Recently, Babs, a lovely reader of BNOTP, shared a few pics of her beautiful Thanksgiving tablesetting.
Babs told me she wanted to set a casual Thanksgiving table with some of her recent purchases from Cracker Barrel. (If you are a follower of BNOTP on Facebook, you already know about the amazing 40% off sale Cracker Barrel recently had on much of their autumn tabletop merchandise.)
Feast your eyes on this wonderful Thanksgiving tablescape!
Babs said, “I’m using my mom’s Antique Grape dishes she bought in the 1960s.” You can see the beautiful grape leaf design in the pic below. How wonderful to inherit such lovely china! The woven chargers are perfect in this setting…love the contrast against the cream plates.
Napkins in autumn colors are from Bed, Bath and Beyond, and those gorgeous candle holders are another great find at Cracker Barrel. I love the autumn colors in this table setting against the rich, brown color of Bab’s pretty table.
Leaf salad plates are from Ross. Babs also found some at Wal-mart, too! Love ’em!
Bab’s found her beautiful tureen at Cracker Barrel during their autumn sale. Isn’t it stunning?! It reminds me sooo much of a Fitz and Floyd piece, but with out the F & F price tag. Do you see adorable, Mr. Squirrel. He is from Cracker Barrel, too and his acorns are salt and pepper shakers.
Look at the wonderful, fall arrangement on Bab’s china hutch! She hasn’t missed a single detail…it’s all so warm and inviting. Oh, how I’d love to be dining at this beautiful tablescape for Thanksgiving!
Babs, thanks so much for sharing this lovely tablescape!
Susan, I am going to save this post with the instructions for a tablescape. I am a new blogger, having been inspired by the beautiful blogs such as yours and wanting a blog of my own. I would love to take part in the Thursday Tablescapes starting in January. So I enjoyed the "instructions". Hope to start being part of this wonderful group in 2010.
Your blog is just stunning.
Susan, I enjoyed seeing this very much, and I think this is so neat to share these tablescapes of non bloggers!
I need to send you some pics of mine for you to showcase. You do a much better job with your pics than I ever could!
I hate that I missed TT on Thursday, but my router went south and caused me to be offline for a few days. I'm really not sure if it's the wireless router or the modem. I have my suspicions about the latter. But either way, I missed this Thursday. I had worked up a fall tablescape, too. Sigh. I just couldn't get online to load the pics.
XO,
Sheila 🙂
What a great idea! I am looking forward to the Christmas tablescapes and hoping to share mine as well!
Susan – That is so nice of you to do this for non-Bloggers! I know it took me quite awhile to get up the nerve to set up and publish my blog. This is great way for non-bloggers to share their tablescapes with bloggers. Today I bought my first ever chargers, at all places, our grocery store. My hubby asked why I was buying plates and I told him they were "chargers" to go with my Christmas dishes. He was amused. I bought four (2 for $5). I hope to put together a Christmas tablescape to post at BNOP in December. This was a lovely tablescape and that was so sweet of you to post it for her.

Hi Susan,
I'd better get busy with my Thanksgiving tablescape so I can join enter contest. What Fun!
Babs, your table turned out beautiful! How inspiring to know you did NOT just buy every high end piece of china in Bloomingdales to make it possible but discovered treasures in many affordable places and used your creativity to put it all together. Being honored with a post on BNOTP is well deserved.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Bonnie
I was in Cracker Barrel last month for lunch and so wished I could have brought some of those excellent sale bargains back to France with me!!
Maggie
Oh how thoughtful of you to figure out a way for non-bloggers to participate in all the tablescaping fun! Although, tablescaping should come with a "Highly Addictive" warning! Can't wait to see some new inspirations too.
It will be fun to see the non-blogger tables and wonderful that you are giving them an opportunity.
Bab's table looks great. I'm wondering how I missed that tureen at my local Cracker Barrel…I may just have to make a trip today. It is gorgeous.
Have a great weekend!
Sue
Lovely tablescape. I like how she put the dishes in the hutch. I saw that soup tureen at CB yesterday. I refrained. Hope I won't be sorry!!
