Trash to Treasure: Upcycled Kleenex Box

If you read my earlier post today, you know I have fun day planned today!  I’ll be posting six (6) times today and each post will feature a wonderful “Before and After” project I’ve spotted during a previous Met Monday or from my travels around the Blogsphere.

Instead of lumping all the projects into one big post, I’ve created 6 small posts that will go up throughout the day at the following times: 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3 PM and 5 PM.

So stop back by BNOTP during the day to catch the latest post.  You’re going to love all the Before and Afters!

Before and After Project No. 5:

One of the best parts about hosting a Before and After party is visiting the amazing Before and Afters each week.  The creativity of those who link up each week is truly awe inspiring…like Tammy at the blog Southern Flair Crafts.

When Tammy used the last tissue from from the tissue box, instead of tossing it out, she decided to put some jute yarn she already had to good use.

She covered the box and then lined it with a nice canvas fabric.  She beefed up the bottom of the box with additional jute.

Now she had the perfect spot to tuck away hand cloths for her guests.

Wow!  And it all started with an old Kleenex box that most of us would just toss out without a second thought.

You can read the tutorial detailing how Tammy made her jute and canvas storage basket/box at her blog, Southern Flair Crafts.

  1. You could also use a pretty fabric that matches something else in your room to cover your tissue box and that would be oh so cool. :o)

  2. Hi…wow are you ever ambitious. 6 posts in a day? You are really tireless.

I love this idea – so simple, yet very functional. One I have to try!
