This should probably be a Metamorphosis Monday post since it’s filled with some fun updates. It seems like I’m always tweaking the movie room, especially now that football season is here.
When my son, DIL, and grandsons are here for a movie, my grandsons always want to relax and munch on the freshly popped popcorn from the comfort of the two gray, overstuffed chairs. But when it’s game day, I’ve noticed that they often bring over their iPads and enjoy battling each other in games they like to play online. When they do that, one of them always ends up on the floor because they usually need to plug their iPads into the outlet over near the left side of the TV. Plus, they tell me that they like being close to each other while playing their online games. This means that one of them usually ends up in the gray chair near the fireplace, while the other grandson sits on the floor leaning against the chair or the ottoman. They like this system that they’ve worked out, though it looks uncomfortable to me.

Since they are determined to play their online games this way, I purchased a thickly padded chair that’s designed for floor sitting. The back is adjustable to 14 different positions.

My youngest grandson and one of his friends happened to be over a few days ago when the chair arrived. I let him try it out, and it was a big hit! If my older grandson loves it the next time he’s over, I may end up ordering a second one. I tried it out myself, and it is super comfortable. The back is easy to adjust, and the cushioning is so thick that I couldn’t feel the floor at all. If you have kids or grandkids who love sitting on the floor, you’ll find this floor chair available in a bunch of different colors here: 14-Position Floor Chair.

I have Halloween on the brain lately. I fell in love with this cute hoodie and ordered it last week.

The screen printing is vibrant and beautifully done. The cotton fabric is soft and comfy. I turned it inside out to wash it (I usually wash new hoodies before wearing them), and it came out looking just as vibrant and colorful as it was when it arrived. If you love hoodies and cats, you’ll find this adorable hoodie available here: Halloween Cats Hoodie.

I had a few questions about the wooden puzzle I recently shared that has pieces in the shape of sports figures. I purchased it from a company called Iconic Puzzles. Just search for that name online, and you’ll find their website featuring puzzles for many sports teams.

Since the movie room has turned into Sports Central for the next few months, I purchased a pretty wreath to go over the table where I place all the food/snacks each week on game day.

The Etsy shop from which I purchased it makes wreaths for all the big-name sports teams. If you’re a University of Georgia fan, you’ll find the wreath I purchased here: University of Georgia Wreath. You’ll find different styles of wreaths for tons of other teams here: Wreaths For Other Sports Teams.

To set the mood, I added a couple of books to the top of the console. I think my son is going to steal the dog book and will want to take it home when he sees it. He loves bulldogs. (Books are available here: Damn Good Dogs AND How ‘Bout Them Dawgs!) I’m sure there are many books online for your favorite team, too.

Hope you found some fun ideas in this post for your football-loving family or football fan! Happy Game Day!

hi new fan did you attend UGA? go dawgs
I didn’t, but my son and daughter-in-law did. I went to Mercer University in Macon. Yes, Go Dawgs! 🙂
You are the best grandma! I bet there will be a “fight” over who gets the floor chair so you better have two. I think it’s nice that your grandson brought a friend with him to visit. Sometimes grandma’s are in low supply.
Aww, your comment about Grandmas really touched me, Kathleen.
lol You’re probably right. They always want what the other one has. lol
I love that they do that, too. They often bring friends here and they head straight down to the movie room. They make up the funniest games to play down there.
Susan, you just keep making that room even more comfy and cozy. I wish I had a reason to buy a floor chair! That one looks really comfortable. I love the hoodie you got. That looks right up your alley. And I love all the Georgia touches. I bet the family is just loving all you do. They will miss you so much when / if you go back to Georgia!
Btw, I was wondering if you’re happy with the flag set up you purchased last Fall? I figure by now you’d know if you made good choices. Thanks. Have fun tomorrow. I’ll be making a favorite sausage been dip. Yum.
I like the flag a lot, but the pole mechanism isn’t working quite the way it is supposed to work. When it’s windy, it’s supposed to rotate around with the flag, so the flag doesn’t get wrapped around the pole. Most of the time, it still manages to wrap itself around the pole. I wish someone would make one that actually did spin around in the wind instead of doing that.
Alright, thanks for the info. I’ll see if I can find a different one and I’ll let you know if I do.
Please do! Thanks, Pam! Appreciate if you let me know if this email arrives in your Inbox.
Thanks!
Please let me know if you find something that will keep it from wrapping around a pole. I’d love to stop it doing that for good.
Thanks!
Hi Pam, would you let me know if you see this comment? Thanks!
