Welcome to the 912th Tablescape Thursday! I have missed setting a table and could not wait to create one for this week’s Tablescape Thursday! After my return home to Georgia on Saturday, I made a quick trip to Publix the next day to restock the pantry. While there, I saw the cutest St. Patrick’s Day cake and thought it would be perfect in the center of St. Patty’s Day table. Once I got home, I realized St. Patrick’s would already be past by this Thursday. Ummm. Well, the cake was too cute not to share, so here’s a couple-of-days-late St. Patrick’s Day tablescape. I mixed in a lot of spring elements, so hope you enjoy it even if the holiday was two days ago. lol

The dinnerware and other pieces in this table setting are all things I already had. That’s one of the things I love most about Tablescape Thursday—forcing myself to use/mix dinnerware I already have to create something new.

This fun guy only gets to come out to play once a year, so I had to include him in the centerpiece. He was a find in Marshalls (or it may have been HomeGoods) many, many years ago. I wish I’d had some gold coins to sprinkle around his feet and around the base of the cake stand.

With the first day of spring, the Spring Equinox, officially starting tomorrow, I wanted this St. Patty’s Day table to feel like a celebration of spring.

These floral Kim Parker charger plates are my favorite to pull out when spring arrives. The pattern is Emma’s Garland. I was surprised to see how well they worked with the shamrock salad plates, a find in HomeGoods many years ago. I haven’t shopped in a HomeGoods in a long, long time. I think I’m past due for a visit.

I’m starting to think I’m one of those people who suffers a little with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) during the winter months. It snows and rains a lot in Ohio, and when it’s not raining, it’s often cloudy. I’ve noticed over the last few months that whenever we had a bright, sunny day, people I encountered in stores would chat about the sunshine as if it were a rare occurrence.

Since returning to Georgia and all this glorious sunshine, I have felt happier and so much more inspired to work on projects and get stuff done. Or, maybe that’s just spring fever kicking in. Do you notice this in spring—that you feel much more energized?

I don’t remember where I found these cute shamrock napkins. I only have four, would love a couple of more. I believe the floral napkin rings were a Pier 1 find, back in the day. I didn’t have any gold coins to scatter around our Leprechaun’s feet, but there are pretty gold accents on the Napoleon Bee flatware. (Napoleon Bee Flatware with gold accents is available here: Napoleon Bee Flatware.

The bee skep soup tureens were a find in Old Time Pottery many years ago. They are American Atelier, and the pattern is Morning Garden. I wonder if the location near me is still open. The last few times I’ve been there, there was almost no one inside shopping. It used to be a busy, busy place with lots of bargain-hunting shoppers.

This cute cake was the impetus for this St. Patrick’s Day-Spring table setting.

Our cute Leprechaun looks very happy to have found this favorite hat! After all these years, I’ve never named this happy guy. He needs a name, doesn’t he? What should we name him?

Here’s how the cake looked on the inside when I cut a piece last night. So festive! It was delicious, too! Publix always does a great job with their cakes.

Looking forward to setting a lot more spring tables now that I’m back in Georgia and reunited with my dishes! lol Pssst: The breakfast table was delivered this morning. Can’t wait to share how it looks in the breakfast room with you very soon! Looking forward to all the beautiful table settings linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.

