October has decided to be June. I’m in Ohio today and it’s so warm outside! It’s going to be in the 80s today! What?! Everyone here is wearing shorts except me! I brought along a suitcase full of wool sweaters and corduroy pants that will be useless this week. I still remember the year I visited and we were Trick-or-Treating in the snow! It was the first Halloween I’ve ever spent watching snow fall from the sky! I don’t think we’ll have to worry about that this year, though. Ha!
This morning I spent an hour online ordering several of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer tops via Amazon, so I’ll have something to wear this week. I’ll at least have one short sleeve top by tomorrow and a few more will be arriving on Wednesday. I also ordered a pair of my favorite sandals since we usually end up doing a lot of walking/hiking. These are my absolute favorite sandal for travel, as well. They were a blessing in the 155-degree weather we experienced in Egypt for two weeks! (Only a slight exaggeration.) I couldn’t have survived without them on that trip! They will come in handy next summer since I know this brief “June” weather we are experiencing right now won’t last long. Today is the last day of the big Talbots sale that’s been going on this week. Here’s what I’m eyeing for fall and winter. I have a thing for Fair Isle sweaters and apparently, I’m not alone. They have some really beautiful ones available this year. I love the soft, muted colors of this design. I don’t know why but camel paired with cream always feels so elegant and sophisticated to me. I just love this color combo! I love how the hem of this sweater appears to be a relaxed style, not something that will hug the hips. Definitely need this one in my winter wardrobe! I’ve really gotten into quilted vests the past few winters. I’ve never seen a long one before like this until this year, but I love how it looks, especially with a beautiful sweater underneath! I’m crazy about this coat! I love, love, love the windowpane design and of course, I love that soft muted brown color that will go with anything! I love the softness of this suede tote with faux shearling accents. I currently have an LV Speedy in shearling and it’s one of my favorite bags for winter, so I know I would get a lot of use out of this tote. Very tempting! You’ll find it on sale here: Suede Tote.
Long-sleeve white shirts are a staple in any wardrobe. I especially like pairing them with cardigans or sweaters and turning up the cuffs. This shirt is especially pretty because the placket down the front and the cuffs are scalloped. As if that was beautiful enough, the pearl buttons take it over the top! Love! Another beautiful Fair Isle sweater! I love how they paired it with a plaid shirt! I’m not sure I would have thought to do that, but I love how it looks!
