Welcome to the 840th Tablescape Thursday! Okay, I have to admit, I have never seen a Beetlejuice movie and know nothing about the movie or the characters. From the bit of research I did after Jackie sent over photos of this creative table setting, I learned that the movie, Beetlejuice, is described as a “Comedy/Horror.” What?! Now that’s a combination you don’t normally see. If I read correctly, there have been two Beetlejuice movies, the original from 1988 and a new one that just came out in 2024. Having never seen either movie, I know nothing about the plot or the characters. However, if you have seen one or both movies, these spooky, crazy characters Jackie invited to her annual Halloween party this year will probably look familiar. 😉
Jackie said, “I had all these characters in the library – which was the “Netherworld waiting room. They decided to get a bite to eat and joined each other in the dining room.”
Jackie said about the picture in the right corner, “When Lydia Deetz took a photo of the Maitlands with designer sheets over their heads. There were no feet because they were ghosts.”
Jackie said, “Left corner—Delia Deetz’s sculpture.” The detail that Jackie goes to when creating a theme for her Halloween party is amazing! She really tries to capture all the details!
The dishes Jackie chose for this table are Royal Stanford. She found those in HomeGoods.
Love the way Jackie decorated her Chandelier for this movie-themed party table!
These are some very interesting party guests! Ha!
Jackie provided a list of the movie characters that you’ll find dining here: The Magician’s Assistant, Harry the Hunter, Miss Argentina, Football Player, Juno, Char Man, and Adam & Barbara Maitland.
Jackie set the table with Royal Stanford dinnerware, a find in HomeGoods.
Jackie said, “The flatware is Euirio 48 piece Black Gorgeous.” Jackie found her flatware at Amazon.
Are you a Beetlejuice movie fan? Did you see the original back in 1988 and the one that came out this year? How did they compare? Did you like the new one better than the old one? I bet the special effects have drastically improved since the 1988 version was filmed.
Thanks so much to Jackie for sharing this creative Halloween table setting with the most interesting dinner guests I think I’ve ever seen! 🙂
If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.
I’ve never seen the movies either, but still find that a wonderfully creepy and glamorous table!
LOVE IT – Such attention to detail – very well done!
When I first saw Beetlejuice in ‘88 I was surprised that I enjoyed it so much. I went into it just humoring the grandkids but found the characters to be wildly relatable and entertaining. I haven’t seen the new one but just might to see if it compares.
So fun! I’ve never seen the movie either, but this is great! Thanks for sharing, both of you! And as always, thanks for hosting, Susan!
