Welcome to the 890th Metamorphosis Monday! I was supposed to be back in Georgia by now. The plan was to head back to Georgia right after New Year’s, so I could spend the winter there. So why am I not there? Welllll, I ordered a dishwasher in December for installation before Christmas. When the installation guys arrived, they informed me I needed an outlet installed underneath my kitchen sink cabinet. All the electricians were booked up, so the outlet installation didn’t take place until a few days after Christmas. Then the dishwasher I received had a defect where the top and bottom drawers were not properly lined up. Not sure if that was an installation error or what.

A new dishwasher was ordered and installed a couple of weeks later. Love this dishwasher! When the Georgia dishwasher croaks one day, I will definitely be buying another Fisher & Paykel.

Then the snowstorms came. I don’t remember how many, but there were two really big ones and one even broke the standing record for the Dayton area, dumping 12.4 inches of snow and ice in the space of a day or two. It has just this past week finally begun to melt as the temps FINALLY climbed over freezing. Ugh! Thankfully, my city hit the road immediately after each snowfall and had all the roads cleared right away, but go a mile or two out, and the roads were a mess for a long time. It’s a long way from Ohio to Georgia, and the whole southeast saw mammoth snowfalls, so I didn’t dare attempt the drive back to Georgia until I knew the roads were back in great shape. Now that the snow has finally melted, I’m babysitting kitties while the family is on a winter ski break, and I will soon be taking care of my grandsons while Mom and Dad take a fun vacation to a warm, sunny spot with friends. So much for my plans to spend the coldest months of winter in Georgia. lol

I have sorely missed my Peloton bike over the past few weeks/months. When I’m in Georgia, I ride it a couple of times a day. I don’t enjoy long rides, preferring to do two 20-minute rides each day. I can’t remember if this photo was taken before or after I added a handlebar adjuster so I could sit several inches closer to the handlebars.

If you have a Peloton bike and are not super tall (like me) and have always wished the handlebars were a bit closer, this handlebar adjuster is awesome! It was easy to install, I did it myself in about 15-20 minutes, and it has made a huge difference in my comfort level while riding! (Adjuster/Extender is available here: Handbar Adjuster for Peloton Bike. See the process for adding it to my bike in this previous post. How to Add a Handbar Adjuster to Your Peloton Bike.)

Since I don’t have my Peloton Bike here, I got an idea. I’ve always been intrigued by rowing machines since they appear to give a full-body workout, so I decided to order one. The one I ordered is currently on sale, which brought the price down to under $200. I didn’t want to spend a lot on a rower, having never used one. This one has a 4.7-star rating after 227 reviews, so I decided to give it a try. My son and DIL work out in their exercise room at home several times a week, so I think they will enjoy having access to a rower, as well. You’ll find it available here: Rowing Machine with LCD Monitor/Tablet Holder.

It should arrive tomorrow; shipping was fast. (Update: The delivery now shows it will arrive on Friday.) I can’t wait to give it a try! I spent some time yesterday researching the proper technique for using a rowing machine, and I found two videos that I thought were excellent. You’ll find those HERE and HERE. The first video is my favorite since it covers everything you need to know in detail.

I plan to place the rower downstairs in the movie room where I can watch a movie while rowing. Or, maybe I’ll buy another one of these fun disco lights like the one I have in Georgia. Ha!

I like the look of this one! (Disco Ball Party Light is available here: Disco Ball Party Light.) Exercise should be fun, well, at least as fun as we can make it, so I love these silly lights! I’ll let you know in a week or two how I like rowing. I can’t wait to give it a try! Do you have a rowing machine at home? If so, how do you like it?

Looking forward to all the wonderful Before and Afters linked for this week’s Met Monday! Like to know when a new blog post is up? Subscribe for email updates (it’s free) and your email will never be shared. Subscribe for free email post updates here: Subscribe.
Metamorphosis Monday: Metamorphosis Monday is a party that’s all about Before and Afters. You haven’t missed anything by being in Ohio. It has been a very cold winter in our Georgia area too. Besides, look at all the fun you have with your grandsons and family too. They will grow up so fast.
I noticed that, too. At least the ice or snow you got didn’t stick around. The snow has just finally begun to melt here over the last few days. I love how the snow usually only lasts a couple of days in Atlanta.
I’ve always wanted a rower too, so I’m interested to hear what you think about it.
Your son and daughter-in-law must be so happy you have moved close to them; you’ve been so helpful. And I know the boys love having Mimi so close. I know you’re probably anxious to get back to the warmer weather though. It is finally nice where I am, with sunny skies and temps in the 60s. I can live with that after the ice storm we endured last month!
Here’s hoping you love your rower. Have a great week, Susan.
I’ll let you know. I thought it was going to be here tomorrow but shipping is currently showing that it will arrive on Friday.
We’ve been having unusually warm days here, too, and finally some sunshine! Glad you are seeing warmer weather, Pam!
Well a rower sounds fun – especially with TV and disco lights! Can’t wait to hear what you think of it. Thanks for hosting, as always. Here’s to having fun with the kitties and grands!
I’ll be sure to report on that. I hope I like it; I think it will take a while to build up my time while using. From what I’ve read, it’s a pretty intense workout, but I guess that depends on the tension at which it’s set.
Susan,
Thanks so much for hosting!! I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into it along with visiting all the links!! I hope you are enjoying your week and you are doing well…

Have a great week, Deb!
Did your rowing machine come with one of those cute guys?!
Asking for a friend!
Mel
Ha! Now that would be a surprise, wouldn’t it?!
I love your blog and enjoy all the things you post that can make our lives easier. 🙂
Where did you get the framed purse prints in your room with the Peloton please? I love them! Thank you
Thanks so much, Denise! I bought those two prints from an Etsy shop called DollMemoriesArt back in September 2019. I just visited Etsy and clicked on the link and it appears the shop is no longer there. 🙁
Try doing a search on Etsy and on Google for Fashion Handbag Prints or Fashion Handbag Pictures…or phrases like that. When I did that on Etsy, a lot of fashion prints popped up. You can see those here: https://bit.ly/4c1fvDB . Or you may want to do a search for specific bag print…like Hermes Birkin Print Picture…something like that. I hope you find something awesome!
Thank you for the information! I appreciate you taking the time to provide the link. Have a great day!
