How I Work a 1,000 Piece Puzzle & Answering Your Puzzle Board Questions
August 30, 2021 30 Comments

Lately, I have gotten quite a few questions about the puzzle board that I always use whenever I work a puzzle. We will soon be moving into the autumn and winter seasons when we tend to spend more time inside, so I thought this might be a good time to answer some of those questions since puzzles are such a great cold-weather pastime. This is the puzzle board I use. I love doing puzzles on it so much, I've purchased it twice: once for my home and another one to … [Continue Reading...]

Welcome to the 657th Metamorphosis Monday! Did you ever play the game, Musical Chairs, when you were little? Well, it's been like musical lamps around here lately. lol I may end up with one odd lamp out in the end, not sure at this point. Last week I shared a new lamp I had purchased to use in my home office. It turned out to be much larger than I had expected so not a good fit for the office. Lesson learned--pay closer attention to size/dimensions before … [Continue Reading...]
Going Waaay Outside My Comfort Zone

So I did something a little crazy today. See that white shelf on the right wall of the guest room? I ordered a new picture for that spot. I also moved the trunk out of this room that had gotten shoved over onto that wall when I added cabinets down the opposite wall. I moved my vintage dress form from the office back to that spot, although it's not visible in this photo except for a small part of the stand. Since I've turned the … [Continue Reading...]
A Special Book Inspired This Post, Starting My Holiday Shopping Now

Recently I was scoping out books on Amazon and I came across a book that looked amazing and was available to be pre-ordered. Extraordinary Voyages combines our love of fashion, particularly Lous Vuitton fashion, as well as our love for travel. That makes a lot of sense since Louis got his start in 1854 making beautiful trunks designed for travel. How wonderful it would be to own a vintage or antique LV trunk! Extraordinary Voyages is a big, big … [Continue Reading...]
Seaside Dreaming for Tablescape Thursday

Welcome to the 674th Tablescape Thursday! It's a dreary day out so I decided to set this table in the breakfast room this week. If we get some sunshine today, I'll take a few pics in natural lighting which is always so much nicer and prettier. With summer slowly coming to an end, I was in the mood for a beach/nautical/seaside-themed table setting. I brought out the shell chargers I made several years back along with these fun … [Continue Reading...]
After I’m Gone, Will Someone Keep and Treasure This Piece?

Recently when I shared a new lamp I had purchased, you may have noticed a large, colorful bowl that was sitting nearby. I collected that bowl several years ago during a trip to Morocco when we visited Poterie de Fes, a place where they hand-make and paint tiles that they create from their local clay. The tiles are then used to make beautiful pottery and lovely fountains for gardens. I spotted this cute guy snoozing away in one of the fountains … [Continue Reading...]

HomeGoods Shopping Trip: What Would You Keep & What Would Go Back?
August 20, 2021 20 Comments

A few days ago when I visited HomeGoods, I was surprised by how many things they had in for creating pretty tables and decorating for the holidays. It felt like old times as I walked through and checked out the new offerings for fall. When I shop for items I may want to use in table settings or my holiday decor, I love to find pieces that aren't necessarily holiday-themed so that I can use them all throughout the year. Tiered servers like this one are great for … [Continue Reading...]

Welcome to the 673rd Tablescape Thursday! Hope you are staying well and haven't caught this yucky summer cold that seems to be going around. Thankfully, my cold is much, much better now. Whenever I visit family in Ohio, I love venturing out to check out the tablescaping goodies in this area of the world. I made a fun and very productive trip to HomeGoods yesterday and picked up quite a few goodies that I'll be taking back home. I hope to share everything I bought … [Continue Reading...]
When I Move One Day, These Are Going With Me

Many years ago when I used to go out antiquing almost every weekend, I ran into a good friend in a local antique shop. I was so surprised to see someone I knew in this large, but kinda off-the-beaten-path shop. She was headed out the door with a big brass chandelier in her hands. I complimented her on her awesome find, it was a beautiful chandelier! As she made her way toward the door, she shared that she was in the process of moving. She had bought a lake home … [Continue Reading...]