Such a cute table! I found too coins at the Dollar Tree in the toy section for my cowboy table. Cake looks delicious! I’m much more motivated when the sun is shining than on a cloudy day too! Enjoy the spring weather!
Oh, I should stop by and see if they have any left! Thanks, Sheri!
So glad you are back in Georgia with your “stuff!” Been missing your dishes and your house……….. But, I’m lov’en your Dollhouse too,
Thanks, Deb! I have too. I love that little house, too…especially my office with all the great windows.
THAT IS THE COOLEST CAKE!! “PUBLIX”…who knew!! THAT STOP w/b top o my list next time!! I think “Cappy” likes it, too!! franki
They amaze me with all the cute cakes they carry and they are the perfect size for a small gathering. 🙂
Oh that cake is so cute, and it looks moist and delicious too! It’s great having a good store around – we don’t have Publix here, but I get cakes at Fred Meyer, our local grocery chain, and they’re super yummy. Your little leprechaun is darling too, watching over the bee skeps. I’m not very good at naming things – I always come up with something like Herman … but I’ll be interested to see what name he does end up with. Thanks for hosting the party – Happy Thursday!
It was, both the icing and the cake were really good. I’ve heard good things about Fred Meyer! I struggle with naming things, too. Thanks, Barbara! Hope you are seeing some spring weather!
Paddy!! His name is Paddy! That seems suitably Irish to me. 😀
I love the cake and agree that Publix does such a nice job. Several years ago I got an Easter egg cake. It was decorated so prettily with lots of pastel colors, and it was yummy, too.
I’m glad to see the Bee Skeps, as well as the beautiful Bee flatware. And I’m very happy you’re back in the warmth and sunshine and able to enjoy your beautiful collection of tablescaping items. I hope you have a lovely weekend, Susan.
That is cute! Oh, I love their Easter cakes! Thanks, Pam! It is so nice to be back in the land of sunshine!
I am one of the people with SAD that seems to get worse with age. Spring, daylight savings time, green leaves popping out are invigorating. Right after the big freeze, my azalea burst forth with blooms. So many tropical plants and palm trees aren’t going to make it.
That is one cute cake! All I saw yesterday were marked down St. Patrick’s Day cupcakes. There was clearanced peppermint icecream. This is a huge area full of chefs. My friend and I were remarking recently that none make the over the top cakes we see on Pinterest.
Happy Spring Susan
I hope they didn’t get hurt by the cold, Myrna! Thankfully, my camellia blooms seemed to have made it through the last drop in temps.
The cake looks yummy, and it’s so cute. Your table is beautiful as always. You sound so happy to be back in the South. I’m glad you still have your home down here, its so beautiful and I know you love the weather here. The Dollhouse is pretty too, and looks amazing with all the things you have done to it. Still I think Georgia is “On your Mind”. Those kittens are such cuties, I know you love having them.
Yes, Georgia is always on my mind. I do love the beauty of this state, especially during spring and summer. Ohio is beautiful, too…spring and summer are just a couple of months shorter. The daffodils hadn’t even started blooming when I left and they are already all finished in my garden. Spring seems to arrive a month later in Ohio and Fall arrives about a month earlier, so the warmer seasons of spring and summer are shortened. Thanks! They are hilarious, except when they wake me up before daylight! lol I hope they outgrow that nonsense eventually.
Nice mixture of St. Patrick’s Day & Spring. The cake certainly looks enticing. It’s too bad that Mr. Leprechaun’s outfit isn’t changeable because he would make a great looking Santa Claus!
Oh my gosh, you’re right! I never looked at him like that, but you’re right!
Happy Spring in 25 hrs! Sun is energizing to me. I struggle on cloudy days in any season; saps my strength physically and mentally. Looking forward to lots of cute bunny-themed posts in the near future.
Yup, that’s how I feel after weeks of rain, snow, and clouds up north. The sunshine this week has been glorious! I was just looking at my bunny stash a few days ago when I was downstairs in the storage room off the basement, and thinking how I can’t wait to get those out and usem them!
The cake is perfect. I like someone’s suggestion of Paddy for a name of “your guy”. Are those shamrock dessert dishes to the left in all the pictures? My outlet store had sugar cookies and cupcakes with green frosting. And, agree, some gold coins needed here and there on the table. Oh and sunny days and budding plants always makes me happy. But sunny and hot, no thank you. Oh and even if your post is “late” I still always enjoy it.
Good eye, those are shamrock plates. I just looked on the back and they are by Mesa Home Products. Those came from HomeGoods many years ago. I wonder if HomeGoods or TJMax had St. Patrick’s Day dishes this year. In the past, they always had them as it neared St. Patty’s Day.
So happy you’re back in GA. When we get a seldom cloudy/cold day in FL I’m lethargic and disinterested in projects. The weather is an inspiration for me. Until summer when it’s blazing hot! You’re fortunate to have two homes. Keep up the good work!
Dawn, you are so blessed to live someplace where it’s almost never cold. I’ve been wondering lately if I should move to Florida. I’ve heard that property insurance isn’t too terrible in the northern part of FL. I would love to wake up to sunshine and warmth every day!
Yes! My prop insurance decreased. It means a lot for sunny weather almost daily Brightens your mood. Ive been visiting friends in Ocala at Top of the World community. Close to the equestrian center and affordable villas. No hurricanes there. 87 feet above sea level. Im at nine feet in Ft Myers! Hit hard with Ian.
I think many of us get a little more pep in our step when it is sunny! I know I do! We’ve had a string of cloudy days and the sun today was glorious! I might name that leprechaun Lucky! The cake looks yummy! Yes, Publix does a good job with their cakes!