Her Thanksgiving table and room are just too beautiful for words! Absolutely stunning! I LOVE the centerpiece dish! Thank you for the wonderful suggestions and places to shop too. Really lovely post!!!!
ps. Hi to the other Bonnie on here! We have the same name! 🙂
Great post. Enjoyed Bab's tablescape. BUT, I almost choked when the word "antique" was paired with 1960! Oh, my, that's vintage, but hardly antique. Next thing I'll see is my 1972 wedding china will be antique …not ready for that! Pass the prune juice!

I wish I had a Cracker Barrel near me! It's about a 50 minute drive. (Probably worth it though)
I really do enjoy these posts…and all the tablescapes… It's so inspiring…
Thank you so much for hosting such loveliness~
Fabulous. I asked "Santa" for one of her necklaces. :o) Heading to last Monday's post!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
Susan, thanks for sharing Babs' wonderful Thanksgiving table with us. I love all the beautiful, rich fall colors. I collect tureens, and my eye automatically traveled to that. I may have to see if our Cracker Barrel still has one. Babs, you did a great job!
Just a little fyi, Cracker Barrel now has their fall merchandise on sale 50% off. I was in there last night and the lady told me they just marked it down. Halloween was 80% off.
Nice of you to post for non bloggers. Love your blog!
Hi Susan! How nice of you to share with us your friend Bab's lovely table. She has done a beautiful job on her tablescape. I adore that gorgeous tureen! It does look like a Fitz and Floyd! I like her stemmed hurricanes with candles. Tell her we'll look at any rooms she wants to share with us.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
Hi Susan,
It's great that you're showcasing new talent in December! I'll be looking forward to seeing your latest "discoveries!"
Babs is certainly a natural at this! I enjoyed seeing her festive, colorful pieces. She coordinated everything beautifully. It's wonderful that she's using and enjoying her mother's lovely dishes. The tureen has a great whimsical quality.
Nice job, Babs. Hope to see more tables from you in the very near future!
Bill
Susan and Babs, thank you so much for sharing this beautiful tablescape. That tureen is so pretty. laurie
Hi Susan. I really appreciate the suggestions you have offered on what to include in tablescape posts. I have only done a few tablescapes but could never really work out what to say so thanks for the hints.
I also just wanted to let you know that I loved your idea about putting remote controls in a chess box-hope you don't mind if I borrow it!
Best wishes, Natasha.
As another "non blogger" I love that you are featuring Bab's BEAUTIFUL table!!!! She has not missed a detail, as you said! It is WONDERFUL that she has inherited such lovely dishes from her Mother! What a treasure! I LOVE the beautiful leaf plates too…I should have gotten them too at Walmart when I saw them….I just got the pumpkin plates. Maybe next year:):) Thank you, Babs, for sharing your beautiful table, and your talent and inspiration!!!! Susan AND Babs, have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!!!! XO, Pinky PS, I didn't see that tureen at Cracker Barrel or would ahve grabbed it right away!!!!!
I love the setting and china. Love all the great deals she got and I lov e Mr Squirrel. No one will go get him for me. lol I tried to go but, wouldn't let me out of the house, after a night out to eat and went to Marshall's with no hubby to be found.Security picked me up until they called hubby to come and get me. lol
Susan, this is such a beautiful table. The dishes are all just gorgeous and the colors so fall. I LOVE that gorgeous tureen. What a pretty piece. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Marty
Susan, Thanks so much for your gracious invitation to show my Thanksgiving tablescape photos on BNOTP. And to all who posted comments, thanks for being so sweet and encouraging. Everyone has made this great fun. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Susan, Thanks for sharing Babs' beautiful tablescape with all of us, it's gorgeous! I do have one question, though, and I hope I can get an answer from you, Babs or one of the other readers…I have the beautiful tureen from Cracker barrel, but mine didn't come with a ladle. Do you know where Babs got her ladle? It matches perfectly and I would love to have one, also.
Thank you so much!
Susan
Hi Susan,
At first I couldn't find a ladle either, but then one of the sales ladies at Cracker Barrel told me they were separate from the tureen. I think it was around $4 or $5…maybe even less. Anyway, the ladles are sold by themselves.
Hopefully they still have some at the CB where you bought yours…or you may want to call some different locations to check. I hope you are able to find one.
Susan
I love your blog- so much so that I am passing on the Sugar Doll blogger award on to you. Please stop by my page to pick it up. ENjoy!!!
I love the turkey tureen as your centerpiece!
