Welcome to the 74th Tablescape Thursday! I was in the mood to celebrate this season of winter with a winter table setting and one of my favorite Robert Frost poems.
Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
The woods are lovely dark and deep
And miles to go before I sleep
This tablescape is very similar to one I created back in December 2008. I had planned to repost that one since I remembered it had a wintery feel…that was until I saw how blurry the pics were. Thankfully, I have a much better camera now that handles the low lighting a bit better.
I made a few changes using different napkins and napkin rings and different salt cellars.

Hi Susan,
I remember when you posted this themed table the first time. I love the reindeer and snowflakes. The crystal knife rests are beautiful and I have some on my table this week that were also a Christmas present. Stunning table and photos as always. Thank you so much for sharing and hosting this fun meme.
Hugs,
Tam
Hi Susan, I'm back after a way-too-long absence. I have to pick out 2 things that really stand out for me on this table. I love the ornament tree as a centerpiece and those chargers were the perfect touch. Another great Susan tablescape!
Susan, you always do the most wonderful tablescapes. Do you have a butler's pantry to store all those lovely dishes? That's one of my request from the Yankee for a future remodeling project.
Just beautiful! Love the deer and the crystal snowflakes. We also have the Swarovski ornaments, our son gives us one each year! We have about ten now! Love them!
Katherine
Susan, Absolutely exquisite!
I could never choose a favorite of all the fabulous tablescapes you have shared with us, but this ranks right up near the top.
That overhead shot is especially stunning. Very nicely done.
Thank you once again for hosting us each week! xo
The poem reminds me of Robert Burns. Really nice winter tablescape. I love the deer!
Susan, This is the perfect winter table- white, silver and icy crystal. This table does remind me of being in the snowy woods on a starry night. Beautiful and serene.
Yvonne
Susan,
Everything is just beautiful as usual. I love your napkin rings and the crystal knife rest are to die for. Thanks for sharing and for hosting this event every week.

A most lovely winter tablescape. I remember how pretty it was the first time – so fun to see your new treasures added.
That table would make me handle this dreary winter I am having to adjust to up here in my new home state of Kentucky. Very pretty table.
Well what a delightful snowy winter scene you've played out on this gorgeous table setting. Everything looks so elegant!
Susan,
Thank you so much for calling my attention to my blog settings. I've just went public with my blog and thought I had changed everything that I needed to, but…I guess not! Your blog is beautiful and very inspirational! It's what my blog wants to be when it grows up!! lol!
God Bless,
Holly

Susan
Hi, Susan. Another lovely table and beautiful post. I love it when you use a poem as the text. I'd like to try that sometime. Wonderful idea.
Life's been too full this week for me to get a table done to share, but I'll certainly enjoy all that is here for viewing this week. Thanks for hosting! ~ Sarah
Perfect setting for classy, fine dining at its best…enriched by beautiful poetry.
I can't be poetic,
But a bit prophetic,
You'd win any tablescape quiz
Obviously, best in the biz.
Pretty and wintery. Please tell me spring will be here soon. You are the second person I have seen in the last five minutes who received knife rests for Christmas. What is wrong with my family and friends. I'll tell you what. None of them have ever heard of knife rests.

Burr, I got a chill from your tablescape, but in a good way 🙂

So gorgeous!!! I am jealous of the knife rests. I've been looking for some matched sets for ever!
Beautiful, as usual!
Oh my. The title of this post really caught my attention! This Frost poem is one of my family's favorites. I gave my sister a poem book once and someone read this poem from it. My mother 'who was born in 1928' responded..well at least he had a horse! I think Frost painted such a wonderful picture of a wintry eve til she was all caught up in the scene;). Lovely tablescape, just lovely. My absolute favorite so far! thank you
So sparkly and icy! I am seriously in love with your deer candlesticks! Love this table setting, made all the more beautiful with the poetry.

It's all stunningly beautiful, Susan! I loved this table the first time you posted it, and it's even more spectacular this time around! I know how much time and effort went into re-creating and improving on your original concept.
Thank you for always going the extra mile to inspire, educate, and entertain us. Thank you also for bringing us all together each week for this wonderful event.
Warmest regards,
Bill
VERY elegant!
Robert Frost's poem is my all time favorite! My son's first grade teacher had her class memorize and then recite this beautiful poem. It is such a wonderful memory for me.
The table scape is gorgeous so full of glitter!
Oh, Susan, you take such care with your tablescapes and this winter wonderland setting is so beautiful with the deers!

