I love your porch!
Hi Sherry,
Thanks! I did hire a contractor. I just added a whole new section about the porch under the FAQ section. You'll find the FAQ section just under the header pic at the top of the blog. Please email me at betweennapsontheporchatgmail.com if you have any additional questions.
Thanks!
Breathtaking! I feel more relaxed just having taken this photo tour. You've made this a beautiful space that grabs the heartstrings and melts tension away. I'm surprised that anyone ever leaves your home to earn the money to pay the mortgage. *smile*
This porch is breathtaking! Ahh.. what a nice place to grab a book some sweat tea.. and relax away from it all.
Beautiful!
Your porch – in fact, your entire home – are absolutely gorgeous!!! You've inspired me to try the same ideas in my place – thanks!!
And oh, that tea sounds positively delicious on a hot summer afternoon like we are having here today! 🙂
This is so beautifull! Your porch are absolutely gorgeous!
Your porch is absolutely gorgeous. I would just want to be out there all the time with a cup of tea, bon bons & a few good books.
Thank you for sharing your incredible space. We recently moved into our dream home and I have two porches that are just waiting to be transformed into our outdoor living spaces. I am inspired!!! Thanks you.
What a heavenly space!!! It's positively gorgeous!
It is such a treat to visit your blog and your charming porch. It makes my day every time. Thank you and best wishes, Ardith
I almost cried! Wow! I want my backporch to look like that. It'll be the last room on the list, but in time, it too can be beautiful!
I was wondering what region you live in (sorry if I missed this elsewhere), are you able to enjoy your porch year-round?
Omy I know you have read all the compliments..all true-the fantastic pics and the whole setting…I just want to add this: I SO LOVE THE BLOG TITLE..that's the first thing to draw me [again and again] to a blog..then the BLOG TITLE BANNR/PICTURE..we all know we cannot faithfully read each and every blog's content..but I regularly drop by for a glimpse, a tease a reminder of another breathtaking setting and another truly creative lady!! See ya~
I am new to your blog and absolutely love it! Like everyone else, I also love your screened in porch. I have two porches (front and side) that I am wanting to have screened in so I am taking pictures for my son! My porches are similar to yours but not as deep and I have the same railing as you do. It is just a matter of framing in and sealing to keep the critters out.
How wide are your screen windows (between the posts)? Did you have to special order the screen in order to get it that wide?
Oh, and I have a cat named Max, too!!! Only he's an outdoor cat 🙂
Look forward to spending more time reading your wonderful blogs!
Thanks, Velma
Hi Velma,
Thanks so much! So happy you're here reading!
Actually, my contractor measured and had all the screens custom made for the openings he built. The ones across the length of the porch are around 70 inches wide and the one behind the swing is 81 inches wide and the small one near the house is 45 inches wide. The screens are designed so if one gets damaged or ripped, the whole screen can be lifted out and taken in to be re-screened, so the screen guy wouldn't have to come to the house. I could just take it in to him.
Hope this info helps. 🙂
Susan
I love your wraparound porch – it is so charmingly decorated – it looks like a lovely B&B – and your sweet cat has won my heart!
Thanks for sharing – Happy Memorial Day Weekend and blessings to you and your loved ones!
Linda (aka beachside cottage)
love your porch but I have a question what to do when it rains to protect everything on the porch mine really gets soaked sometimes thanks for all your inspiration
Hi Linda,
Thanks so much! Here's a link that explains about that:
http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/p/faq.html
Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂
Stunning!
I'm new to
your blog. What a beautiful way to meet you, on your porch. All I can say is, it's stunning, beautiful, and so breath taking. Looking forward to more. God bless!
Hi Mikki, Thanks so much! It's great meeting you and I hope you come back and visit often. 🙂
Susan, you provide so much inspiration with every post, but today I had to include your porch in my Porch Inspirations. It's way beyond lovely.
Thanks so much for all you share.
Oh how envious I am of your porch! We built a house 4 years ago and still don't have a porch, patio or deck…maybe soon I hope.
I've just found your blog and can't wait to look at all your pretties!
I'm in love – we're coming for christmas LOL 😉
Oh my goodness! Your porch is a gorgeous retreat! Love it!
Lee Ann
Hi Susan,
I found your website through Susan Branch’s Blog. Your title “Between Naps on the Porch” caught my attention! 🙂 We screened in our front porch so my house kitty could join us outside and have discovered in the process we’ve added a 3-season room to our house! Our house is such that there are doors to the porch from the kitchen and the living room and it’s allowed us to remove the screen doors so that we can just walk from one space to another. I’m getting some wonderful ideas from your porch for mine. You have a beautiful home. Thank you for sharing it!
Hi Cathy! Shhh, don’t tell anyone but that’s one of the main reasons I added a porch…wanted Max kitty to be able to enjoy the outdoors a bit more. We had one built on our first house for the same reason…we had three kitties back then. Your layout sounds so similar…the kitchen and family room open onto the porch and it creates a nice flow that way. It is very much like a 3 season room….even nice out on some winter days. Thanks so much, Cathy! Great meeting another porch/kitty person! 🙂
Do you have plans for the porch? We will be starting our porch soon and LOVE LOVE your porch! It would work perfectly off our house although our house is one level. So gorgeous~
Hi Gayle, No, I’m afraid there aren’t any plans. Check the FAQ, though. I have lots of info under there about the size and construction. You would love it and they work great for one level homes. If just feels like a seamless flow to the outdoors.
