Welcome to the 833rd Tablescape Thursday! After months and months, the kitchen is finally back together. The desk was rebuilt and the refrigerator is no longer sitting in the middle of the breakfast room. Please excuse the darkness of these photos, they were taken early this morning just as it was getting daylight out.
The breakfast room table and chairs are back where they belong underneath the breakfast room chandelier. The workmen finished on Tuesday and I spent Wednesday putting everything back. What a crazy few months it has been! It feels surreal seeing everything back in place—like the last few months were just a dream. I still haven’t placed the picture board with family photos back over the desk. Right now, I’m not even sure where it is—probably upstairs someplace.
Last night, I took a bold step! I finally made the decision to order this table and chairs for the Dollhouse dining room. This set continually sells out and unfortunately, my timing was off and it’s currently sold out again. Usually, delivery dates are just 3-4 days out, but right now delivery is showing available for the middle of October. Unfortunately, they don’t deliver to Ohio, so I will need to rent a U-haul truck to take it to Ohio myself. That’s okay though, it will give me a chance to take a bunch more stuff I’ve been planning on taking up anyway.
I’m seriously thinking of ordering this round dining set below for the breakfast room here in Georgia and taking my current wicker breakfast set (purchased before I added on a screened porch and furnished it with wicker) to Ohio for the small sunroom there. If I do rent a U-haul truck to take the dining room set I just purchased up to the Dollhouse, that would be a great time to take the wicker breakfast set up, as well. These are just a few of the ideas I have floating around in my head. I’ll keep you posted if I do buy this set below. I would love to have the backs and seats reupholstered in a pretty fabric one day.
For this week’s Tablescape Thursday, I have a wonderful end-of-summer table to share that makes me wish summer would last forever! Brenda set the happiest table and every single element of her table has me smiling! You’re going to love the centerpiece—it is hysterical!’ Brenda said, “We visited Italy this past June and we stayed on the Almafi Coast in Vietri Sul Mare. Vietri sul Mare is a comune (municipality) in the province of Salerno, in the Italian region of Campania. It is situated just west of Salerno, separated from the Port of Salerno by only a harbor wall.”
“The town is known for its polychrome ceramics, a tradition since at least the 15th century. Vietri Sul Mare is considered to be the gateway to the Amalfi Coast. There are so many shops to explore and choose what you would like as a souvenir to take home. I looked and looked and decided upon these dishes (which we had shipped home) as they were very unique and made by a local artisan who has been in business for many, many years. They are signed by the artist as well.”
Before we look more closely at the dinnerware, check out Brenda’s super fun centerpiece! Is that a fishing net in the chandelier above?
And there’s a very big, very hungry fish just below it!
Looks like he’s found dinner and is going for it! Brenda found her big fish in a local garden shop a few years back. When you see the dinnerware Brenda chose for her table, you’ll see just how perfect he is for this table setting! 🙂
Brenda found the wonderful fish-shaped utensil holders in the same store where she found this beautiful handmade, handpainted Vietri Sul Mare dinnerware.
I love the vibrancy of the colors!
Notice the fish-shaped flatware holder—sooo cute!
Do you recognize the flatware Brenda chose for this table?
I have a set of this sailboat flatware and love using it in nautical/beachy table settings. (Flatware is available here: Nautical Sailboat Flatware.)
Ha! The fish on the bowls are having a fish snack just like the big fish in the centerpiece!
Gorgeous platter! I can see why Brenda chose this wonderful dinnerware as a way to remember their trip to the Amalfi coast. The colors and the design are so beautiful and so vibrant!
Another wonderful platter!
Brenda thinks she found her pretty aqua glassware on Amazon. I didn’t see this exact stemware, but did find some very pretty aqua glassware here: Aqua Glassware.
Thanks so much to Brenda for sharing this wonderful seaside table with the most beautiful handmade, handpainted dinnerware, all the way from the Amalfi Coast! What a fabulous treasure to enjoy for many years to come!
Looking forward to the beautiful table settings linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!
If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.
What a fun and a little outrageous this tablescape is! Great dishes and that fish! How fun!
It is and that’s my favorite kind! 🙂
Oh, my goodness! What a fabulous table—the dinnerware is so vibrant! I love the little fish-shaped flatware pockets! They would be perfect on the table at our lake house, when I serve a fish fry.
Aren’t those the cutest? I have never seen those before and now I need some!
So happy for you that your kitchen is back to normal! That must have been stressful. And Brenda’s tablescape certainly evokes that beachy, Amalfi coast feel. The colors are eye-popping! Mr. Fish jumping out of the water (with net waiting) is hilarious. Tom will get his workout bringing all those dishes to the basement, lol. Thanks, Susan and Brenda.
Thanks! It is so nice to just have things back where they belong! The centerpiece is so creative! I love it, too!
