You know that children’s book, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? Ever since I decided that this is the summer I’m going to whip the backyard into shape, I’ve been accumulating a lot of great gardening tools—like two shovels, including one designed especially for cutting through roots.

I purchased an awesome DeWalt fan (used it 4 times already for baseball games, assembling furniture in the garage, fireworks watching, and gardening), limb trimmers, a rake, and a hedge trimmer that I’ve not opened yet since I’m still trying to decide if I want to venture into hedge trimming or leave that to the professionals. I added post-hole diggers to this random collection recently since I have plans to add a dovecote to the front garden, as I’ve done several times in Georgia. (Read more about that here: Landscape Makeover.)

Just like that mouse, I now have other pressing needs: Where am I going to store all these fabulous gardening tools? Currently, they are scattered here and there in the garage, and I find myself continually moving them around to reach other important things I need, like kitty strollers. lol

If you’ve been following BNOTP for a while, you know that ever since I completed my garage renovation in Georgia, I have developed this slight obsession with keeping my garage clutter-free. I’ve always been a bit of an organization nut. When I need something, I want to be able to put my hands on it immediately. And when it’s not in use, I prefer it to be out of sight. I’m looking forward to the day I can give the Dollhouse garage a full makeover with new painting, lighting, and the same epoxy flooring I had installed in the Georgia garage. FYI: I’ve gotten a couple of quotes, and prices for having that done here in Ohio are double what I paid in Georgia. Double! Everything is more expensive here!

Anyway, I’ve always dreamed of having an adorable gardening shed in my backyard. In my dreams, it has a fairytale cottage feel, maybe with a little window with a window box or shelf underneath for flowers. The only time I’ve come across sheds like that online, they were always custom-built for the homeowner. I’ve often wondered why 99% of all gardening sheds available on the market always look completely utilitarian. Why hasn’t a company produced a charming shed that, in addition to holding tools, is also a lovely addition to the garden?
I don’t know why it took so long, but after hours of searching and reading online reviews, the search algorithm finally showed me what I’d been hoping to find. I’m sure my eyes must have bugged out when I first saw this adorable gardening shed pop up during one of my many searches. This shed and the others made by this company are so unique! I would love to purchase one in the next few months.

Can you envision a pretty wreath hanging on the door of this precious garden shed? Oh my gosh, my heart is breaking just thinking about that! 💔 Unfortunately, this one is currently out of stock online. I love its charming trim, and I especially love that it doesn’t look like an outhouse, which is how so many of the real-wood sheds I’ve come across look. No one wants an outhouse in their backyard! Ha! This shed is constructed completely of Fir Wood and is made right here in the United States—in Oregon if I’m remembering correctly. After I fell in love with this one, I found a few more that stole my heart.

Love the arched door and the window in this adorable garden shed. It’s about time someone made a playhouse for us grownups who love gardening! 😉 All the sheds have shelves inside, with plenty of space for larger/longer tools like shovels and rakes. Imagine a couple of small, flower-filled pots on that shelf! I’d have to hang a string of colorful lights across the top at Christmastime, maybe even outline the window. 🎄

Here’s how the interior looks. I think the new cushions I just purchased for my outdoor patio set would fit on the shelves. (Storage Shed is available here: Wood Storage Shed.)

This one is designed with a pyramidal-shaped roof with two windows/shelves. Love its cute finial.

Inside, two additional shelves can be lowered if more shelf space is needed. (Storage Shed is available here: Wood Storage Shed.)

I thought this one was really cute, too. I wonder how the windows are constructed. I doubt it’s actual glass or window screening. Maybe they are made using strong plexiglass.

I wish more companies would make adorable storage sheds like these! This is brilliant and definitely fills a need for those of us who, in addition to storage, want something well-made and attractive. (Storage Shed is available here: Wood Storage Shed.)

I can’t wait to order one of these sheds. They are exactly what I’ve been hoping to find. Happy Gardening!
