Welcome to the 667th Tablescape Thursday, a blog party sharing beautiful table settings for all occasions!
Though I’m 5 hours from the nearest beach and completely landlocked here in North Georgia, I really do love a beach or nautical-themed table setting. Maybe it’s because it makes me think of adorable beach cottages and the gorgeous aquas and blues we so often see in beach house decor.
It’s summertime and beach time! Today I’m sharing all my beachy/nautical designed flatware with examples of how I’ve used it in tables in the past. Hope this gives you some good summer vibes! Have you taken a beach trip this summer?
This flatware has always reminded me of a twisted rope, though the name is “Silver Tear.”
I love using it in nautical/beachy tablescapes like these below.
You can still find this flatware available here: Nautical Flatware-Rope Design.
I found this pretty aqua blue flatware in Kohls back in 2008 just as the screened porch was in completion.
Love the soft, dreamy shades of aqua!
I don’t think this flatware is currently available but I found some that’s very similar here: Aqua Blue Flatware.
This whimsical shark-themed flatware is probably my favorite because it’s just so much fun and unexpected!
In this side view, you can see the faces and those super sharp teeth a bit better. 🙂
Even the knife has the shark image etched into the blade.
This shark flatware would work well in any beach-themed table setting.
It would be especially fun to use for dinners on a yacht, houseboat, or beach cottage.
The top fin on each piece totally cracks me up! So fun! This exact flatware doesn’t seem to be available but I found some similar flatware here: Shark-Fish Flatware.
Another favorite and my final water/beach-themed flatware is this pretty Sailboat flatware.
I love the rope edge, too!
This flatware would work great for a lake home or a beach house.
This sailboat flatware by Towle is surprisingly very affordable, service for 8 is around $50! I’m not sure how they offer it for that great price, but I’m glad they do! You’ll find it here: Sailboat Flatware and here: Sailboat Flatware.
Though not specifically beach-themed, there’s just something about a color scheme of red, white and blue that suits a nautical-themed table.
Hope you’re having a fabulous summer and if you haven’t had a beach trip yet, I hope you squeeze one in this summer!
Looking forward to all the wonderful table settings linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links.

I loved your French Bee silverware so much that I bought a set for myself.
That is such a cute pattern! I should use mine more often. Thanks for that reminder of it, Karol! 🙂
Love the shark flatware. Such a fun element to add to the table.
Lynne, Thrifting Wonderland
Thanks, Lynne! I wish they would make it again, it’s such a hard pattern to find now.
Nice post! I’ve been trying to find DCB’s Driftwood for a while and haven’t had any luck. If you ever decide to sell, I call dibs! 😀
A while back I got the sailboat cutlery. Like you, I was amazed by the price because it’s heavy and of good quality.
~ I too am dreaming of water lapping on beachy shores, lazy days and beautiful tablescapes set for enjoying great food with good friends. Sigh.
Pam, set up an “alert” on eBay and I bet you’ll catch it on there. That’s where I found it several years ago. David Carter Brown does the cutest patterns!
I know, I’m so surprised that it’s priced so well!
Thanks for encouraging me to do that, Susan. I have always wanted to, but never knew how. But you pushed me to go look for a video or something and I learned how to do it. And it’s easy! Haha. (I’ll probably have dozens of things on there in no time, lol.)
Love the summer beach colors, so soothing, but fun.
Thanks, Sharyn! Happy Summer to you!
That shark flatwear is one of my faves also. But all the previous times you’ve showed it, I never noticed the dorsal fin. Some designer somewhere was really clever.
Ha! It is a hoot! I wish they would make more fun flatware like that!
Those are all so fun Susan! Like everyone else, I love the shark ones! Also love the lobster plates. They all feel like a trip to the beach to me! 🙂 Thanks so much for hosting, and hope you’re having a great week!
Noritake aqua is no longer available 🙁
That’s a shame, I really like that flatware! I’m going to look online and see if I can find anything similar somewhere else.
Fun flatware, Susan. I don’t have any nautical flatware, but I do have some small silver appetizer servers in a fish motif. I found them at an antique market in France. I also have some fun fish napkin rings. The fish swirls around the napkin. I have a wonderful set of fish plates from Quimper that set a fun table. I was just thinking about setting a new table with them. They are red, white, and blue and perfect for summer.
What a neat souvenir to bring home from France. I would love to shop in a French antique market one day! You have the best Quimper collection, Sarah!

Susan, you have THE BEST beach/ocean/nautical tablescapes ever. It’s so nice seeing a collection of them all together in the same post. I’m so tempted to get the rope handle flatware, it’s gorgeous! Thanks again for another great Tablescape Thursday! XO
All of these patterns are so cute. I actually ordered the rope design flatware a couple of years ago after seeing it used in one of your tablescapes.
Thank you for sharing
Love the plates. Thanks for showing several settings. I always wonder if flatware like the rope or twig is hard to handle while eating.
Susan,
So many fun nautical flatware patterns! I need to hunt up some of these! Those sharks are so much fun, but being sailors in the past, I am partial to the sailboats, too!
Oh so fun, Susan!!! I have beachy colors in our house, it just feels right! The shark cutlery is so cute…a perfect addition to a summery meal. Thanks for the cute post!!!
Such fun table settings and flatware patterns in the nautical looks! I love the shark ones, so unexpected but so fun. I love red, white and blue in a nautical theme too, it just screams American summers at the beach! Sadly, I’ve not gone to any beaches this year. I love watching the ocean, but prefer to be in a rocking chair on a porch with a book. lol Happy Summer Susan! Hugs, Brenda
Being a Navy kid, always been by the water. And now in the Gulf Coast of Florida. Loved that setup. The silverware was amazing. Beautiful set up. Makes me want seafood now. 🙂
