This Magical Christmas Dinner Begins Here in the Foyer with a Very Special Memory

Welcome to the 691st Tablescape Thursday!

I have a truly beautiful table to share with you for this week’s Tablescape Thursday. Jackie invited us into her home this week and before we enter the dining room, let’s pause a moment to enjoy this wonderful, memory-filled centerpiece she has created for her entry table here in the foyer.

Sled Centerpiece for Entry Foyer

Jackie said, “This past summer, my Mom gave me my sled from when I was a child. I knew I wanted to make it a centerpiece on my entry table in the foyer.”

“There is also a picture of her and me as a baby in this exact sled on the table.”

“The other pictures around the table are Christmas pictures from the past of my kids with Santa. I just love looking at them and reminiscing of past Christmas times!”

Sledding Memories, Nostalgia

What a beautiful, inviting entrance Jackie has created for her dining room. Seeing this makes me want to leave a bit of lit garland up all winter long! It would definitely make winter feel less dreary, wouldn’t it?

Christmas Table Setting in Red and White, Beautiful

I really love how Jackie has embellished the back of each of her dining room chairs–so special for Christmas!

The back of each chair is wrapped with a festive, red, damask sash. Sprigs of gold foliage add the perfect accent!

Jackie adorned her dining room chandelier with red Christmas Poinsettias and sparkling gold and crystal beading, adding to the regal feel of this special Christmas setting.

Christmas Dining in Red and Gold, Festive Christmas Chandelier

The lovely painting over the sideboard works so perfectly with all the holiday decor! I love it!

Christmas Table Setting, Red and Gold

Jackie’s beautiful china is Lenox, Eternal. Her gold flatware is Marchesa Imperial Caviar, also by Lenox. Surrounded by all this beautiful red and gold, I would feel like royalty dining here!

I can just imagine the fun when everyone pops open their Christmas crackers!

Chandelier Decorated for Christmas

Jackie decorated her china cabinet for Christmas, too. Did you notice the garland was lit in the evening view earlier in this post?

More festive touches for this room–the little houses inside the cabinet are lit in the evening, creating an enchanting little Christmas village.

Thanks so much to Jackie for sharing her foyer and dining room so beautifully decorated for Christmas. I know Jackie’s family will feel so special as they celebrate Christmas in this magical space!

If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate.

That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. (Yep, that really happens, unfortunately.) If you see a post that’s not table-setting related, let me know and I’ll remove it.

Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please link up table setting or table setting related posts only for Tablescape Thursday.

    Wow, just beautiful, Jacki.

  3. Beautiful Christmas table…..love all the red! Nothing says Christmas like the color red! So inviting. Merry Christmas!

    • Jackie Allen says

Hi Toni, This year I had a vision that I wanted a lot of Red in the dining room for Christmas – I think it is very pretty too. Next year I think I may try the Peacock theme like Norma did with Turquoise and Purple linens. Maybe I can even pick up some one sale this week! Hope you had a nice Christmas.

  4. Dawne Marie Anderson says

Fabulous! Love the chair detail. Looks like a country Christmas! Homey!

    • Jackie Allen says

Thank you Dawne Marie – I really enjoyed putting it together this year!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Have a great New Year! – Jackie

  5. Love how you did the Christmas village in the cabinet, Jackie. Would love to see the illuminated version…maybe next year!

    • Jackie Allen says

Mia- Will do – Next year I will take a picture with the doors open and lights on the houses. Merry Christmas – Jackie

  6. The entrance to the dining room and the dining room itself are stunning. What I especially like is that Jackie used very tall candle holders as part of her table decor. The height allows the guests to be able to enjoy the beauty of the entire tablescape and still be able to see each other. Gorgeous as well as thoughtful.

    • Jackie Allen says

Thank you Maureen – Yes – I agree about the taller centerpieces. Each year my daughter always removes the centerpieces so she can talk to others across the table – well – not this year! Hope you had a Merry Christmas. – Jackie

      • I did, Jackie! Thank you. Hope you did as well. I took a cue from your tall candle holders and used a pair of tall red mercury candle holders that I had for my Christmas table. My husband had to slide the one on his end slightly to the side so he could see my son at the other end (who also slid his), but we didn’t have to take them off! –Maureen

  7. TORRI D TROUTMAN says

I love the little houses in the cabinet ! That’s a great idea for people with cats who would knock over everything or carry off the little pieces. I’m going to try that for my Christmas village next year!

    • Jackie Allen says

Torri – you are right – it keeps them nice and safe. I am expecting my first Grandchild in early January – I am can just imagine how I am going to have to baby proof the house next Christmas. Happy Holidays! – Jackie

  8. Bobbi Duncan says

Love the memories foyer table idea–it truly is the memories that make Christmas so extra special. The tablescape looks so elegant & festive. On a side note, I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you about our Dicken’s village–we’ve been swamped w/ company coming & going & that will continue until January 1st., but I have been sneaking in bits of time for some pictures of it and will email them to you ASAP. Which email would you like me to send them to? Susan, I hope you have a lovely Christmas and all good things in 2022. Hugs!

    • Jackie Allen says

Thank you Bobbi – yes – it is all about the memories – I always tear up this time of year thinking of wonderful past Christmas memories. Happy Holidays! – Jackie

  9. Susan, did Walmart have a new Heritage Christmas plate this year? I hit a deer with my car and wasn’t able to get to the store and I know you collect them too.
    Thanks

    • Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry about your car accident. Hope you are okay! I never saw them available online and I checked a bunch of times. I haven’t visited the store in the last few months, so not sure if they had them in-store, but they were never available online. I was looking forward to seeing what new patterns they had available.

  10. Merry Christmas, Susan! Thank you for another year of inspiring tables.

  11. Very magical. Love the family pictures of past Christmas too.

  13. Again, I’m wowed! Such a beautiful entry table with the sled on it, what a thoughtful gift/keepsake! Love all the photo’s of the kids with Santa going around the sled, that has to be so fun reliving all those memories of Christmas pasts. I love it! • Jackie Allen says

Thank you for the very nice compliments Brenda! I just love Christmas time. This past weekend I spent some time at Home Goods buying up some more Valentine’s Day decorations. I have such a void in my house when I take Christmas down – I needed to have some more Valentine décor on hand to fill it right away! Hope you have a wonderful New Year! – Jackie

      • There is always a big void after Christmas comes down Jackie! I hope you found some great buys for Valentines! Happy New Year and Hugs, Brenda
