Yesterday afternoon, a replacement Fisher & Paykel dishwasher was installed in the Dollhouse kitchen. If you saw Monday’s post, you know that the previous newly-purchased dishwasher was delivered with a defect: the drawers would not line up properly.

I later discovered paperwork attached to the unit indicating that it had previously been involved in a truck accident. Not sure if that was the cause of the drawer misalignment issue, but thankfully, the new unit delivered yesterday doesn’t appear to have that problem. This spring, I hope to start my search for a new stove and microwave. When I moved into the Dollhouse, I discovered all the appliances were around 20-25 years old and not in the best condition. The refrigerator and dishwasher have been replaced; now it’s time to start the research process for a stove and microwave. The current one is electric. I need to decide if I want to stay with an electric or go with a gas stove. The one thing I do know for sure is that it has to have two ovens like my Maytag Gemini back in Georgia. I have so enjoyed that feature!

Also delivered yesterday were the Rtic tumblers that I ordered last week during their big sale. I had previously purchased a “Road Trip” tumbler in the Ski design and one of their regular tumblers in the Red Plaid design. I have enjoyed those so much, I decided to order additional pieces while they are still on sale and available.
My son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons take ski trips often during the winter months, so I purchased tumblers with the beautiful ski design for them. I’m not sure who at Rtic designed their Holiday line, but they deserve a raise! I had never owned an Rtic tumbler before, but I’m definitely a fan now, at least for their special Limited-Edition designs. I’d love to see them do a green plaid next winter! If you love these designs as much as I do, they are currently on sale here: Limited Edition Road Trip (with handle) Ski & Red Plaid Design, AND here: Limited Edition Tumbler Ski & Red Plaid Design.

I’d still love to find the Red Plaid Road Trip in the 30 oz size, but it appears to be sold out. At least I have it in the 40 oz size, although the 40 oz size doesn’t work quite as well in my car as the 30 oz size does. Were you able to catch the sale on these? I love the design so much! Wonder if they’ll offer a special design for spring/summer?

I’ll leave you with this cute photo of sweet Beatrice napping this morning while I was working on this post. Hard to work with this level of cuteness aggression going on just a few feet away.

BTW, I just bought this litter box a few days ago, and both of the kittens love it! I was tired of hearing the crunch of litter under my feet in the upstairs hall bath whenever I walked into that room to scoop the litter. This has greatly eliminated litter being thrown out of the box, and thankfully, both kitties took right to it. They love boxes anyway, so they dove right in—both at the same time! lol (Litter box is available here: Litter box, Enclosed Design.)

See you tomorrow for Tablescape Thursday!

Replacing appliances is a chore and a half! Seems like it’s never easy or simple.
Only two more to go…
It’s been a very long time since I’ve had to buy appliances, and I never had these issues before. I don’t know if it’s a sign of the times or the area I’m in.
Please beware! All electrics are not equal. I have always had an electric, except for brief periods of gas. If you select an electric cooktop, it must be induction.
I have had induction cooking since 2012, and it was a revelation. With the proper cookware, the speed and heat control are incredible. I would never cook with any other type of heat source. You will see a wide range of prices for induction. I cannot recommend the budget priced induction. I have had two GE Monogram induction cooktops. There were cheaper brands and there were more expensive brands. Very happy with the Monogram. You will need induction cookware such as Allclad, which is also a pleasure with which to cook. Watch the videos on the Monogram website.
Thanks for that info, Catherine—I will def keep that in mind!
I ordered the red plaid tumbler without the handle and love it. My hands are small and the 20 oz fits my hand perfectly plus the plaid is so very pretty.
Your kitties are so cute and entertaining for you I’m sure.
I love that plaid, too! Thanks, Anita! They keep me laughing with all their antics. 🙂
Beautiful Beatrice napping was exactly what my heart needed to see at this time.
Thank you for sharing. Be joyful & know you are appreciated.
Thanks, Rebecca! Appreciate that so much! ♥
Glad you got your dishwasher squared away. I still can’t believe they tried to pass off a damaged dishwasher on you. I’m so glad that paperwork was there!
Those tumblers are so cute. But Beatrice is even more adorable. Thanks for the picture. I agree, it must be very difficult to concentrate on work with that fluffball just a few feet away!
It is! They are a constant distraction. Ha!
Glad the dishwasher is corrected and works! The litter box has a cute design with the little kitty ears. I use pine pellets now. Rarely have any leave the box and they really absorb. There is something very serene and soothing watching a kitten sleep without a care in the world! Re stoves and cooktops I bought a Gasland. I know, off brand but my cooktop works very well and its design is attractive (for those on a budget!).
I’ve never cooked with induction, so that may be good, but if the choice is electric or gas, gas all day long! I have gas at home, but electric in our beach condo, and I absolutely hate it. No heat control whatsoever.
