Welcome to the 861st Tablescape Thursday! For this week’s Tablescape Thursday, I thought I’d share some of the meals we’ve had while staying here. Our ski-in apartment/suite has a full kitchen with a refrigerator that makes ice faster than you can say, Breckenridge! lol I’ve never seen a refrigerator make so much ice in a single day!
During this trip, we’ve been having breakfast in our suite. Lunch is occasionally leftovers from feasts the night before, but not always. Twice we’ve met the boys for lunch here at one of the resorts’ restaurants. Another time we had lunch out while shopping, which is probably what we’ll be doing today.
The night we ate at Hearthstone, my son and daughter-in-law had Octopus as an appetizer. I rarely have an appetizer since I know I wont be able to eat my meal if I have too much before it arrives, but I did try a bite at my son’s encouragement. I found it didn’t have a lot of flavor, found it pretty bland. The texture was also a bit weird. They loved it, though.
There were some amazing offerings on the menu, including Bison Shortribs and Blackberry Elk. I was tempted to try the Elk, but stayed safe with something I knew I’d like–a delicious filet that came with potatoes and spinach.
My son and I ended up ordering the same thing. My daughter-in-law had their Long Island Duck. Her dinner was described as “Seared Duck Breast, Duck confit, Squash in garlic parsnip puree, Roasted red beets in Pomegranate molasses. The food was outstanding, we truly enjoyed everything!
Yesterday, during our shopping excursion through the historic part of Breckenridge, we stopped in at Mi Casa Restaurant and Cantina and had the best Mexican food I’ve had in a very long time. My daughter-in-law ordered Shrimp Fajitas, and it was wonderful. The shrimp was so tender!
I went with their Chicken Fajitas and it was so good! I’m beginning to think all the best chefs live in Breckenridge. Briar Rose is another restaurant we tried while here. The food was excellent there, as well!
We each had a margarita with our meal. I had the house favorite–the Mi Casa Margarita, and my daughter-in-law had their Spicy Natural Margarita. Both were really good!
As you walk and shop around Breckenridge, scenes like this pop up. It’s really beautiful this time of year as spring approaches.
Looking forward to the beautiful table settings linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!
If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.
So glad you’re having a great time and eating scrumptious food, Susan. What a nice vacation for all of you. I bet the boys are having a ball! Thanks for sharing your mouth-watering meals and I hope you’ve adjusted to the altitude and are feeling better. Take care.
Thanks, Pam! Unfortunately, I never really got used to the altitude, not sure why. Food was awesome, though.

I’m curious. What brand of refrigerator makes so much ice? Ours is terrible!!!
It’s a GE. I’ll take a picture of it.
I forgot to take a photo of it, but it was the type you would normally see in a smaller condo or apartment. I’ve never seen a refrigerator make so much ice!
Food, GOOD food is key part with any of our outings!! Sounds as if you struck gold!! franki
Yes! They have some great chefs in Breckenridge.

How fun to eat great food and be with family. Enjoy all of the special times! I appreciate all of the pictures of the town, love anything snow related. 🙂 Safe travels!
Thanks, Rosie! I should have taken more photos, such a pretty town!
Susan, being a blogger probably does make you want to take more pics, but good to live your life in the present too! I know that there have been times when I felt that I should have taken more pictures, but then thought, ‘well, I was living in the moment and that was precious in and of itself’! Sounds like a wonderful trip to a beautiful place.
Sounds like you are having a marvelous time! Enjoy!
