Last summer I traveled to England for the first time. During that trip, I was fortunate to be in London at the same time Christian Dior Exhibition was taking place in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
The exhibition was an in-depth look at many of Christian Dior’s designs spanning from 1947 to the present day.
It was a truly wonderful exhibition! If you missed that previous post, you’ll find it here: Beautiful Christian Dior Exhibition, Victoria and Albert Museum, London 2019
Recently, I purchased my first Dior piece, a handbag I’d had on my wishlist for a few years. I got it for about half its original price and in excellent/like-new condition here: Designer Handbags.
They currently have 369 Dior pieces available at their website, 186 of which are handbags.
Whenever I purchase a handbag from a design house I’ve never purchased before, I always love to pick up a book about the design house or the designer so I can learn as much as possible about the history and vision behind the designs.
In the process of shopping for a book about Christian Dior and the House of Dior, I was so excited to discover a book has been written showcasing the beautiful designs featured in the Victoria and Albert exhibition! The exhibition was so impressive, I ordered the book immediately. It is set for release next Tuesday and I can’t wait for it to arrive!
If you love designer fashion and would love to see more of the exhibition than I was able to share in my previous post, you’ll find this book available here: Christian Dior, Victoria and Albert Exhibition.
For Fans of Louis Vuitton Bags
If you’re a fan of Louis Vuitton bags, I can’t recommend this book enough! It’s excellent and one of my faves! Interestingly, the sleeve that comes across the bottom half of the book varies, mine came with a Speedy sleeve. You’ll find this excellent book here: Louis Vuitton City Bags: A Natural History.
See you tomorrow for Tablescape Thursday!
Those books sound great – I love all the gorgeous pictures and history! And it’s so wonderful to see the dresses in person. I’m glad your London timing was right, and you could share your visit with us! 🙂
Oh…that still has me green with envy…(shamrock emerald green.) I used to adore “walking the halls at the Smithsonian” oogling the “first ladies” frocks. A gal can dream can’t she..* sigh.” franki
