Memorial Day Sales: Great Cordless Vac, Faves For The Garden/Table & Back In Stock!

Hope you are having a relaxing Memorial Day weekend! I’ve been shopping the sales and have made some purchases that I’m looking forward to receiving. If you missed out on this beautiful floral car coat that looks for the world like it came from Lilly Pulitzer, it is now back in stock. Again, if you order it, don’t forget that it’s quite oversized, so be sure to size down one full size from what you would normally wear. If you normally wear a Medium, buy a Small. Trust me on that—it definitely runs big.

I imagine part of the reason it’s so oversized is so you have plenty of wiggle room when wearing it a car or while sitting, but still size down! It’s beautiful, and I love the one I have! You’ll find it available here: Floral Coat.

There’s also a matching dress, actually two matching dresses. Thanks to Susan for telling me about these! This sundress is available here, and based on the reviews, it’s just as nice as the coat: Sun Dress. I’m very impressed with the quality of this brand and will watch for their clothes in the future.

I ordered this dress, thinking it might be a style that’s a bit too young for me. It fit great (again, I ordered down 1 size), but the bubble hem (or whatever it’s called) as I feared, looked a bit too young for me. So I’ll be returning it. But the quality was excellent! You would swear these beautiful pieces came from a high-end boutique! I may give the sundress a try—it’s such a pretty design with the ruffle across the top. (Dress is available here: Dress with Short Sleeves.)

Okay, on to those awesome Memorial Day sales! This is where I keep the kitties’ litter boxes. This works out great, and there have been zero accidents over the past two months that we’ve been back in Georgia. They are so good about only going in their litter box! About once a week, I sweep up any litter that has found its way out of the litter box since I don’t have a vacuum down here.

I’m super excited to get this vacuum that I just ordered this morning. The price was very reasonable, and according to the 92%, 5-star reviews, it has powerful suction. That’s important for a cordless vacuum! The info states that it will run for 70 minutes, which is a long time. I could vacuum my entire house in 70 minutes. That’s one of the things I love about cordless vacuums: how fast you can move with them. I find it cuts vacuuming time in half.

This cordless vacuum comes with so many attachments—love that! One of the features I’m most excited about is that it will stand on its own. I was so excited to read that; that means I don’t have to worry about finding an available outlet (or having one installed as I did in Ohio) so that it can be mounted on the wall for charging. It will be able to stand on its own while charging. That is a huge boon in my book.

I have a ton of outlets on the finished side of the basement, but on this side, I only have 2 outlets (a 2-gang and a 4-gang) down the right wall, and those are already in use most of the time. I love that I’ll be able to charge this vacuum at any outlet here in the basement, then put it away in the storage room located at the end of this room. Note to self: I still need to have a door made for that room. I’ll try to get that done on my next trip back.

I’ve always wondered why the Dyson vacuum wasn’t designed to stand on its own. I love that this one will do that! I hope it arrives sooner than this Wednesday—I’m eager to try it out here in the basement. If you could use a reasonably priced, cordless vacuum that doesn’t have to be mounted on the wall for charging, you’ll find this vacuum on sale here: Cordless Vacuum with Multiple Attachments.

I’ve had these on my wish list for a while. They make me laugh every time I see them; they are sooo cute! If you have a lake house, love to fish, or just love whimsical salad plates as I do, you’ll find these cute fishy plates here: Fishy Salad/Dessert Plates.

I’m going to order a couple of these pretty towels for summer. I wish my bathrooms were already renovated. I’d love to see them on the shelves in an all-white bathroom! You’ll find these beautiful Cabana-striped Towels available in two colors here: Cabana Stripe Towels.

Recently, I shared some adorable, whimsical rechargeable lights found while shopping in HomeGoods.

Beaded Dragonfly Napkin Rings

Ever since buying those, I’ve been yearning for a set with a white or neutral-colored shade so I can use them more often in table settings. In searching, I came across this lamp below. I like that it comes with two shades, so the shade can be swapped out for whatever look is needed. One thing that’s different about this lamp from my other ones is that the light emits from the top and bottom, not through the shade itself. That would actually be great for using on a table since the light would not be in anyone’s eyes as they dined. It would also be great task lighting since it would shine downward onto whatever is being worked on. They are also waterproof, so great for using outdoors without worrying about them getting wet if a storm suddenly pops up. You’ll find this cordless rechargeable lamp available in several finishes, including white, black, gold, and striped, here: Cordless Outdoor Waterproof Rechargeable Battery-Operated Lamp.

