A Romantic Bedtime Makeover

Welcome to the 347th Metamorphosis Monday!

Today I left Mahali Mzuri and headed off to Giraffe Manor. Visiting Giraffe Manor is such a great way to end this African safari adventure.

Giraffe Manor, Kenya

I was booked for the “Daisy” room. All the rooms are named after much-loved giraffes that have called Giraffe Manor home at some point.

When I arrived the beds looked like this…draped in beautiful netting at each corner.

Romantic Bedroom with Mosquito Netting

Sooo romantic!

I headed outside around 5:30 for the daily evening visit from the beautiful Rothschild Giraffes that reside on the property. This is Jacques; he and I go way back. In fact, we shared a kiss earlier today. 😉 Check out the BNOTP Instagram HERE for that photo.

Feeding the Giraffes at Giraffe Manor

It’s so much fun feeding them. Looking forward to breakfast with them tomorrow morning.

Afterwards, I headed back to my room to relax until dinner. When I got back upstairs to my room, this is how it looked.

Romantic Bed with Mosquito Netting

I was so surprised and loved this romantic transformation. Both beds were fully draped with netting.

I’ll begin the long trek back home tomorrow evening. I’m sure next week I’ll be wondering if this was all just a dream…a wonderful dream.

Looking forward to all the fabulous Before and Afters for this Met Monday!

  2. Thanks for taking us along–loved it.

  3. What a romantic feel with the netting. When I was a teenager they had Mombasa nets you could buy and hang around the bed from the ceiling. I so wanted one but dad said no. Now It would not be good with the cats!!

  4. Susan, this has been such fun. Now that you have had such a good time you will be jet setting around all the time. 🙂

  7. Oh Susan, you look so wonderful, so happy! What a beautiful, beautiful place you are in. If it weren’t for the loooong flights (and the crappy waiting in the airports), traveling wouldn’t be nearly as onerous, would it?

  20. Oh Susan, what a fabulous adventure! I love your new “beau” and the Daisy room is so lovely. I can just hear the theme song to “Out of Africa” right now. I have a canopy bed. I have one of those hand crocheted testers on it, but maybe I should add some netting and pretend we are on safari 🙂 Safe trip home my friend.
