With warm temperatures finally arriving and summer on its way, it’s time for a summer cottage book. If you saw my Monday post, you know I’ve got beach fever these days big time.
In the BNOTP Library: Waterside Cottages
Author: Barbara Jacksier
Published: Gibbs Smith, August 2009
Hardcover: 160 pages
Book size: 10.5 x 8.1 x 0.8
3 Things I Like About This Book:
- Includes photos and ideas for homes on the lake as well as oceanside.
- Nice variety of interiors from elegant to casual.
- Cottages featured vary from those with a mostly white pallet to those with lots of color. I loved the variety and decor styles featured.

Bonjour,
Merci de partager avec nous ces beaux ouvrages et en ce qui me concerne me les faire connaître.
Gros bisous
Thanks, Martine! Happy Springtime to you!
Hi Susan–I own this book; it is one of my fave beach books. I have marked with many skinny stickies ideas that I like and would want to adapt to use in my beachy back porch decorating. Thanks for featuring it!
I love it, too Ruth…really makes me crave summer that much more. 🙂
Hi, I have this book and love it! It’s actually on my round side table in my family room. Next to it is a shabby chic price of actual drift wood from the beach! Love your blog!
Best,
Cathy
Thanks, Cathy! What a cute way to display the book with a bit of drift wood…love that!
Sounds as if this one is “made for me”…since…I’m “trying” to convert our cabin to cottage!! franki
Thanks Susan~I am always on the lookout for beachy decor ideas for our little house on the Gulf coast. I love amazon and their look inside feature! We just finished a little addition that once I get the finishing touches on I will be linking to Met Monday~Don’t you love the picket fence flip flop bed?!!
Jenna, I love it! There are so many great rooms in this book. I love the vintage sand pail collection and adore the room that’s pictured on the back cover. I also love the screened porch on pages 114 and 115 that way up in the air. The view is amazing, too! Def one of my favorite books!
Wow, Susan!
All those books’ covers (but the one by G. Hyams, for obvious reasons…) 🙂 look like
pictures/photographs I would frame! 🙂
~Hugs to you~
Cecilia
I know. 🙂 Pictures inside are wonderful, too!
It feels as if you searched your library for the perfect book just for me! (even wearing those colors on the cover today). Have just ordered it. Thanks, Susan, for “checking out” this book and sharing it. Can’t wait to have it in my hands.
I’m so glad, Mia! You are going to love it! These book posts are such distraction for me. I just want to sit and read my books instead of work! lol
Have it now. Love it! Thanks 🙂
Awesome…beautiful book! 🙂
I have this book and absolutely love it. I’m going with sea tones in the guest room and have been looking at this one for inspiration.
