Welcome to the 779th Metamorphosis Monday! Happy 2024! I hope you had a fun New Year’s Eve. I spent it with friends and family which seemed like the best way to kick off the new year.
I have two wonderful decor and centerpiece ideas to share with you for this week’s Met Monday. My dear friend, Teresa, loves traveling more than anyone I know. She and I have shared some wonderful adventures over the past few years, including a trip that took us all across Egypt.
This was Teresa’s travel schedule during 2023!
For her New Year’s table, Teresa created a “centerpiece of gratitude for friends, family, health, and adventures” using collectibles from many of her amazing trips! What a great way to ring in the new year, celebrating past adventures while planning new ones. I can’t wait to see where her travels will take her in 2024!
Franki shared a photo with me of the beautiful table she set with Lenox Holiday and I couldn’t let 2023 go without sharing this beautiful table. I love the warmth of this table, it’s so cozy and inviting. I asked Franki about the treasure/gift she created at each place setting. She described them as a surprise filled with “chocolate, a small trinket, and a little message.” If you would like to recreate this for your dinner guests in the future, I found similar containers/cups here: Expresso Cup with Lid.
I love her beautiful centerpiece which features a beautiful carousel filled with reindeer and Santa’s sleigh. The carousel rests atop a vintage sleigh. Such a romantic, nostalgic centerpiece for a holiday dinner! I was wondering if the carousel is still available. I found one that’s very similar and currently on sale here: Christmas Carousel AND here: Christmas Carousel.
This was the special dessert Franki prepared for her guests—love! ♥
Thanks so much to Teresa and Franki for sharing these wonderful tables and holiday decor ideas! Looking forward to all the awesome Before and Afters linked for this week’s Met Monday!

Metamorphosis Monday: Metamorphosis Monday is a party that’s all about Before and Afters. Please link up your Before and After projects like DIY projects, room makeovers, craft projects even recipes. Please do not link up Table Settings, save those for our Tablescape Thursday party on Thursday. If you are participating in Met Monday, you’ll need to link your post to the party using the “permalink” to your MM post and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on the name of your post, then copy and paste the address that shows in the address bar at the top of your blog, into the “url” box for InLinkz when prompted.
This party has ended, click button below for the links to all who participated.
Happy New Year, Susan! Wishing you many delightful moments that bring you joy this year.
Thank you, Debbie! Happy 2024! I hope it brings you great health and happiness all year long!

Happy New Year, Susan! It tells me you will have to moderate my link on the party. This has never happened before. I don’t know of anything that is different!
Happy New Year, Pam! I’m not sure–I know the folks at InLinkz said that when adding a link to the party, it can sometimes take the InLinkz system a few seconds to find the link (back to the party) in your post. So, if you notice it happening again, try linking up again, but go a bit slow in case the Inlinkz system needs a bit more time to find the party link in your post. I just moderated your link, so it should be showing now.
Happy New Year, Susan! I’m looking forward to 2024 also. Cheers!
Happy New Year and Blessings to you and your family.
Could you post some pictures (ideas) for more neutral and casual style of decorating? Many of us have gotten away from the formal style of decorating.
Laura, check out the category “TABLESCAPES” at the top of the blog. You’ll find a bunch of subcategories under there with all kinds of tables. Especially look at the non-holiday tables for more casual settings. Here are some spring/summer tables that are casual: https://betweennapsontheporch.net/category/themed/beachy/
You’ll find plenty under the Seasona/Fall and Seasonal/Winter category, as well. It’s probably easier to access the TABLESCAPES category from a laptop than from a phone/tablet.
Happy NEW YEAR!! It’s a “good thing” our dinners, etc are served buffet style, huh! No one has ever called me a “minimalist!” We’re eating the last piece of “Old Fashioned Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake” right now! xxx. franki
