2 Updates: One For Halloween & One For The Sunroom

Welcome to the 874th Metamorphosis Monday! After a long, but thankfully uneventful, drive yesterday. I’m back in Georgia. The kitties are in good hands as family is checking in on them all throughout the day and spending time with them in the movie room during the evening. I can’t wait to get back and see them again!

I didn’t do a lot of Halloween decorating at the Dollhouse this year, but I did add these cute black cat silhouettes to the window boxes. I had planned to place a few in the front flower beds, but the ground was so hard, I gave up on that idea.

Black Cat Silhouettes

I love these and plan to use them every year for Halloween. They are designed to hold up to rain and such, so they should last for several years.

Halloween Black Cat Silhouette for Windowbox

I like how their eyes glow at night. Ha! I should have turned off the inside lights before taking this photo, but hopefully, you can see their glowing eyes.

Here’s a bit closer look. You’ll find these available here: (6 Black Cat Silhouettes with Glowing Eyes.)

I made one other cat-related update inside the Dollhouse. I added a window perch in the sunroom for Beatrice (Bea) and Agatha (Aggie).

Cat Window Perch

Bea enjoyed a bit of bird and squirrel watching from her new perch.

Cat Window Perch, Sticks Well to Windows

I ordered three different perches to see which style would work for the windows in the sunroom. The perches that have to be inserted between the sill and the window would not work with my windows, so I went with the perch that is held in place via very strong suction cups. The reviews looked as good for those as they did for the other style, so I decided to try one. So far, so good! (Kitty window perch is available here: Cat Window Perch.)

Happy kitty. ❤️

  1. Hi, says my link is under moderation, it definitely has a link back…so? All the items in my photos are mine, and well old…grins. Well, Happy Spooky week, loving your sweet kitty, looks so much like our Tinker in 1972, Sandi

    • Thanks, Sandra! Not sure why InLinkz is doing that if there’s a link back to the party in your post. Thanks for letting me know, I just moderated it so it should be showing.

  2. Especially love the black cat in the lower box. And what a super soft spot for the kittens to view nature!

  3. Those “light up eyes” are da bomb! ❤️
    “Happy kitties in their sitties!”

  4. Hi Susan, I’m in love with your two darling kitties! And I miss my two that passed over the last year. So looking forward to lots of photos of them!

  5. Adorable! And the cat silhouettes look great too!

    • Thanks, Rosie! They are fun to see from inside too since the eyes are on both sides. I should have taken a photo showing them from the inside.

      • The cats really pop atop those planters….good choice! I used to do large crows in porch railing flower boxes, but we were closer to the road, so they did not have to be large to be seen. I would love to find some of those crows again.

  6. You got back just in time for a cold, rainy day

    • I know. I tried to time it so that I wouldn’t have to drive in it. I only had about 2 hours of driving in drizzly rain yesterday, so that wasn’t too bad.

  7. Love the cats in the window boxes, so cute! And your kitties are adorable, they are going to love their window perches looking out at the birds and squirrels.Loved your 2025 Winter Survival List too.

  8. Like everyone says the black cats are perfect. The kittens remind me of babies who a so cute for a reason. I follow a baby elephant and hippo. So sweet.

Meanwhile, everyone is talking about the cats and kittens, while I’m thinking, “She must be so tired.” Either that or you’re just having a lot of fun moving to be by the family. I’m so happy for you. ♥

  9. Susan, your kittens are some of the cutest I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying a lot since all kittens are incredibly adorable. I love their coloring and markings. Such sweet little fluffballs.

You find the cutest things for them, too. I love that perch. Glad you made it to Georgia safely. I hope your hand is healing well.

    • Thanks so much, Pam! I feel fortunate that I was able to adopt them before someone else beat me to it. I don’t think they would have been at the shelter very long. Feels like it was meant to be, seeing them the day that I did. The shelter said they had just gotten them in. I’ve had so much fun buying goodies for them! I love spoiling them!

  10. Thanks so much for hosting!! I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into it along with visiting all the links!! I hope you are enjoying your week and you are doing well…

  11. I love the window box kitties. They look so cute from a far! Bea and Aggie are so darn cute and the luckiest kitties ever! (when you see the tilt of her head you just know she has a bead on something out there)

    • Thanks, Kathleen! Ha! For sure! When I first placed them on the window seat, they didn’t seem to understand that they were supposed to look THROUGH the window. They were busy staring at the window itself. Once they realized there were birds and squirrels outside, they were all about it! lol

  12. Michele M./ Finch Rest says

Love your black cats and really love the kitty mount so they can watch the birds and squirrels! Boy what a cutie in that pic. Be still, my heart. ♥

  13. I didn’t realize you had changed one of your kitty’s name!! Agatha was the name of my first kitty that I adopted on my own. My mom named her after Agatha Christie, our favorite author, and also because in Spanish “Agata” is the translation of Agatha, and the word for a female cat is “gata”. So, it was perfect for her!! She was a very beautiful Siamese mix with blue eyes, and she was loved dearly until she passed. Your kitties are absolutely beautiful, I bet you are missing them in Georgia!!

    • I was talking with someone who had just returned from Egypt, and I remembered touring the Agatha Christie suite in the Old Cataract Hotel during my trip there. I thought it would be fun to name her Agatha.
Oh, your Agatha sounds beautiful! I know she is still missed.
I am missing them! Can’t wait to see them when I return. They are getting a ton of attention and visits from family while I’m here, though. They are sending me photos every day. 🙂

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
