Before and After Project No. 6:
Kristin at My Uncommon Slice of Surburbia kept a journal for years filled with pictures of the kitchens she loved. She especially loved the kitchen in the gorgeous beach house in the movie, Something Gotta Give. (You can tour the beach house in the movie here: Something Gotta Give Movie House Tour)
I immediately knew I’d found a kindred spirit when I was reading about Kristin’s kitchen renovation because she loves white kitchens, especially a cottage kitchen. The transformation of her kitchen was done on a budget, even down to finding all her appliances on Craig’s list and getting her lighting at 75% off. Impressive!
Painting Stained Kitchen Cabinets:
After: This kitchen makeover is nothing short of amazing! One of the biggest changes Kristin made was by painting her stained cabinetry.
Stop by My Uncommon Slice of Surburbia for additional pictures and all the details of how Kristen completed her renovation without breaking the bank.
Wow – what a great job. I have to pop over to her blog and congratulate her. What a change…thanks for posting Susan!

Hi BJ, it just went up at 10:00 It’s the first post below the slider. I’ll add the TT logo to the front of it so it’s a bit easier to find. Here’s the link: https://betweennapsontheporch.net/lots-of-new-old-tablescapes-to-enjoy-the-203rd-tablescape-thursday/
What an amazing after, it’s stunning! I wish I had those resources….living in a smaller suburban area, our Craigslist is limited. Great job!!
You would never in a million years know that was the same kitchen or cabinets. Amazing!
Amazing transformation.
I was a little miffed when I found out that the kitchen from “Something’s Gotta Give” was merely a constructed set. 🙁 Oh well … it was a pretty set and still makes me drool whenever I see it.
Dayle, I know whatcha mean…always a bit disappointing to find out some of our fave movie houses are sets. But the good thing is we can still use them for inspiration. The kitchen in Something’s Gotta Give has been the “example” for many a kitchen renovation. 🙂
