Welcome to the 601st Tablescape Thursday!
A few months back Selma, a reader of BNOTP, hosted a wonderful Sweet 16 Tea for Virginia, the oldest daughter of a dear friend. Selma said, “It was extra special for me because my friend and her girls have been coming over for tea for at least 6 years. The first time they came for tea, Virginia (guest of honor) and Ella (her sister) were 10 and 8 respectively, now they’re 16 and 14! Isn’t it amazing how much they change in such a short time!”
Selma made a beautiful cake to celebrate this special occasion. This is Selma below with one of her sweet Cornish Rex kitties.
Selma set a beautiful table for this Sweet 16 tea party.
I love how the colors in the arrangement so beautifully mimic the colors in the china. The china Selma chose for this Sweet 16 Tea Party is Jaguar Jungle by Lynn Chase. The stemware is Val St. Lambert Berncastel and the flatware is Cloisonne by Kirksteiff.
For the napkin rings, Selma said, “I doctored up some woven napkin rings with satin ribbon and a silk orchid that coordinates with the china.”
Such a beautiful floral centerpiece! Selma said, “The centerpiece had a combination of protea, roses, a variety of aster (blue), seeded eucalyptus, alstroemerias, and some yellow silks sprayed to blend with the arrangement since our weather was bad and they couldn’t get orchids.”
This photo below really shows the gorgeous, vibrant colors in this pattern. I love it!
Selma also decorated her chandelier in fun, vibrant colors. Selma described it saying, “I added a bit of color and fun to the chandelier with ribbon, silk orchids and a scarlet macaw perched above the table.”
Selma decorated the backs of all the chairs. Love those big, beautiful bows!
Each guest took home an adorable plush jaguar at the end of the party. What a sweet reminder of this very special day! ♥
I love Selma’s beautiful antique tea cart! She even had the perfect little teapot for this Jungle-Jaguar Themed Sweet 16 Tea Party!
The beautiful jaguar tea towels are from Analei Linens.
Wow! Just look at those desserts! What a gorgeous cake stand! Selma said, “The cake stand pattern is daisy and button, and you can just see my antique cake server.”
Don’t these tea sandwiches look amazing! Selma described them as “cucumber-radish with chive cream cheese, rainbow sandwiches, and BLT’s.”
Thanks so much to Selma for sharing photos of this wonderful event! I know Virginia must have loved every moment of this beautiful Sweet 16 celebration!
Looking forward to all the beautiful tables linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

Beautiful just doesn’t do justice to that amazing table. She is a very lucky girl to have such a special moment. Thank you for sharing, especially at this time.
Wow what a fun and fabulous sweet 16 party Selma had! Love the china and the wild animal touches! Thank you Susan!
Beautiful, simply beautiful. This is a five star table setting. Congratulations Selma.
Susan, you get one star for sharing. Stay safe.
Oh this is so wonderful! Every single thing about it is just perfect, and I bet the guests loved the little jaguars! 🙂 Congrats to Selma for hitting it out of the park! And thanks so much for sharing Susan. Take care!
Wow! What a lovely thing to do, Selma. Everything looks beautiful and the guest of honor must have felt so special. Hard to pick a favorite on the table, it’s all so lovely. Maybe I’d choose the teapot. I’ve never seen a leopard teapot before. How lovely for you to have such good friends. This will be a wonderful memory they will have for many years to come. Thanks for sharing,
Just lovely. Everything.
PS Susan, I tried to comment o n your hairdresser post to tell you I thought you were blonde but your hair and the cut are just beautiful.
I’ll let the guy who handles my ads know, I’m not sure what’s causing that. Thanks for letting me know, Kimberly.
Wow, what a beautiful set up for a sweet 16 tea! I love the theme, Selma did a wonderful job with coordinating it all, the flowers are stunning. I can’t imagine going to a tea that looks this beautiful. Virginia is a lucky girl for sure. Thanks for sharing Selma’s tablescape Susan. Hugs, Brenda

Would you please tell me which eye vacuum you ordered from Amazon !!
I thought the china was beautiful, but those tea towels were exquisite.
A belated Happy Birthday to Virginia.
Are you sure about the name of the company that makes the tea towels ? I checked and couldn’t find them.
