Christmas story house!!
Yup! 🙂 I just got back home…what a long drive!
That would be the Christmas Story house in Cleveland Ohio! I grew up there.
Sandy, that’s right! 🙂
How can anyone look cute NO MATTER WHERE they ARE!!!??? Of course I want to know where you’ve been but mostly, just to know you’ve “been” someplace fun. I’ve been really concerned about you. If you leave out a comma, I think I start to worry. Been following you THAT long.
Lynn
Awww, thanks Lynn! Just got back home a few minutes ago…long drive and glad to be out of the car at last.
Hmmm, touring some kind of history thingie? I rednecognize that washing machine. A very similar model nearly took my whole hand. I still have a ridge in my right middle fingernail that splits when it gets any length to it at all. From being twisted by the rollers. Thank goodness Granny was pretty quick on her feet, and ran over and hit the release before it took hand and arm. I’ll just never get around a wringer washing machine again, heheh. Not the business end anyways.
My arm did get into ours she I was five! It stopped at my elbow, but I still remember the terror I had, both from the machine and from fright at the wrath of mom I would get. I was too scared to cry for help, but had to, or I would have been there stuck for who knows how long. Guess mom took pity on me, because all I got was a stern talking to!
Yikes! I wonder how many folks that happened to before they discontinued that style of machine. Scary!
Me, too! Almost 3/4 of my arm got pulled in one. My mother banged on the top of it and it popped up. Good thing it has a safety mechanism.
Hi……i don’t have a clue…but…i LOVE that sink & faucet…
Isn’t it awesome!
I think I said this before, but you look so young. 🙂 So glad you are able to get to Ohio often.
Awww, thanks, Madonna! I felt like a kid the whole time I was there! 🙂
You have been to OHIO to see Court, and stopped off at the Christmas Story house, you lucky girl! I hear the tour is really fun!
How is your family doing? I hope you post lots of pictures.
Yup! You totally guessed it, Mary! I’ve been dying to see the house in person and it was worth the trip there!
The Smithsonian
Good guess, Pat! Someone else mentioned something about Julia Child’s kitchen being there. I need to visit the Smithsonian again…haven’t been there in many years.
I JUST said the same thing to my husband, “she looks so cute (and young!!)” I remember those machines well…ugh, ringer washing machine and boiling water on the stove to fill er up. franki
Really?! You had to boil the water in advance? Oh my gosh, we have it so good now!
I think you have been “kidnapped” by the Jolly Green Giant!!!! But you look happy so perhaps we should forget about
calling 911! Others, more astute, seem to think you are in Cleveland, Ohio. of all places. Enjoy and please share with
us your adventure.
LOL!
You are at the Christmas Story house in Cleveland, OH. Only an hour from me!! 🙂
Yup! 🙂
I don’t have any idea where you are. But I read the comments…and I’ve never heard of the Christmas House! So please…lots of pictures! Safe travels! 😉
Coming soon…promise!
You look as though you’re having some fun in a cute vintage kitchen somewhere in the USA
Yup, it was such a fun tour!
A Christmas Story! Randy’s hideaway in the kitchen! Love that movie!!
Yes! 🙂
LOL, now what were you doing crouched under the sink? :0) You look adorable. Also, I love the fact that you’re wearing pearls with casual clothing–it’s very European, very stylish.
Elena, I love that necklace and have been wearing it almost nonstop since I bought it recently. Didn’t know I was being all European! 🙂
I knew the pic looked familiar. Never knew there was a actual house….thought it was set scenes. Have to laugh, the mixer looks so familiar. My mom had one Sunbeam I think, then I I heredited it until one day the cord started to smoke. I still have the bowls though.
The whole kitchen is furnished with vintage appliances, can’t wait to share them all!
It looks like the Christmas Story house to me, and I see I’m not the only one with that guess!
Yup, that’s it!
The Christmas Story house……how wonderful!!! You look just too cute under the sink! This is a precious picture. If I had been there with you, we both would be having a wonderful giggle over this picture. Just adorable!!! I am so glad that you have been to see Court. I hope you have hugged, cuddled, kissed and tickled him to your heart’s content. Can’t wait for you to post pics. I just spent 6 days in Salt Lake City and toured the city. Didn’t tour any houses but I was wishing you were there because there are some awesome 1800’s houses that are just to die for.
Linda, you would have loved it! I had so much fun with him…so hard to leave this morning.
Like everyone else, I KNEW you were at Ralphie’s house. I will be looking for the “leg lamp” in your window this coming Christmas!
lol I had my picture taken beside it. My neighbors would love it if I displayed one, don’t you think? 🙂
I didn’t know the Christmas Story House was also the Fountain of Youth!
