Proof You Can Create An Elegant, Beautiful Table Setting Without Breaking The Bank

Welcome to the 850th Tablescape Thursday! Update: I didn’t realize the TT party was set to start in the evening—somehow I must have set it for PM instead of AM. Thanks to Mary for letting me know. It should be open now.

Sheri set a beautiful table this year that her sister described as a “fairytale” table. I thought the same thing when I saw it, the colors are soft and ethereal—a beautiful vision in silver and white. Elegant Table Setting, Silver and White

I wish my dining room were long enough to add a small table at the end of the dining table as Sheri did to accommodate additional guests. My table will only seat 8, so if/when I have additional friends/family, I’ve always had to seat them in the breakfast room. I love this idea of adding a table to the end of the main table since it keeps everyone together in the same room.Holiday Table in Silver and White

For place cards, Sheri used adorable silver bells bearing the name of each guest. Love this!Use a Bell for Place Card Holder

Continuing the elegant feel of her table setting, for her centerpiece Sheri placed a hurricane globe and pillar candle inside a beautiful silver bowl, surrounding the globe with beautiful silver and gold ornaments. Table Setting Centerpiece Ideas for Christmas

If you think you have to spend a lot to set a beautiful table, let Sheri inspire you with these words. Sheri said, “I was inspired by silver and glitter for my Christmas table. My silver chargers are from Dollar Tree, and my napkins and napkin rings are from garage sales. My goblets are from Dollar Tree. My china was a promotion from a bank back when we were first married. It says Imperial on the back.”

“I used two twin-size white sheets as a base and a large piece of lace fabric for tablecloth. As a runner, I used glittering mesh. The candelabra and two of the candle holders were garage sale finds. My centerpiece was made with a large Revereware silver bowl from a garage sale and a large hurricane globe also from a garage sale. I surrounded it with gold and silver glitter ornaments and picks and a metal sign from Dollar Tree, setting all on another large silver tray from garage sale with more glitter mesh.”

“My white and silver Christmas stockings from Amazon hold my silverware. I found the small bells on Amazon and used my Cricut to add names on the front and holly on the back to use as place cards. The water decanter has an interesting story. For our 20th wedding anniversary, Mike won a silent auction for a trip on the Kentucky dinner train. It was elegant and beautiful and they had these on the tables with sweet tea. We asked if we could buy two and did. They are a lovely memento from a special date. I found the pink and blue bottle brush trees at Dollar Tree at Easter but I thought they would work better at Christmas.”

Thanks so much to Sheri for sharing her beautiful, fairytale Christmas table setting. I know her family must have felt so special dining here for Christmas! Elegant Table Setting, Silver and White

Looking forward to the beautiful table settings linked below for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  5. Sheri did a great job with her Dollar Tree and garage sale finds. That china is lovely, too. Very inspiring and a good reminder you don’t have to break the bank.