My favorite poem set to such a beautiful tablescape. Thank you!
Lovely tablesetting!! I remember that Robert Frost poem. Did an essay in English class many years ago on it.
I know it is a sin to covet, but I really like those deer candleholders. How unique!
Susan, That is simply beautiful! I'm wishing for a snowy day with a day off! After Christmas we don't take advantage of the opportunity to decorate with white and candlelight but it is so pretty to me and perfect for winter entertaining.
Thanks for reminding me to appreciate the beauty of winter.
Just beautiful….beautiful poem (one of my all-time favorites) and beautiful wintery setting!!! (where DO you gals store all these things???)

Wow. That is really a beautiful table, Susan. I always love the way you bring elements together to make one beautiful tablescape.
I love that poem, too. Did you know that you can sing it to the tune of "Hernando's Hideaway" from "The Pajama Game"? Really!
It's always so beautiful here. Thank you.
Susan, as always visual eye candy. You take the best photos. Everything is so sparkly, love it. I posted a fun color quiz on my blog today. I am Green, would love to know what color you are? Kathysue
Hi Susan, this is just beautiful. I love how you set the table and how it is so icy and elegant. What a great look. Love the reindeer too, my favorite! Hope your day is warm! It is pouring rain here in S. Calif. Trying not to slip around as I navigate through the wet!

Such a lovely winter scape Susan. But then all the scapes are just beautiful.

Toni
Love your beautiful tablescapes…all of them! This was my first week to join tt and I'm afraid I did a very poor job at it. The first time I accidentally hit enter before I finished (yikes)…started to give up, but decided to try again, and thankfully, it worked. I'll try to do better next time! Thanks again for all the inspiration!
I am just curious, how many sets of dishes do you have and where do you put them all? My dish collection is growing quickly and mmy house seems to be getting smaller!!! I love all of it and really enjoy using it but, where does one keep it all haha! Everything is just lovely as always!
Love your tablescapes. Thursdays are now my favorite computer days! I love the elegant deer candleholders and wish I had known Dillards had those deer napkin rings. I would have gone to find me a set of them. I had to memorize that poem when I was in grade school – way back in the old days. Thanks for sharing your lovely blog.
Stella
This table setting is beautiful.
Thanks so much for hosting Tablescape Thursday, It's so much fun to be able to join in.

One of my favorite tablescapes, Susan. And I love Robert Frost's poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening". The verses go beautifully with your wintry, sparkly tablescape. Thank you!
So beautiful! I love the pairing with Robert Frost, I'm a sucker for his poetry! Visit me if you like – http://noelgiger.blogspot.com/2010/01/tablescape-thursday-item-of-week-twofer.html My theme was sheet music and red roses.
So Lovely! I will always love your deer, the napkins and the wonderful tree with the stars you collect. I love love love the knife rest. I had forgotten about it! I going online and try and find some. lol Or you could just send me yours. lol
Such a beautiful winter table. The deer candle holders and the snow flake collection really took this over the top! Love it!
* Since I was a child, I have always dreamed of living in a house with a porch. I live in SEA, you see, where a porch isn't much of a house style, tsk!
* BUT…someday soon, the home that I am building will have one!
* Thank you for the inspiration! I feel so grateful to have stumbled on your blog! 😀
What a beautiful table… a porch in winter is so appealing!
Beautiful Table as always! My husband's boss has been giving us Swarovski Crystal Snow Flakes for Christmas every year for about 10 years now and I love them. I have never thought about leaving them out past Christmas. Thanks for the great idea!
This table is absolutely exquisite! I don’t believe I’ve seen the deer candle holders before. Do you still have them since this is ten years ago!!
Thanks so much, Kathleen! I do still have them. They are stored away in the closet in the breakfast room. I actually had forgotten I had them. I need to pull them out and put them someplace where I’ll see them. They are great for a Christmas or wintertime table.
