Welcome to the 297th Tablescape Thursday!
It’s been a while since I created a setting for two and a really long time since I put together a tablescape on this little oval table here on the porch.
You may remember the lantern from a previous beach themed table setting here: Beachy Tablescape With Lighthouse Lantern
Glassware for this table setting is from Pier 1. It’s been used in several previous table settings over the last few years. When I used them in this previous beach themed tablescape, I drilled a tiny hole in an aqua blue & rust-colored shell and tied it to the stem with jute yarn. When I placed them back in the cupboard in my laundry room, I left the shell attached. So glad I did now since the colors in the shells go great with the colors in this tablescape.
The aqua glasses worked well with the blue dinner plates found for just $5.99 each a few months ago in HomeGoods.
Woven chargers are from Kohls, six years ago. Shell napkin rings were made by hot-gluing shells onto white, wood napkin rings found in Kohls many years ago. Flatware has a tiny shell shape designed into the handle.
The lobster salad plates are from World Market, you may remember seeing them in previous table settings. Notice the coral design etched into the cream background of the salad plates. Flatware is by Hampton Forge and available here: Hampton Forge Argent Sophia
I was so excited when I found these dinner plates with the orange coral design and rope edge. They look so pretty with the coral design of the salad plates. Unfortunately, I was only able to find three of the blue dinner plates. I almost returned them when I realized I couldn’t locate any others, but they are so cute, I kept them in case I eventually stumble across three more. The only info on the back of the plates is: Effetti d’Arte, Made in Italy.
A simple table setting for two on this gorgeous springtime day.
Hoping the warm weather has found you, wherever you live.
You’ll find additonal nautical/beachy inspired table settings here: Beach Themed Tablescapes and many more table settings for two here: Tables For Two
Looking forward to the beautiful tablescapes linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!
If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up.
You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party in order to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses from linking up to sell their products. (Yep, that really happens, unfortunately.)
If you would like to use the Tablescape Thursday logo button in your post, just copy and paste it to your computer and upload it to your post as you would any photo.
Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links.