Several years ago, after seeing the nautical flatware on your blog, I purchased it. I absolutely love it with my summer table settings. Thank you for all your very creative ideas that I occasionally copy 🙂
I think your new table will look beautiful in the Dollhouse. And, the chairs would really “pop” with a splash of color.
Have a great day!
Thanks so much, Susan! Just gotta figure out how to drive a Uhaul from here to Ohio. Ha!
I love the rectangle dining table you are buying for the doll house!! So pretty! I also love the round it! The white looks so homey! Can’t wait to see the finished results.
Thanks so much, Sheri! Looking forward to sharing it once it’s here and I can get it to Ohio.

Oh is that the cutest table?! I love that fish centerpiece, and Brenda’s Italian dinnerware is darling. You’re right – every little touch is perfect! Thanks to both of you for sharing. I’m so glad your kitchen is back to normal and you ordered your dining set. Two big loads off your mind. It’s so fun to follow along! Thank you so much, as always, for hosting, and Happy Thursday!
Thanks, Barbara! It truly feels weird having a normal kitchen again! lol Happy Thursday, almost Friday!
Hi Susan,
I’m enjoying your experience with the Dollhouse. I love the chandelier shades in your breakfast room. Would you mind sharing where you purchased those?
Thank you!
I found those in a local store many, many years ago called Grand Harbour. Unfortunately, they went out of business many years ago. I really miss that store, I think they had locations elsewhere, not sure why they closed. That’s the same place I purchased the wicker set in my breakfast room and the island that I used to have in my laundry room that I recently moved down to the basement.
Something…smells fishy here…what’s cookin?? ❤️ the tablescape (especially the fish…I have that planterx2, & the silver utensils, I have those as well.) Great minds & “all that.”
The “Amalfi Coast” was/is out top 3 places we have visited…yikes, 28 years ago… franki
It’s time to go back, Franki! I visited in 2015 but it was part of a tour so I didn’t have near enough time there. Would love to go back again!
Susan, if you haven’t you should listen to Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt on audiobook. One of the most delightful books ever!
Sabrina, I’m always looking for a great audio book, so thanks for that suggestion!
What a colorful and fun table Brenda did…I could almost feel the boat rocking and hear the waves splashing. Loved the centerpiece especially….so creative! I would love to tour the Amalfi Coast!!!
Congrats on having your kitchen done too.
lol I love that scene you just described, Toni! I never made it to the beach this year so that sounds wonderful!
Thanks! It’s great having life back to normal here!
I love both dining sets. You may have said but would you tell me where you bought them? I may be looking for something to replace our old set soon. Thank you. Your home will be perfect!
You can see them here: https://www.roomstogo.com/search/?page=1&query=french%20market%20dining&filters=true
There are a lot of Rooms to Go stores here in Georgia so I visited one and saw the round table with chairs in person. I thought it looked really nice and it felt very sturdy. I really liked it and thought it looked exactly as it does in the photos online. Unfortunately, they don’t ship to all 50 states which is super annoying. I think they only ship or deliver to: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
Thank you so much, Susan! We do have Rooms To Go here in TN. (That is annoying that you can’t get the dining furniture shipped to Ohio.) I appreciate the info and also thank you so much for sharing all your resources on your wonderful blog. The Dollhouse is gorgeous!
Thanks so much, Beth! ♥
Susan, What did they do with your furniture when they redid your floors? Did they move it room to room as they worked? I had a kitchen leak and getting new flooring. They mentioned putting things in a Pod. I’m not crazy about that and not sure our HOA will allow it. Have you mentioned putting leak detectors behind the fridge and other places? Everything looks beautiful in your house. I know you’re happy all the work is finally done. We are looking at weeks before completion. Love the dining tables.
No, my hardwood flooring is the kind that is installed unfinished and finished on site, so it runs continuously with no breaks through the whole downstairs part of my home. So that meant all the furniture had to be moved out at once. They moved the majority of it to the garage and some went into the laundry room. It was there for around 5-7 days. Thankfully the temps were mild so the furniture was fine being in the garage during that time. I covered the pieces near the garage door with blankets so when the garage was up, it wouldn’t have the sun beating down on it and fading it. I moved all the small items to the upstairs and some into the garage. It was quite the ordeal!!! If I ever need to redo kitchen flooring in a house, I will go with tile. It’s insane that all the floors downstairs had to be refinished because of a small leak behind the fridge! 🙁
Thank you for the reply. I can relate to the inconvenience and moving everything. At least they didn’t try to make you patch your flooring and have it not match. Someone told me they had a leak that affected their stairway and insurance only wanted to cover the affected steps.
Thankfully, my insurance company was really good about the whole restoration process. They never complained or balked at anything that the restoration team and my flooring guy recommended. I’ve been with them 39 years now and this was the first somewhat big issue I’ve had. It was big to me but probably small to them.
