Springtime Table with a Daffodil Centerpiece

Welcome to the 182nd Tablescape Thursday!

It was another warm day today so the pull of the porch won out again.

Springtime Table Setting Tablscape with Daffodil Centerpiece

All this warm weather we’re having has me thinking spring.  This table setting would work well as an Easter tablescape with its springtime colors.

The breezes stirred the sheers on the porch as I photographed this setting.  I couldn’t resist snapping a pic through the wind swept sheers.

Sheer Blowing in Breeze on the Porch

If you have a really large serving bowl in the pattern you’re using, or a bowl that coordinates with your table, consider using it as part of your floral centerpiece.

I have daffodils blooming in the yard but not wanting to dig those up, I found these at Home Depot.  They were inexpensive and will transplant into the garden nicely once they are no longer blooming.

Daffodil Centerpiece for a Springtime Table Setting

It’s impossible to look at daffodils and not smile! 🙂

I’ve used the napkins before in THIS summer table setting.  They were a gift from a friend years ago.

Napkins for a Summer Table Setting

This china, Ma Maison, by Tabletops Unlimited is one of my favorite patterns, if not my very fave.

Ma Maison Dishware by Dario Farrucci

The pattern includes all the things I most love: gardening hats and clogs, beautiful flowers, kitty cats, picket fences, garden benches, watering cans and a house surrounded in wisteria and flowering vines.  Please, may I move in?

Inside the bowl you’ll find white fluffy clouds against a blue sky and a pretty bouquet of flowers tied with a lavender ribbon.

The salad plate is Ma Maison by Tabletops Unlimited, designed by Darrio Farrucci.  The sunny-yellow dinner plate is Colorwave “Mustard” by Noritake.  It worked nicely with our daffodil centerpiece.

Iced Beverage glasses are from Pier 1 and were used previously in THIS “corny” table setting.  Wine glasses were a recent find at Dollar Tree.

You’ll find another table set with Ma Maison HERE and HERE.

Tip:  As tempting as it might be, try to resist cutting off the foliage once your daffodils stop blooming.  The foliage soaks up the good nutrients from the sun and feeds the bulb so it will bloom beautifully again the following year.  Once the foliage turns yellow and starts to die back, that’s the time to tidy up and trim it away.

I didn’t intensify any of the colors in the photos with photo editing software.  The flowers were just so vivid!  I potted the daffodils into a large Ma Maison serving bowl and added decorative moss on top for a finished appearance.  In the past, I have used the cookie jar and tea pitcher in this pattern for table floral arrangements HERE.

I am so jealous of your porch and the weather. The table looks great. I love the bright color and the promise of Spring. While it’s 60 degrees today, the hint of winter is still with us. I’ll be glad when I can set a table outside and use the yellow color scheme.

  21. Michele @ The Nest at Finch Rest says

Susan, We have loads of Daffoldils once spring hits us here – Tulips too but the deer won’t allow the blooms last but just a few short hours! What we do in the garden to keep the foliage but to “tidy up” the garden is something my mother taught me: we fold the leaves over in half and tie them down. That way it really remedies the unkempt look in the garden ever slightly, but still allows the sun to sustain “feeding” the bulbs for future generations. Anyway, your tablescape is lovely and your porch is always such a welcome sight. Thank you for hosting such a wonderful link party each week.

  22. Sweetest table-scape ever. I love these dishes. What can I say about your porch…paradise. Deb=^..^=x4

  23. Susan, I love, love, love this tablescape. It takes me away to warm spring breezes and sweet smells of flowers. A nice respite from the blustery winter winds outside my door. I’m impressed! Great shots. I would never have guessed it was less light. Of course, the photographer gets the credit. I think it’s funny when people say that’s-a-great-picture-what-kind-of-camera-do-you-have. It’s like the camera gets all the credit. 🙂

  55. How beautiful! I especially like the dishes.

  56. Ok, Susan, rub it in. You Southern gals will be posting flowers while your Northern friends are still wearing wool! We won’t see a bloom around here for at least 6 weeks. I guess it is time to take those snowmen in your header down, they must be melting in your gorgeous weather. Your table is beautiful, a breath of fresh air. Love the dishes , and the dafs are so cheerful!

  57. As always, just gorgeous! I love the dishes even more now…if that’s possible!