Love the salad plates and the dinner plates. Smart to keep the 3 because you may find 3 more that are different but will work and you can alternate esp since the salads all are different. Even a plain orange or light blue dinner plate would look great.
That’s true! I’ve done that with other patterns and loved it. Sandi, did you get moved okay?
Adorable table for two! Thank you for hosting, enjoy your holiday weekend!
Thanks!
Susan, I tried to leave a comment previously and my Firefox browser stopped it, I think. I hope that it is just delayed by the comment moderation. I do love your table, though!!
Diane, it did get through. I wish the comment plugin at least showed a preview so folks would know their comment was submitted. Thanks!
I’m ready for a trip to the beach now Susan and to feel that summer breeze! Thanks for hosting!
If this tablescape doesn’t get you into the summer mode, I don’t what will! I am going to start this weekend!
🙂
Your table IS gorgeous! I love the dinner plate especialy! I have a throw pillow with coral on it that would match beautifully!
Thanks, Pinky! I need your pillow for the chairs! 🙂
Oh Susan, I can feel the breeze! I must confess, my favorite part of this table are the gauzy curtains, they just make the setting! Very clever tying the sea shell on the stem, and such fun lobster and coral plates~ Thanks for this great table top party
Jenna
Love your table for two! Susan you actually was my inspiration to doing tablescapes! Have a good day. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Aww, thanks Cindy! XO
You might of been able to have the store call another one and see if they can’t ship it to the store you bought the original ones from. Just a thought
I did visit a few more in this area and didn’t see any. So often when HomeGoods and Marshalls get things in, they get in a very few. I thought I could find them online but no luck. But that’s okay, I’ll just mix them in with some other plates if I ever need 6 place settings.
That’s so cute- I love small intimate settings like that. I haven’t been very energetic lately so I reposted one from last year.
That can be good because there’s always someone who may have missed it. 🙂
I can almost feel the sand between my toes! Your table takes me on a little vacation! I love the coral colors, very pretty! Thanks for hosting!
Thanks, Ann!
I really like to color combination. I can almost taste the lobster and feel the butter dripping on my chin! 🙂
Okay, now I’m craving seafood! 😉
The color that you captured with your camera for this tablescape is absolutely enticing. Just gorgeous! The blue plates with the coral represent one of my two favorite color combinations. Just lovely. Thanks for hosting us and for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
Cherry Kay, Thanks! I never think of using those colors together but I do like them together!
So thrilled to open emails and find you there this morning!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know, Jan!
The dinner plate is inspirational. It would be so awesome to translate the subtle beauty of the plate into my bedroom decor. So peaceful. Looks like a lot of cool tablescapes to check out, guess it’s time to get started.
Wanda, that would be beautiful for sure. We take our inspiration from everywhere, don’t we?
Once upon a time I would pass on plates if I couldn’t find at least four. Thank goodness I’m pass that stage! Sometimes two is plenty and you proved it with this lovely setting.
Thanks, Sandra! Glad I kept this odd number of three. 🙂
This definitely has the summer coastal fell to it. We aren’t going to the beach this year but this has me wanting to go! Love the blue with the orange! Thanks for hosting!
Thanks, Janet!
I love how you set up that pretty table for two out on the porch!!! Very cute setting!!!
I have to ask, do you keep that furniture out on the porch all winter….do you move the pieces away from the screened areas so they don’t get wet with rain or snow??? The table has such a beautiful finish on it…….
Yep, it all stays out all winter. The furniture hasl been out there now for six years and has held up very well. Our winters here are usually pretty mild, although we do get well below freezing for a few days each year.
The rain can blow in a good ways but it doesn’t seem to hurt anything. The top of the oval table near the screen is protected with polyurethane but after six years, it’s just starting to look like it could benefit from a new coat of paint. It’s not bad enough to do it right now, though.
I love your back porch, can you tell me where you got your sign from? I really like that!
Thanks, Cathy! I bought the sign in a local antique store but later I also found them online for the same price as what I paid here: http://www.sawdustcityllc.com/summer-breeze-makes-me-feel-fine-seals-crofts/ They sell them in a gazillion colors, too.
Love the color combination! Looks like the best seat in the house. You always do such a lovely job on your table-settings. I will be so glad when you publish a book. I expect an autographed copy 😉
Aww, thanks Mary! Appreciate that encouragement! Maybe one day. 🙂
Love today’s post! Intimate and romantic, especially with the gauzy drapes. I hope to see at least one “table for two” post in each season. Be sure to include a chapter of these in your book 😉 And sign me up for an autographed copy as well. (great idea Mary from Virginia!)
Mia from Virginia
🙂 Thanks Mia! XO
Those crayfish plates really are to die for.
Happy TS Day.

Thanks, CC!
Hey Susan, I need your dishes for my table in Maine!
I love tour porch and decor….but I really love your little oval table!!! Sheila
Thanks, Sheila!
I always love your beachy tables…this one especially. Those dinner plates are gorgeous and I am seriously coveting the stemware!
I want those coral design plates, I need the salad plates AND SOUP PLATES, I found them in homegoods but not anymore,, HELP
I couldn’t find them either…only found three and that was many years ago. I guess they didn’t get many in.
Susan this is the most delightful space and a beautiful setting for your table for two. If I ever get back to Georgia I would love, love to share a cup of tea and conversation with you. Truly love this post…so elegant yet so simple.
Thanks! I would love that, Sylvia!
OMG!!! While I am here getting ideas for some coral salad plates I found, I thought those plates would go so well with these salad plates. Well guess what I found for you!?!
I can’t afford them right now, But I am sure you can make it work! The Same maker but soup bowls!! What a way to do a clam chowder luncheon or something!

Jeri, I’ve looked so many times for that pattern online and can never find it. I can’t believe you found those! They are more than I want to spend and I don’t use bowls very much, but I’m just shocked you found them! I wish I could find more of the dinner plate. I need three more to have 6 place settings. Good job finding those!
Oh, and I didn’t know the plate was called Tiffani. I need to go downstairs and see if mine have that written on them. I don’t remember seeing it on there, but that’s definitely the same pattern.
Yep, my plates do say Tiffani…so funny, I never noticed that in the pattern before. lol
I wonder if the owner has plates or knows where to get some. But that was so funny to me that I found them so quick. Then I went on the replacements website, but they don’t have any either.
Now I am trying to decide between these new melamine plates we just got.
Blue Coastal, Red Coastal, and the Austin.

Maybe you can help me decide
Those are pretty! I like the Coral Reef Salad Plates, too!