I love the shape of the shade on this rechargeable lamp! Sooo pretty!

It comes in both a shorter lamp and this taller one and I like both! You’ll find it in both sizes here: Cordless Rattan Lamp.

If you enjoy wearing wireless earbuds, the 4th generation of AirPods is currently on sale here: Apple AirPods 4 Wireless Earbuds.

I’m obsessed with these adorable solar garden lights! I love this starburst/fireworks design. You’ll find these on sale here: Solar Garden Light, Firework/Starburst Design.

These solar butterfly garden lights are so pretty and will actually sway in the breeze. Love that! You’ll find them on sale here: Butterfly Solar Garden Lights.

Solar lights are really getting pretty amazing! These are designed to look like Delphinium! If you live in an area where you have trouble growing flowers due to a lack of rain, this would be a great way to add some color to your garden. You’ll find these on sale here: Solar Delphinium Garden Lights.

Hope you have a beautiful, meaningful Memorial Day weekend as we give prayers and thanks for all those who have served, past and present. ❤️

I love those butterfly solar lights thanks for sharing. Do those Dyson vacuums do well in a fully carpeted room like a bedroom?

  2. The Dyson I have at this house (the GA house) has a separate attachment that you use for carpet and another attachment for hardwood/tile flooring. The Dyson I have in Ohio only has one floor attachment, but the height for it is adjustable. I don’t think it has two attachments. This vacuum that I just purchased is not a Dyson, but it’s a lot less expensive than a Dyson and sound pretty powerful from the reviews. I’m looking forward to trying it.

Thank you Susan, I didn’t look that closely and just assumed it was a Dyson. It’s hard to find a good cordless vacuum that will do carpeted rooms.

Oh I love those recommendations, Susan. And wouldn’t you know it – as God is my witness – I just got a new cordless stand-up-on-its-own stick vac YESTERDAY. If only! I am sending the delphionium garden lights idea to a friend who would love them. And I ADORE the outdoor lamp with interchangeable wicker look shade too. Well done, ma’am. Have a happy weekend. We have much to be grateful, God bless our fallen veterans.

    • Maybe companies are finally realizing we want one that will stand up on its own! lol
Thanks, Michele! I hope you have an awesome weekend!

  4. I am anxious to hear how the cordless vacuum works. I have a different brand which has very little suction.

  5. I have a Dyson for about 7 years – like it, but it is having “issues” – I have to stop and empty it or it makes noises like it is straining. So, thank you for the tip on this one! Hope you have a great weekend!

    • Ann, does it have a filter somewhere that has to be periodically removed, washed, or replaced? Some vacuums have that. Try doing a Google search for your particular Dyson vac, asking if there’s a filter that has to be changed or washed.
Thanks! Hope yours is great, too! It’s been raining here but the sun is out now and it’s beautiful. I hope the rain doesn’t interfere with too many cookouts or activities this weekend.

  6. Susan, still deciding on a lamp. Does yours have a wattage light bulb? Is it bright? Not looking forward to hurricane season. If only the car coat was a pretty raincoat. I love the solar butterflies and flowers.
Bless all that served this Memorial Day.

    • Do you mean the little bulbs in the floral lamps I found in HomeGoods. I don’t see a wattage, they are small round bulbs, different from what I’m used to seeing. They are plenty bright though.

I’ve been looking for a stick vac for upstairs. I thought about the Dyson V15, which is on sale at Costco. I was looking for a smaller lighted head and this seems to fit the bill at a much lower price! Yay! I’m very happy! I’ll have to come back to look at the solar lights. I’m still working on my yard and things aren’t in enough order to order them. By the way, I soon will be using a new email address.

  8. Hello Susan! Happy late Spring. I had to comment on the starburst solar lights. I started with 4 for the backyard garden and have progressed to 8. I split them between the backyard and the front for the holidays. In April, I moved all 8 to the backyard and thought I would turn off at least 3 or 4 of them because it IS a lot of light. But my neighbor mentioned that his 4-year-old LOVES to see ALL the lights twinkling at night before she falls asleep. I loved hearing that, soooo…all 8 lights glow during the night. Though, I do turn them off during bird migration times. Not sure it makes a super big difference in a neighborhood full of light, but we do what we can. Have a great weekend!

  9. I have a Miele cordless vacuum (Innovation 3 in 1) that will stand up on its own and will also do carpet. I’ve had it about 4 years so there are likely newer models available. I’ve not owned a Dyson–I’ve had a canister Miele since 2004 still looks like new and going strong so I went with that brand.

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
