Celebrating the Red, White & Blue for This Tablescape Thursday!

Welcome to the 453rd Tablescape Thursday!

The month of May has flown by and June will soon be here. How did that happen! With Memorial Day coming up, I thought it would be fun to look back at some previous patriotic tables for a bit of inspiration in case you’ll be having family or friends over during the long weekend. I’ve also included a couple of crafts/decor ideas in today’s post.

Do you have any big plans for the weekend? Maybe a cookout or picnic? We’ve been getting a lot of rain here lately, which is good because we definitely need it, but I’m hoping it will hold off for the weekend.

I’m so thankful for all the men and women (including my father who passed away when I was 19) who risked or gave their life fighting for our great country. That includes all our men and women in uniform including law enforcement, fire fighters or any other field where they are out on the streets saving lives on a daily basis. It’s those brave souls who make our country so great, and I never take it for granted. I’m know you feel the same way.

Tablescape Thursday

If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up.

You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. (Yup, that really happens, unfortunately.)

Please Note: After 1 week, party links are still available to view by clicking on the blue button below.

  1. After reading this post, I want to stand up and sing God Bless America, but I’m afraid someone would hear me and it wouldn’t be a pleasant sound. So many wonderful patriotic ideas, Susan. Thank you.

  2. Fun to have all these links in one post, Susan. I’m late pulling out my patriotic things, but hopefully that will get done this weekend. You are inspiring me. Have a great weekend!

  3. Hi Susan, So many fabulous tables, I don’t know where to begin! I could get lost on your site for a very long time, oohing and ahhing and filing away little ideas (and of course shopping too–I have that adorable fish flatware thanks to you! 🙂 ) Thanks for hosting, and have a wonderful weekend! Linda

  4. Whoa! Love that porch with all the red…cushions, flags plates, really striking.

  5. Do ya have anything in umbrellas?? Rain and…more rain…gotta luv it!! franki

  6. I’m a tad bit behind with the editorial calendar, thank you for the inspiration. Have a fun holiday weekend!

  7. Great summer table round up Susan! I especially love the lawn chairs holding the cupcakes! Have a great Memorial Day weekend honoring our brave men & women who protect and serve~

  8. This is a really great roundup of all things red, white & blue. I remember pinning the denim craft post, and it got re-pinned (still does!) so many times. Love that one. A special thank you for hosting (always), but for the mention of all those who have served, and are serving while we enjoy our free time and our freedom. Have a great weekend, Susan. Unfortunately, we’re expecting rain, even though there are festivals going on (some things indoor, luckily). There’s always good reading material around, right? 🙂

  9. So many beautiful ideas! We usually go to the beach for Memorial Day Weekend but it’s supposed to rain the entire weekend here in NJ so I am not sure what we are doing now! Thanks for hosting and Happy Memorial Day to you!

Great post Susan. Aren’t our red, white and blue colors just awesome! I just love our flag and decorating for this wonderful holiday. We are truly blessed. I have an old antique Victrola phonograph by my front entry (it still can play) and I make a small tribute to my dad, husband and 2 brothers who all served, on the top of it by displaying their service pictures, hubby’s dog tags, and some other service items. I even display my dad’s WWII Army dress jacket on the outside of a nearby closet. I take it down after the 4th of July. I will be decorating my dining room table tomorrow with patriotic colors and using the bunting napkin rings I made from your post. I had so much fun making them. With all this rain I need to finish those last 2 beach chargers! ha. I think I’ll be trying the blue jean pockets /napkin holder in the near future. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a blessed Memorial Day.

So many wonderful ideas in one place. Your sources seem to be endless and I LOVE that. The ideas for the table settings really blow my mind! I can’t begin to thank you enough for all that you do. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and TFS

  14. Love, love all the red, white and blue. Gorgeous tables. Thanks for hosting and Happy Memorial Day weekend……

  15. Such pretty, colorful and cheerful tables, so much variety also! Susan, I have a question: When I am on a regular P.C., I am not able to view the tablescapes from other bloggers who link up by linkz to your web site on Tablescape Thursdays. However, I am able to view these other tablescapes if I use my Apple 7s smart phone to access BNOTP. I would like to view these other tablescapes on a large computer screen so I can see them better. What am I missing, doing wrong, why can’t I view these other tablescapes on my PC’s large screen? Thanks.

    • Elena, when a few folks were having that issue a while back, I asked the guy who runs InLinkz about it. That’s the linking service for the blog party. He said that it’s usually an outdated browser. Do you know if you are using the latest version of the browser you use on your PC? Periodically browsers get updated, maybe the one on your PC is out of date? Whatever browser you use, go to that website for that browser and see if there are any updates and check to see what version they on now. Then check to see what version you’re using. Let me know if that fixes it, I would be curious to know. I hope it does!
I’m guessing your phone updates the browser automatically so that’s probably why you can see the links on your phone.

Hi! I have all your patriotic table settings in my file. I remember the first time I saw your red, white, and blue beverage and thought ” how clever is that!” I loved seeing all the lovely houses with their flags flying. Even with the problems, we are so fortunate to be living in this country. Hope you have a fun weekend. This is the weekend Longwood Gardens has their fountains with fireworks show up and running after a two year + redo on all the plumbing. It’s been vastly improved, too–should be amazing! Hugs!

  17. Can I move to that house? Would so love to live in a house with a big front porch like that.

S/N: I picked up some blue and red gingham napkins today and a new tablecloth in the Hatched Stripe design. ALL ON CLEARANCE!!!!

(Everyone agreed that the Hatched Stripe tablecloth would be perfect for my nautical tablescape)

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