Ha! Don’t I wish! 🙂 I would make a pilgrimage at least once a year in that case! lol
When my great neice was about 2 I took care of her and every afternoon she took her blanket and got under my kitchen sink and took her nap. My sink is in the corner, so there was lots of room, The washer looks to be in perfect condition. Sometimes when the overalls and throw rugs are extra dirty, I wish for it again.
ENJOY
Carol, how cute is that! Kids love hidey holes!
LOL… the house from the movie A Christmas Story! You are so tiny! You must have gone to Ohio!!
Safe travels!
Yup, that’s where I was…just got back. Such a long, long trip…glad to be home! Thanks, Liz!
You are so tiny! Cute! My Grandmother had a sink just like that when I was growing up. My Mother in law had a washer just like that and my Mom had the mixer which I had for years and just gave it away. Hope to see more pictures soon. Have Fun!
Yeah, you do look too young to have a grandbaby! *jealous*
Aww, thanks Denise!
I don’t know, but I do know that I love your strand of pearls! I would wear pearls to bed with nothing else if I could, oh, I have!
LOL! Too funny! Have gotten so many compliments on the necklace.
“Daddy’s gonna kill Ralphie!” I LOVE that movie!!! http://youtu.be/8xKaXfsfgYg
Exactly! Thanks for the link, Claudia…love that movie!
Susan was driving along a quaint street one day, when she spied a house. A house she just couldn’t resist. She decided to take q quick peek in the windows, but the unlocked door drew her in. What a wonderful house! But then she heard a noise, and quickly hid under the sink. Fortunately, the owner was a huge fan of BNOTP, and not the giant from Jack in the Beanstalk. Susan’s smile was so charming, the owner simply took a picture and now keeps a copy of it on her mantel. The end. 😀
LOL! That sounds like something I might do! You guys might have to come bail me out of jail one day when my curiosity gets the better of me! 😉
I haven’t the slightest idea, Susan, but you must be very petite to fit under that sink!
It was pretty roomy under there…getting out was a challenge! lol
If it’s the house from Christmas Story I can’t wait to read your blog. It’s one of my favorite movies.
Can’t wait to share the pics, Judy!
SUSAN – You are cordially and lovingly invited to stay here in Columbus! I am 5 minutes from the #1 voted Zoo in America! I WILL HAVE TEA, I WOULD LOVE IT!
Sincerely,
Michele
Oh, I would have loved that Michele! It was a whirlwind trip. One of these days I’m going and I’m going to stay for a while. I was afraid to be gone too long since all my plants on the deck require daily watering in the heat. Thankfully we got rain while I was gone so everything was still alive.
When I saw the picture I immediately said “Ralphie’s House!!!!” I can’t wait to read all about your adventure!!!
Susan, you guessed it! Amazing! I wasn’t sure if anyone would recognize it. Just shows how well loved that movie is!
Susan, you nut! You look like you’re having a ball! 🙂 I’m so
envious that you got to see your sweet little (no doubt a LOT
bigger now) Court and I hope you post pics of him and you.
Hee … glad you got to see one of your favorite houses from one
of your favorite movies. 😀 Drive safe!
LOL Yup, I am! 🙂
Yep. Christmas Story House…but to answer your question…you’re actually sitting under a sink. 😀
Did you get plenty of snuggle time with the little sweetie?
Oh, I did. He is the cutest, most hugable size right now…absolute a doll baby! And he laughs at everything…so much fun!
In a house from the 1950’s? you look so cute…LOL!
FABBY
Thanks, I had so much fun! Can’t wait to share the pics I took!
You are in Cleveland, Ohio at the Museum-landmark of the Christmas Story house. I *liked* their page on FB and would love to visit someday! In the meantime I’ll just live vicariously through you!!!
Are you hiding under Julia Child’s kitchen sink in the Smithsonian?
Jill, that’s a great guess. I would love to see that…had no idea her kitchen was on display there. I haven’t been there in so many years…I need to go back!
I love this movie. My fave Christmas movie!
I love it, too Debbie…good, clean wholesome movie…rare these days!
Susan, you are such a cutie.
Aww, thanks, Tina! Cutie or Crazy…jury is still out on which it is. 🙂
So adorable!
I never would have known, but thankfully you have smart readers and I could figure it out from the comments. You look adorable though!
KC
Oh I love it! The pot the Mom used to boil cabbage in is sitting in the sink! I love love love that old Sunbeam mixer. I have one I picked up at an estate sale and sent off for refurbishing and a paint job and I use mine constantly. It brings back lots of memories from my childhood – my Mom used one like that. I do love those old farmhouse sinks. You must post pics of the grandbaby when you get a chance.
Truthfully, my first thought was OMG, she looks so young and cute! My next thought was I could never get up sitting like that.lol Glad that you enjoyed that wonderful trip.
