Some of my favorite decor books are those that take us into the private homes of designers. The book I’m featuring today takes us into the home of 18 designers, including names like Nina Campbell, Rachel Ashwell and Charlotte Moss.
In the BNOTP Library: Designers in Residence: The Personal Style of Top Women Decorators and Designers
Author: Claire Whitcomb
3 Things I Like About This Book:
- The designers whose homes are featured in this book are: Rachel Ashwell, Katrin Cargill, Lyn Peterson, Carolyn Quartermaine, Isabelle de Borchgrave, Anna French, Lillian August, Carol Bolton, Tricia Foley, Mary Baltz, Theadora Van Runkle, Ann Fox, Sheila Bridges, Christiane Michaels, Edwige Martin, Joedda Sampson, Nina Campbell and Charlotte Moss.
- The peeks we get into the homes of all these super talented, well-known designers is wonderful, but one of the best parts of this book is hearing each designer’s philosophy on decorating and design. It’s a personal glimpse into their lives and I loved reading about how they like to live and why they have furnished and designed their own homes as they have.
- At the very end of the book, there is a list of books written by some of the designers featured in the book. This is an older book so some of the designers have written additional books since that list was made.

I have this book!! It was a gift from a friend when she was downsizing her home. I love this book. Thank you for featuring it today. A nice reminder of a good book, I think I will read it again!
I agree! This is a favorite go to book of mine, too. It’s a beautiful book that earns its space on my coffee table and gets picked up quite often. I have owned it for some time and never tire of the beautiful photography and personal styles of wonderful designers at home. Thank you for giving it its due recognition.
