A Beautiful Peacock-Themed Table Setting For The Holidays

Welcome to the 849th Tablescape Thursday! Happy New Year! I hope 2025 is off to a wonderful start for you and your family! Over the years I’ve shared several beautiful table settings from Warren. Recently, I heard from Warren who said, “Traditionally, I have set my “Candy Cane” tablescape for our big family celebration on Christmas Eve. This year, I wanted to step out of the box and use a different color scheme; I settled on peacock blue. As usual, this tablescape is a bit of “smoke and mirrors” created using inexpensive items, which I had on hand; a variety of family heirlooms; and 3 new items (total cost of $79.)”Peacock Table Setting in Blue

“I found the peacock table runners on Amazon. They were on sale for $8/runner on Black Friday.”

“The runner was a little short for my table so I bought 2 and overlapped them in the middle of the table. The overlap is covered by the centerpiece. ($16)”Blue themed Tablescape, Peacock Themed

“The main focus of the centerpiece is the large candle, which I decoupaged with peacock images. The candle is set on an inverted cut glass bowl, which covers two sets of white string lights. The cut glass bowl makes the light sparkle – really nice effect.”Blue themed Tablescape, Peacock Themed

Warren modified the centerpiece later for a slightly different look for this table setting. Beautiful!Decoupaged Peacock Pillar CandleDecoupaged Peacock Pillar Candle

“Two sets of chargers were purchased on Amazon ($40). The tablecloth is unhemmed fabric I found in a salvage store. ($23). The Hutschenreuther gilded plates were given to me by my sister’s family after her death many years ago. The peacock plates are really smoke and mirrors. The peacocks at the center of the plates are pictures of the peacock image on the table runners. I manipulated the pictures in order to obtain appropriately sized circular pictures. These circular pictures were placed at the center of each plate and held in place by two-sided tape. Colorless and transparent glass dinner plates were placed over the peacock pictures. These glass plates were used for the food. The glass plates also serve to protect the underlying gilded plates.”Peacock Themed Table Setting for Christmas

“The cut glass bowl belonged to my mother. The gold napkins are of unknown origin but, based on their condition, they were probably passed down from my grandmother.”Peacock Themed Table Setting for Christmas

“I had to place the napkins under the plates to avoid overcrowding the table. This meant I could not use my beautiful peacock napkin rings as napkin rings. Accordingly, I used them as ornaments on the candelabras. The other tableware and candles were collected over the years (HomeGoods, The Christmas Tree Shop, eBay, etc.)”Peacock Candelabras

Warren ended his email by saying, “Well, that is my Christmas Eve tablescape. My wife, Kathie, loves it and that makes my heart beat a little faster.” ❤️Peacock Candelabras

Thanks so much to Warren for sharing this beautiful table setting! I really love all the special details and could envision it for a New Year’s Eve dinner celebration, as well! Looking forward to the beautiful table settings linked below for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.

Totally ❤️ this as I’m a fan of “peacock colors & peacocks!!” KUDOS!!! franki

  2. Stunning. Just stunning. And for me to say that is really something, because I’m not a big fan of those blue colors.

  3. Warren set an absolutely magnificent table. He use of the peacock is spo inventive and impressive. Top notch table setting. Thanks for sharing.

  4. What a gorgeous tablescape! Warren, you outdid yourself! The idea of lights under a crystal bowl is genius! I’ll remember that one for sure. I LOVE the colors and how you creatively duplicated the peacock images for each placesetting. The gold banded goblets are gorgeous too. Just a fun and lovely table all around.

  5. Kathie’s not the only one who loves it, Warren. That is a beautiful, striking tablescape. And you clever man – at first I thought, Warren has a second set of peacock dinnerware?! (Because I remember your other Peacock tablescape.) But no, you used smoke and mirrors, as you said. Very clever.

The combination of that beautiful blue with the gold is just fabulous. Thanks for sharing that. You did a great job. I hope you all had a lovely time.

  6. Happy 2025! Why not a start to the new year with a fabulous peacock or two? In one part of Houston, Peacocks roam freely. Love the peacock fun bits on the candelabra and jewel tone colors. Great table to share a conversation and some good eats! The mix of blue and gold looks regal. Warren, did you take a photo of the peacock? Then print on paper?

I love the peacock colors and my favorite piece is the decoupaged candle. Really clever and a very nice image. I never decoupaged a candle, only a wood piece. If you don’t mind sharing the how-tos and where you found such a pretty image? Thanks for the eye candy. Teresa

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
